Not every video is able to put you inside like this one has. When Pip show us her nav station, where she often get rest, and than the jetboil, when I saw how she is on her knees, head touching a structure of this yacht - at this moment I felt something in my stomach. It was not like a burning adrenalin driven feeling that I need to get aboard one of those things, but rather a real reminder that this are one of the most brutal yachts you can sail on. Hats off to Pip.

You have expressed in words exactly what I felt. As a sailor, too, I started looking for the dock!

Probably perfect précis of the best approach to single-handed ocean racing.... Ocean racing was described by William F. Buckley, Jr., when he was contesting Newport-Bermuda in his own boat, as "Standing under an ice cold shower tearing up $100 bills". 1970s. Now the boats are made of unobtainium. Private racers vie with corporate sponsors for scarce expertise and yard space. The solo sailor pushes the limits of sleep science. This is one of my favorite all-time videos. She is one of my heroines.

Thank you Pip. Whilst a sailor myself, the step up to modern day IMOCAs is huge - these videos are a massive help in understanding the boats and how they are handled, as well as appreciating you and what you are doing. It really helps to engage as a supporter and understand and appreciate what is going on. Awesome!

For moving the sail stack, work out a system using the winches. Maybe have a Teflon piece of material or fabric you can attach where needed and then winch the sails across that more slippery runner. Sail bags would need strong attachment points so you could hook a line to them and drag them. Or perhaps have one side of sail bag made with a slippery fabric so they slide easy

G-day Pip I did the tour with you earlier thank you. I think your boat is fantastic I have been the watching the IMOCA'S which have yet to race in your time frame and they are absolutely hammering in the Sountern Ocean and flying at the same time its amazing to be on board virtualy with the crews it truely is an experance for me anyway, I must say I only have one question and I hope you do not think me impertinent for asking what happen to the O that should give you a laugh take a look at my surname. Safe travels wherever they may take you, keep the heavy down. Cheers xx💚✌👍

Pardon my ignorance. I've seen multiple crew on a racing sailboat that do the hand cranking. Grinders?
This is the first time I've seen a single hand crank. What does it do? Is it for hydraulics? Or is it for trimming sails? Trim is unlikely i think, but..... lol
I'm very interested in racing, but also a complete sailing novice.

Thanks for the tour. What an ugly stupid boat! Sailing is supposed to be for fun, didn’t see any fun theyah. I undahstand that ocean racing boats should be fast and efficient, but this thing is fast, efficient and utterly opposed to the traditions of the sea. She does not appear to be one with the sea, but a beast set to dominate the sea........to her own peril. No one or vessel can or will conquer Neptune and his realm, of that you can be shuah!
