In case one doesn't know: In DS1 and 3, you look at the chain of the mimic. If the chain is pointing backwards, away from you, it's a normal chest. If the chain however is pointing AT YOU, it's a nom nom box and you should whack it.
Whoaaaa, the sudden transition to a cooking show format is SUPER UNIQUE, I truly wish more challenge-runners would do that, like, even if they don't film it, they should slap on a picture of a meal on screen. Gamers and home-cooking aren't found in the same sentence that often! Double points for FILMING the process of cooking - and then editing it! It's harder than it looks, if one has never tried it!
your editing and audio is such good quality i genuinely didn't realise you were such a small channel. keep up the good work! may you be blessed with many more subs!
I don't know if you didn't realised, but Queelag's attack from 9:29 is a super rare attack that even people who have played the game a lot of times have never seen.
DS2 being my first souls game years ago, I have genuinely developed a slight PTSD from those mimics in particular so much so that to this day I still think I hear that wheezing laugh
I did that on purpose and turns out; you can drop the Asylum demon in on Stray Demon creating a duo boss fight. But it is difficult because of the Asylum demon's hit box. he has to be on the right tiles on the floor when you break it or he won't fall. And if you fall without him you leave his aggro radius.
There's some exceptions to the rule that non-scaling weapons become noobtraps/trash fast. The dragon ultra greatsword and the dragon king greataxe are two of the best weapons in the game. haha. Loved the cooking sessions but wew, that's a breakfast that would keep me satiated for the entire day.
The occult club is a relatively good weapon against OnS, as it deals strike damage and ornstein takes bonus damage from occult aux. Also not like you're using white titanite chunks for anything else. You can get a few extra chunks from the lizards in the great hollow.
I thought the cooking bit was gonna be a hello fresh ad but when I realized you were literally just making some food I actually laughed out loud this was a great video
There's actually a "lost and found" chest in firelink shrine. It's located in the water area where frampt appears. I'm unsure if the mimic drops are protected in this way but it's an almost unknown feature in the game. Check the chest before going hollow over lost items
It's for progression and covenant items. Everything you would need to have to beat the game is protected, and covenant rings, like the Cat Covenant Ring. Funnily enough, you can sell those Rings and just get them back, at least in the Original. I haven't played the Remastered yet, so no guarantee on that front.
The enchanted falchion is actually an amazing weapon due to the hidden AR modifier curved swords get in DS1 while two-handing since all 5 curved swords having E strength scaling and the enchanted path giving the scimtar/falchion A intelligence scaling (The painting guardian sword even gets an S) at enchanted +5.
Girlfriend is a wise one, all dogs are puppies. Also, I've made many a breakfast burrito, but never thought to chop the shells and put them in with everything else.
queelag was for me actually second boss because i took master key and somehow made it through blightown with +0 longsword it took me arou 15attemps to kill her
Maybe im being overly specific on the rules, but if you were allowed to upgrade the lightning spear, could you not degrade the occult club, and then max it to +15? Its still the same weapon, just a swapped upgrade path, and itd be much better.
Did you even upgrade the Falchion? I know there's an easily accessible blue slab before Artorias and blue chunks are probably the easiest ones to farm out of the 4 types. Don't think you had any significant amount of int but Enchanted DOES get some decent scaling, in general
I don't understand why you got the crystal halberd before occult club, they are both in Anor Londo, so you wouldn't break any rules. I think you just did it for the run to be more interesting. Btw you calling the damage on O&S abbysmal reminded me of my straight sword hilt run :D
Because of the ruleset for the challenge. Once he’s entered an area with a Mimic he cannot leave until he kills the mimic so he can’t just run past the Crystal halberd in favor of getting the club first!
@@Faesworn as I said, both are in Anor Londo, which is the same area, he could have got the occult club, then go back for the halberd and after that leave the area
I think you’re missing the point. The goal of the rule was so that he didn’t have to run PAST the Mimic. I think you need to think smaller “area” If he sees a mimic he must kill it before moving on. Regardless of it we can mental gymnastics our way into believing they are in the same area one clearly comes first. The Crystal Halberd is found as soon as you get to anor londo. I think the rule was clearly supposed to be more like if you find a mimic don’t leave the damn building that mimic is in until it’s dead.
@@Faesworn I get the point, but in the video he was talking like "I hate this, if only I could not use this weapon", I just say that by his own rules he didn't have to use it...
You can ignore me as even I understand that I look like one of those "AKSHUALLY" guys, but I'd advise you to try making rules simpler, good for your experience with the run and for content and not to add unnecessary secondary rules. A win with an asterisk doesn't feel as good as a win without one
couldnt you have downgraded the occult club into a divine club. then upgrade it divine to kill nito? i mean its the same weapon still just infused differently
since you were allowing yourself to upgrade the weapons why not let yourself downgrade weapons? you could have made the occult club into divine +5 so Nito would be much easier. also why were you 1 handing the enchanted falchion? you 2 handed with the occult club when you had the shield so if you 2 handed with the falchion your damage would have been significantly better with seath, nito, firesage and centipede
Why didn’t you kill the occult club mimic first? Then you could have killed the crystal halberd for the most part. Don’t think that breaks any of your rules
In case one doesn't know: In DS1 and 3, you look at the chain of the mimic. If the chain is pointing backwards, away from you, it's a normal chest. If the chain however is pointing AT YOU, it's a nom nom box and you should whack it.
In dark souls 2 you just fist everything
Also the mimic chests slowly breath if you look closely
I just Bonk them all
chain away keep the pain away - northern lion
@@fouadmeddah2790in ds2 you can clearly see the teeth of the mimic if you look closely (this is the best way bc of the breakable chests)

