Vendee Starts real soon. Yoann will be a leader if his boat stays in one piece. Great interview with lots of detail - but what is behind "door a" - top secret screen?
Thanks for watching! Yes, psyched this is about to start now that the America’s Cup is over (too soon, IMO). We were asked to black out certain sensitive information…Sorry! We’re behind Yoann all the way!
One thing I didn't mention is how light it is in the cabin. The visibility in the cabin was really great. It felt more like being inside a car than in a boat cabin.
I haven't seen the video yet, but I read an article in today's NY Times " How a Self-Published Book broke all the rules and became a best seller" and thought of you. The book is "The Shadow Work Journal" and it doesn't sound good. But, it does document the decline of the traditional publishing industry, so I thought you might find it interesting. Now, for me, on to watching your video. Thanks.
Yoann Richomme is a great sailor and person , thanks for the great interview and will be watching and cheering for Yoann in the upcoming Vende.
Agreed! And we'll be cheering for Yoann too!
So nice to hear a top Vendee sailor give a fantasic interview in English! Yoann's English a Great!

Fascinating details! - nicely done interview.

Great interview 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you! Charlie had a blast doing it.
@ That is obvious 🤣 With Yoann he had a good pick- what a nice and funny guy!
Great interview, what a boat, could not imagine the expense. It’s a rocket ship. $ Millions
And I wonder what their shelf life is? A few years? A lot of money, for sure….
Great interview Charlie!
Pretty amazing he scored a media pass. Classic move and a job well done!

No teak below on that machine…
Great interview Thankyou to both of you
Thank you!
"we can cross the atlantic with 60L of diesel". 15th century people be like: "Are we a joke to you".
Hahaha!
Wow. That thing is absurd. 39 kts?! I'll be lucky to get to 9 kts under full sail dead downwind in a gale. And thats good enough for me.
Bananas. It’s just bananas….
@boatfools Takes a special kinda crazy to sail on a boat like that, but if that's what the skipper here is into, I say, go for it, dude.

Thanks for that heads up! I will check it out. And many thanks for watching!
Not a cheap sport. A quick google suggests that a realistic budget to build and run an IMOCA 60 for a Globe campaign starts at around £10,000,000...
Definitely not inexpensive! Thanks for watching!
Well this is a pissah clip.
Ha! Thank you!
