- Linda Ronstadt sings "Down So Low", a song written by Tracy Nelson, at the Stadthalle in Offenbach, Germany on November 16th, 1976. Original broadcast - Rockpalast TV Show.
I have adored her for over 50 years. I think this is one of her best songs
She doesn’t waste a breath, emotion. Linda is the Queen. This woman has accompanied me through my whole life. I saw this concert in Kansas City 1976. Senior years of High School.
Quite a statement Mark. Agreed, Linda is the finest, not a day passes that she isn't in my thoughts.
Nobody's got pipes like Linda. Pure voice of an angel. And note there are no back up singers here; just Linda and the band. She is irreplaceable.
Her voice is beyond singing a song. ❤ Touching a chord in our hearts 🥰
She has perfect pitch and massive range. A very rare combination indeed.
If a female vocalist can belt out during an audition they will surely get the gig!
This is pure greatness truly a gift from a higher being 🌹🫶
In credible vocal performance, perfect pitch and control. Very underrated song as well.
Linda masterclass. This is her finest song, her greatest performance to me. 🔥
She really steps out of herself here which is even more difficult as she is live. I loved this rendition on the Hasten Down the Wind album but this live version transcends every version ever sung. Love Linda Ronstadt.❤️
Gut wrenching emotion.
I cried when I first heard this in ‘76. And I still do, to this day. No one has lamented a lost love better than Linda.
She is the soundtrack of my life. Goosebumps, tears and a lump in my throat!
Lost a beautiful love in 76. This is so how I felt. Soulful heartfelt!
Ronstadt's vibrato and range is STELLAR-showcased in this cover song.
Wonderful , amazing Linda ❤️👏🏽🙌🏻
Other than missing my dear parents, I really have no reason to cry….until I hear Ms.Linda deliver this song. It comes from a place of pure pain yet it’s so very beautiful.
Yes well put, beautifully sad. Tears of joy and sadness at the same time, and a lump in my throat that makes me speechless! Oh my God, she is the only woman that can turn me into a pile of mush!
Not only was her voice pure magic, she was all heart too. Just a wonderful talent and a pleasure to listen to. I wish these days never ended.
Linda, Linda, beautiful Linda.
Of the time spent of the places you went you can hold nothing but content I was young when you first came about now I know there’s no doubt you are the one the beautiful one
💢🤍💢
Pure power.
And control. A voice like no other.....pure perfection!
damnnnnn !.....she's fantastic
🌹
Wow…sigh …
Nobody like Linda!
So true!!!!
Your a nobody who care what u say. Yet ur on her page. Lol
What kind of sorcery created that voice?
Agreed, otherworldly and captivating. The spell she casts is forever unbreakable!
Free Live Broadcast for West German television. I wish 70's era socialism had prevailed.
This interpretation by Linda bought Tracey Nelson a farm.
Enough said !!!
Tracy Nelson ( who wrote the song ) has the best version on Austin city limits 1977. Check it out. One of the most emotionally charged vocals I've ever heard in my life. Even more than Linda's cover.
Tracy is incredible but there is something about Linda’s cover that appeals more to me. I’ve listened to several recommend covers of Down So Low but Tracy and Linda versions stand alone
I perfer Linda's version over any other. It's pure perfection.
Linda's expressions and body language show she is feeling what she is singing. You can empathise with her.
..not for children
