And to answer your other question - It was a great Engine, very well built - better quality than the Lifan's I've owned. I didnt have it long though because I switched back to a Semi-Auto, my bike has pedals, so cannot have a foot brake - the clutch and rear brake lever on the same side was an accident waiting to happen (I could have went to a dual cable brake lever on the right, but then you dont have as much control over which brake to use).

The bolt pattern for the two ends of the intake manifold are different (one is directly across from each other, 180/180, the other is something like 120/240) so you cannot install the manifold the wrong way - as such the spacers have the same hole pattern and cannot be used in the wrong position.
The shorter bolts didn't fit where I showed them as I was just indicating how the other bolts were the correct ones because they were the only ones long enough.

Your right - You do NOT screw it in.... I'd just done oil changes on all my lawn equipment and they are all screw in. Thanks for the heads up, I corrected my annotation.
nicely done but little advice ,,, coperslip every bolt you take out before re assembly ,, and little tip with gaskets ,, smear them with engine oil before assy ,, that way thay come off the next time without sticking to surfaces and destroying the gasket . and the ground down bolt flange is instant rust sopt ,,just replace the bolts with socket head stainless problem solved

The Piranha's are made by Dirtmax. Its build quality is better than the Lifan I have. I believe that the Pitster engines are also made by Dirtmax - rank the same, they are just imported by different companies who rebadge them.

i think you made a mistake when installing the intake. That black spacer is supposed to go between the intake and the carburetor. The intake should bolt directly to the head, with a paper gasket in the middle. That is why the shorter bolts didn't reach far enough into the threads.
It's a good engine. I have a Lifan also, and the build quality of the Piranha is much nicer. If you search for YX140 you should find plenty of good comments - Piranha just import and rebrand the YX as their own, but its the same engine.
im trying to put one of these in an apollo and im stumped, the last part i have to do is wire the cdi and the ignition connector is not the same
What Apollo I'm about to do the same . Also are you using same cdi and wires off old motor or did you get new with the 140

Great video and great engine. Except that you are in error about screwing in the oil dipstick to check the crankcase oil level. Since the dawn of time, all Asian engine oil levels are checked by simply pushing the stick in, and pulling it out. Screw it down to seal it, but to check it, in and out. Also you tightened your valve adjuster lock nut with the feeler gauge in place, bad practice. ok I'm done. Did they sell you this engine saying it had a lighting coil? It doesn't. Thanks again for a great and very useful video.

Are you sure about the oil level check? On my chinese 125 cc, the manual says to dip it, not screw it in. Same for various honda and yamaha engines i've worked on. Haven't seen a manual for this type of engine yet.

I've heard you should do first start up with the crap oil that comes in the engine, then replace it after that with good oil. I guess that's not true?
The oil it comes with is of such low quality that it's not recommended to run the engine on it. change the oil to a non synthetic 10 weight 40 for your break in period. Afterwards change to whatever oil you like.

I'm 235-240 and this had more pull than I dared make use of.
It's "Cooler Ready", has the oil fittings already on the head, should just need to be hooked up. I've never done it so cant be 100% though.

i know this fits into a motoped, but could you tell me are there any considerations/constraights??
It mounts no problem - the included intake fits without any clearance issues too (I mounted a Mikuni VM26-606).
BUT - Unless your getting the foot peg kit so you can have a foot operated rear brake I wouldn't recommend a manual clutch engine on the Motoped. Having the clutch and a brake lever on one side is a mistake in the making. You could run a dual brake lever on one side and just the clutch on the other but then you lose some brake control.
See my comment in response to Alex's Bikes and Motor's - In summary, That lower spacer is designed to go there, it wont fit anywhere else due to the bolt pattern.

I liked it and it seems popular online, only went to a Honda CRF50 Motor as I prefer Semi Auto and wanted to run lights (can buy an aftermarket stator for the CRF).

i have a 140 estart.I cant get mine to run, I have spark and fuel, brand new battery but it wont run, just cranks over, have any ideas where to look?

I just put one of these in my SSR 125 and it revs way to high then it should at idle any idea why n how did you connect a Killswitch to it
Maybe the idle screw needs some adjusting

Đức Đức Semi-syntethic will do fine, but full-synthetic is recommended if you're cranking up the engine for a long period of time, or live in a cold area.
