In this video I take a look at the Tf2 payload cart variants and rank them to create THE DEFINITIVE TEAM FORTRESS 2 PAYLOAD CART TIER LIST.
...Of course, its not "The Definitive" team fortress 2 payload cart tier list. It's all just my own opinion, I just thought "definitive" made for a better title lol. hope you enjoy!

I had no idea there were more than 4 cart types. I thought it was just default, dirty bomb, end of the line train, and the eaty mouth train.

Great video man, but you forgot Pier's payload cart! There's a burger on it, it's COMPLETELY different and deserves it's own tier above S 🍔

You may be right… its still very new though, maybe once we’ve had a bit longer with embargo it’ll earn the rep it needs
Considering the only carts in S-tier are the OG bomb cart and Lil' Chew Chew, the former being the first ever for the new gamemode and the latter being the first custom cart (which also introduces the unique train-style payload), I think S-tier have very high standards and A-tier is the reasonably highest for more contemporary takes on carts.

I do not get all of the low rankings for he Halloween carts. They’re fun and definitely more memorable than the 12+ generic bombs
What 2 years of holiday sized updates does to a community
Now I know Frontier is undoubtably an iconic and beloved Payload cart, but I have to admit I have my problems with it. Specifically while playing Demo, most carts are great places to place sticky traps, but Frontier's platform is awkward because it bounces stickies off.
I mean this is good news for everyone but Demo, but I have to put my Strange Professional Scottish Resistance to good use you know?
I mostly agree, but I have a couple that I'd nudge around compared to your final list:
• Embargo should be one higher in S tier. - The changing modes of transit, helicopter arrival, and unique look all are great. The only con for me is that the hud marker antenna thingy stands out as one of TF2's only things that is billboarded (locked to face the camera). Non-diegetic world space stuff like the spawn room barriers feels normal, but having a texture rotate towards the camera feels wrong.
• Precipice should be one lower in C tier. - Design wise it is a cauldron on an awkwardly short cart, and nothing else.
• Ghoulpit should be one higher in B tier. - It is a really unique and cool looking model that breaks from the "bomb on cart" formula, but still fits with TF2's art style and reads as a payload cart.
Also, overall great editing in the video. Nice work!

Man, you're making me wish each individual Payload and Payload Race map has its own unique Cart. Like Phoenix's cart would look like a 50's luxury car to reflect that the map is based on Route 66, or Odyssey's cart looking like a statue with blasting charges to reflect the map being a ruin excavation.
Fun fact the original payload cart also has a little message from heavy “cry some more”, same for “lil chew chew” which says “all of you are dead” on top
What 7 years of no updates does to a community
Embargo is an easy S tier for me. The fact that it changes from a relatively small cart to a giant truck is imo a very unique mechanic in and of itself, because it means the amount of cover the payload gives changes dynamically during the map. This is super noticeable if you're a blu heavy actually pushing the cart, which I was the first time I played Embargo
It was interesting to have to change tactics partway through the map, going from easy access to a small payload at the start of the map, to okay access to a very protective payload that kept me safe from snipers in the middle of the map, to the sudden jump in difficulty near the end especially on that last chokepoint
Embargo is just a great map in general

I know it's technically not a "Payload" cart, since it appears on a weird sort of Attack/Defense map, but I was kinda hoping to see the cart from Snowplow make an appearance :P

The truck was technically a payload cart since you had to push it (you accepted lil chew chew, so this has to count too), but i dont see it on the tier list

the truck is technically just a phase of the embargo payload, but I can see how they can be counted as separate carts. Either way, I agree, A tier for sure that payload is awesome.
Gonna be honest, I didn’t even know MOST of these existed, despite Payload being my favorite game mode! LOL

I love Lil Chew Chew mainly cause it blocks Sniper slightlines for anyone who pushes the cart lol

it technically doesn't count but I wonder where the civilian would be on this since in Team Fortress classic and Team Fortress 2 classic he's the payload. for the people unaware in Team Fortress classic payload race and payload did not exist and the closest mode there was had someone called the civilian in it where you'd escort them to the end like payload and in this mode the civilian was playable and you need to keep them alive.

For me, it's such a piece of shit map, that I actually sorta like it for that because it becomes hilarious, but damn, that's definitely not enough to get over the bad lagging due to amount of crap being on screen, and especially those HORRENDOUS sniper sightlines, holy moly.
I'm actually not that fond of the Frontier cart because it stutters and lags when you push this bloody thing. Although, maybe it's a "me" problem and my internet connection, other than that it's really cool.
