What a voice... so nice to hear early in the morning here in Davao City Philippines... it blessed me... GOD be with us all along with her sweet and angelic voice...
Linda is such a gift. We are blessed to hear this voice and the many beautiful songs she recorded. Truly a wonderful human being too. Generous to other artists. Performing in so many genres. An angel.
Linda Rondstant deserves praise for being the most versitile American vocalist. She has done pop, country, folk, torch standards, soul, opera, rock AND has sung in Spanish and French as well as English. She has sounded marvelous in all of these genres. The notes she can hit is amazing. I remember watching her on t.v. with my mom and dad, when she sang "Ave Maria".My parents just said "wow"
This is one woman who has accepted with grace what life has thrown at her. I haven't read how she's doing recently but she has a cruel disease that has robbed her of her voice and the ability to sing. God Bless her!
Beautiful. I had an entire "Linda Ronstadt wall" when I was a teenager... :O) Posters, picture disc, & eventually, a signed/framed photo. As a musician/singer myself, it's great to see when someone is REALLY feeling a song-because hey, singers are human, have moods, & depending on what's going on in their lives, or what they've experienced, they may/may not be fully "in" a song while they're singing it. Sure looks like she was IN this one... Kudos to Eric Kaz, the songwriter. What a GREAT song.
Seems I've been spending more time lately listening and watching Linda make every song she ever sang her own both artistically and emotionally. I fell in love with her one night in South Orange, NJ in 1974 and it was magical and transforming. I was there for Jackson Browne but came away with the missing notes in my young adult life. A few weeks before I had seen Bruce Springsteen at the Joint in the Woods in Pasipanny and now my inner triangle and emotional compass was set. I was ready to make my way in a confusing and uncertain world with new songs and renewed hope in my heart. The beautifully raw and honest way Linda sings all her songs, especially Love Has No Pride, is cathartic and inspiring. Like a first love she has always been there, even though I have often drifted away and been distant. But we always seem to return to those important places from where we began. I feel I need her now more than I probably ever needed her back then. And I believe she needs us (me) more now than ever before. Truth is we are all tied together by a shared common thread of love and hope that is fixed in time but measured in eternity, however that may be defined or realized. Thank you Linda for the inspiration to express these things in my own words. And it's ok if my first ever comment is too long and never gets read or liked. Because this is really just from my heart to yours. Thank you for the way I felt when I heard you sing this song back then, and the way I'm feeling this afternoon after listening to you sing it from the heart once again. Take care and be well my friend. Peace. Joe F
Joe Fox Appreciated your heartfelt comment. So glad you found your way to her concert that night. Music really is a conduit to the human soul. Ms. Ronstadt will be 75 on July 15, and seems to be coping as best a human being can with the ongoing assault on her body by this thing called supranuclear palsy. In regard to the enormity of her talent, the woman seems to be devoid of ego. I do hope there will be some recognition of her birthday, if for no other reason, that more people will be introduced to that spectacular voice.
Linda chose her songs so carefully. They all touch my heart with her singing in a way that just makes me cry like a baby. Nobody else can me cry tears of happiness and sadness at the same time. She is just otherworldly, an angel sent down to us from Heaven above.
@ 59yrs old (man) I can tell you where I was. Who I was with. What turn table I used. The speakers. The color of the walls. The temperature outside. The temperature "inside". And sooo much more. Amazing, what memories music can awaken. I'd be lying if I said I don't miss those times.
I don't know about what bits of her songs that get airplay now but I agree that she is the best, ever. I have tried at work to get people to listen but they have not heard and are not interested - breaks my heart. To me she is the best female singer ever.
I would be interested in this. I did not realise she had any airplay at all these days. I do love her early days with the Stone Poneys. I saw them described as "Hacks" on You Tube recently. I think they were lovely folk musicians and she sang some lovely affecting folk songs with them. She brought Kenny Edwards with her into her new "rock" phase. She moved with the times as I guess she had to. I loved her rock chick incarnation. It was what came after I didn't.
..Love has no pride when I cal out your name..and there's no one left to blame than ..I've been alone for to many times..The most brutally honest story of you and me ..ever written...Linda and Bonnie Raitt make it almost to personal
Even if she never had a hit record her place in history would be assured because the Eagles were formed to be her backup band. After they split company, Andrew Gold (Lonely Boy, Thank you for being a friend) was her lead guitarist.
Such a fantastic supporter, when I call out your name Una, I too recognise Linda's enormous talent, the best of the best, but to find a tru friend that loves her like I do is puzzling, but I too took a long time to realise just how wonderful Linda truly is
@PhoenixMoonStudio if you don't have any luck for amazon, try ebay, and if no luck their, go to google and type in The Little Rascals Soundtrack and click on shopping, hope that helps :)
Funny that you would mention Linda's teeth because if you watch a recent interview with her she has had her teeth fixed. While they are beautiful, Linda no longer looks right. I think she made a bad decision.