I like how this just becomes a cooking tutorial at the end
frfr
Damn that dish at the end looked....
.....eggs-cellent
You are incapable of not saying 69 puns per day aren't you

what
That cooking segment had me crying laughing, can’t wait to see more content
DS2 being my first souls game years ago, I have genuinely developed a slight PTSD from those mimics in particular so much so that to this day I still think I hear that wheezing laugh
Specially beacuse those f****rs can eat you when you awake them!
"Wow. He even used lock-on during many fights just to make it more challenging"
You could've just "downgraded" the club to Divine +5 at any blacksmith to make the Catacombs way easier for yourself.
But that wouldn't be doing the run in... good faith!
Wasn't expecting the steak and eggs tutorial. Thanks, it looks delicious.

ykw this is one of the most interesting ds video challenges I've seen in quite some time, thank you for having me along for the ride
After so many videos, you deserve the success of this one so much
idk how dev box doesnt have 100k+ subs
amazing vid
Bro that cooking segment was amazing definitely the highlight of the video for me

Really well done man, dig the style
I'm glad you took the armour off once the actual fighting started, challenge remains intact
This man really just decided to make Flank and Eggs during the vid. And he's been playing so long that it was just that time. Jesus
I thought the cooking bit was gonna be a hello fresh ad but when I realized you were literally just making some food I actually laughed out loud this was a great video
I learned more about how to cook from this video than I ever did frim my parents growing up, Thank you
Did i just witness a dark spuls video cut to a cooking show. Im subscribing.
... eh. i was so traumatized by the sens fortress mimic that i stabbed every chest after that
should've leveled vitality to quick roll again after getting symbol of avarice lol.
Another Dark Souls challenge runner! A fine addition to my collection
Him: Talks about patience.
Also Him: Has zero patience at Manus and only greeds.
Ok this video was sooo good, really funny, bro cooked literally and figuratively too😂😂😂
The best part of the video was the steak eggs recipe, can't believe I'm saying that about a Dark Souls video

I won’t be forgiving you for this genocide dev.
the cooking segment was the best part honestly lmao
Appreciate the breakfasy tutorial, very good
found you by accident and im surprised your channel is so small, youre super funny
I approve of this content, so I shall subscribe.

Didn’t expect getting out of this vid with a new dish

The challenges without glitches it’s more attractive
She's right about the puppies.

You deserve so many more subscribers!
I was hoping you would attack with the crystal shield
You can revert the club to divine+5 and the ember to level it up further is right after Pinwheel...
Not 2-handing the falchion got me heated😤
You don't need to kill Priscilla. You can just walk past her.
Or walk past the entrance to the hall the painting is in. She's a lame fight either way
bro that hit box wtf 14:01
Pisses me off that literally the first chest I and many others will find in DS3 is a mimic
Anyone who complains about you having to comply with the game railroading you is having fun wrong. The extra effort is a nice touch, though.
"having fun wrong"
queelag was for me actually second boss because i took master key and somehow made it through blightown with +0 longsword it took me arou 15attemps to kill her
19:16 I did the exact same thing here funny to see someone else doing it
Wait what? This guy has less than 2k? Damn the video was just that well made huh
Edit: bro is cooking 💀
The centipede demon always jumps out of the area and dies when I fight it, lucky I guess 😅.
a win is a win
Fun fact, you can actually do the asylum demon glitch with the darksign as well! It's not super useful but it is faster so :p
Mimics are better than Capcoms maneaters. One is the chest, so you can whack it. Maneatets hide IN the chest, so no way to know which.
Your girlfriend is correct
You equipped the estus flask, but didn't get it from a mimic. Unless... Oscar was a mimic the entire time!
I’m going to try an easier variant of this using only cheat items later today
I think I missed the rule forcing you to have crappy shield equipped for no reason 😅
Or the extra heavy health consuming helmet
16:40 calling it bad is fair since the club already has low AR for a hammer and it's infused with the worst infusion in the game.
I can confirm that all dogs are puppies.
I may be wrong but unique drops you dont pick up end up in the empty chest at firelink the one behind frampt so you didnt have to restart the run
Lightnign spear +7 comes from a mimic , no? You''ll be fine!
Its +0 isn’t it?
Ahh you might be right. It's been a while. But still plus 0 ligning spear is the equivalent of like a +7 weapon IIRC
@@pheenmachine even better! Its around +10

Hol up, I thought the comments were a joke, then i heard onions hit the pan! What the hell?
you could've tried ascending the club into a soul weapon lol
Ditching the theme of the run for shitty screen blocker known as Smough's hammer?
Could've leveled endurance like at all. So much easier then
Dude I Just started doing this run! 😄 although there aren't actually many drops to use 🙃
sooo uhh i saw that u have the master key even tho u chose your starting gift as the firebombs how does that work?
