This is my parents generation, I recently lost my dad. He was 17 in Korea during Vietnam. I think of him, and all those who have served... crying
Our family, friends, & brave hero's deserve so much from all of us. They where called to do a job which they did. Many were only scared kids running through jungles and deserve to be honored like the true hero's that they are. We lose so many Vietnam Vets. as time marches on so tell them thanks for being hero's, thanks for doing what your country asked you to do.
I saw Billy Joel in concert while I was in college. I'll never forget this song. When the spotlights all moved to the back of he stage with all of the folks swaying back and forth singing the chorus - it was one of the most moving things I'd ever seen.

I've never been a fan of Garth Brooks' music but he has always seemed to be a good guy and this was a helluva performance. A marvelous vocal and just a very classy and beautiful tribute. And Billy Joel was moved to tears! Absolutely awesome. Thank you vets....

Just to show I am not a complete ass, I did not see this was from the Kennedy Honors show. He did show class and is an awesome artist.
It is a very good version, but the original packs such a punch and brings a tear to the eye. Especially with the vets singing background.