Linda Ronstadt was one of those performers who virtually owned most of the 70's. She reigned supreme. I really miss those days.

The best ever... GOD bless

True...
What can you say about a song like this? It still can stand on its own, all this years later. A masterpiece just gets better with age.
Agree with you with all my heart...
Wow. A real heartbreaker and a real singer.
Great singer we have here...
Love her music, Beautiful voice!
THIS CLASSIC MASTERPIECE STILL TEARS ME UP !!
And she was 'live pure' in all of her performances -- she never ceased to produce in her live voice.
Great and amazing voice...

Stunning! A voice that soars with the eagles and then melts into velvet. and such a Gorgeous Lady she is; the definition of femininity.
a thing of beauty is a joy forever.
Yes that's what she said.
Staggering. Stunning torch sadness.
My Sweet Linda!👏🙏❤
What a classic! Just beautiful!
Love this woman
I love Linda Ronstadt. What a beautiful strong voice.

get the shivers listening
Great song and a magnificent musician great combinations.
What a great video! I saw her live in person in '75, and just recently talked with a colleague who went to high school with her in Tucson.
I don't know about what bits of her songs that get airplay now but I agree that she is the best, ever. I have tried at work to get people to listen but they have not heard and are not interested - breaks my heart. To me she is the best female singer ever.
She was the best. How can anyone not like this ?
Better than the original recording. And, IMO the best of all the concert recordings here on YT. Oh, they're all great, but this one really gets me.
Anotheryou21 Agree - killer version. Nothing comes close to Ronstadt on those nights when her and that voice were totally turned on.
I'm cryin' in my bourbon here! What a voice!
Nomad Ryder Yes, she has a voice that has that effect.
All I can add is I wish that what passes for music today would sound this good.
Remember how it became 'torch rock'', one immensely talented woman's own category.
As long as she lives, she remains on the top!!!
I luv Linda's version of this song and also Bonnie Raitt rules also!
Gosh........Wow...........awesome ..........
The best song ever: Best singer ever!
Oh, Linda, you break my heart with this.......

Linda always managed those big notes with no effort.
Lady Gag-Me, eat your heart out!!!

Sneaky Pete Kleinow accompanying her on steel guitar. Doesn't get any better than this!
@PhoenixMoonStudio Well the best thing I could tell you is to buy the Little Rascals Soundtrack.
@PhoenixMoonStudio Have you tryed amazon.com?
friends who once cared just walked out my door
Linda Ronstadt gets the same adoration from some Americans as Teresa Teng gets from some Chinese...
Oh, that overbite. Sigh.
Funny that you would mention Linda's teeth because if you watch a recent interview with her she has had her teeth fixed. While they are beautiful, Linda no longer looks right. I think she made a bad decision.
Agree. I love the perfect imperfections that women wear. Shame that they look at it sometimes as a eyesore.
