    I am no expert but that engine looks brand new inside. When I was young I bought a motorcycle that was sitting outside for many years, managed to start it up and drove it for 2 years without changing anything, not even the oil, and sold it as it was for double the price. LOL. I would be so scared to put all those pieces back together. Great job!

    In Brazil, the CG 125 OHV was in production from 1976 to 2008, being CG 125 at launch, in 1990, it was renamed CG 125 Today, receiving the CDI replacing the platinum in 1992 and also some improvements in the engine, in 1995 it passed to be called CG125 Titan, in 2000 Titan underwent a redesign of the motorcycle, receiving some improvements in internal parts and adoption of electric start, in 2005 it was renamed CG125 Fan, until the end of production of OHV engines in 2008 due to engine no longer meets the restrictions of Promot III. It was the best-selling motorcycle for 32 years. The CG 125 Fan continued to be manufactured from 2009, but with a completely different engine, derived from the CG150 Titan OHC, launched in 2004, the 2009 CG 125 OHC was nicknamed "Bufa".

    I had a 71 Honda SL-125 that eventually had a 145cc powroll kit installed on it and before I did the kit on it i tried blowing it up to see just how tough the little 125 engine was and just held it WTFO for well over 2 minutes straight and nothing WTF that surprised the hell out of me thought for sure it would let loose after just a minute NOPE 🤣💪💪😎
    Owned and raced alot of
    Honda XR's AND CR 's and I'd have to say that those old air-cooled XR 's were damn near bullet proof ! Keep your oil/filter clean, air filter clean and a fresh plug every now n then and that engine will last

    First Honda was a little 50cc mini bike, the kind with the folding handle bars, I was 11. At 14 my uncle gave me a CB160. Beautiful bike, like new and so sweet. Then before I was 16 I got a CL350 that was also a nice bike but not as nice as the 160. After the 350 I switched to Suzuki and had a GT550 triple two stroke. Loved that bike, two strokes for the win!!! When it hit the power band, the front wheel comes up. Never get tired of that. That was my senior year in high school. Two years after graduating.. time to get a new bike. Bought a 79 Suzuki GS1000 off the showroom floor, paid $2500 for it. Another very sweet bike, fast, smooth and sounded so good. Love cruising in the mountains, wife on the back, tent, sleeping bag. Sold it after 2 years for $2500. Next bike was an 84 Honda Nighthawk 700. Another great bike, loved riding that thing through the country roads. It was stolen when I was in Houston... Didn't get another one until 87 when I picked up a GS800 and restored it. It too was stolen from my apartment in Dallas around '91. Haven't had one since. In between the GS1000 and the 700 nighthawk I had a Honda 200X 3 wheeler. That was more fun than should be allowed. Loved riding it on dirt roads, sliding sideways through the corners. Spraying dirt and rocks everywhere.

      Extranho... uma restauração não se limita a limpar e pintar o velho motor, senäo a verificar com um manual do fabricante as medidas de cada componente, suas tolerâncias e a substituição daqueles que estiverem fora da medida, isso não passa de uma lavada de cara...
      A mais, deveria ter feito funcionar para demostrar o resultado...
      Você compraría esse motor?

    • @MarceloAleK
      @MarceloAleK Рік тому +1

      Cara eu acho que ele fez a substituição de peças e reutilizou as que ainda tava em um bom estado, depois que ele mostra as pecas pintadas dava para ver que os redentores eram novos...
      Esse cara do video tem varios outros em restauração de motores, acho que ele sabe bem oque ta fazendo, se fosse me confirmado que o motor esta bom para uso, compraria tranquilo.

    You can still get a new one in the Philippines. Currently marketed as the TMX 125. Assembled at the Honda plant here from domestic and Chinese parts. There are also knockoffs marketed as Skygo, Rusi, MotorStar and others at varying levels of build quality and price but even the Honda badged machine is only around $1,000 USD.

      @@marcofrancioso6348 Dear Marco, When you put out piston with that's 2 types of rings from cylinder after several years of using them, they should change with brand new one because they (Rings) will deform after exiting from cylinder and maybe appear micro cracks on them.

    • @ichbins8588
      @ichbins8588 Рік тому

      I was also wondering why he didn't change the wear parts.
      Most of these parts (gaskets, ball bearings etc.) are easily available and don't cost a fortune, but I'd strongly recommend to use a NOS piston (if necessary!) and piston rings, as aftermarket parts by my experiance often show low quality.

    I don't understand why there is so much "hate" on this video
    I thought a restoration is when he uses the same parts and cleaning them
    And a repair would be when you replaced some parts due to damaged or just because they are not good to be used again
    But as the name said "restoration" not "Repair"
    I may be wrong, but I relly liked this video, is really impressive how many oarts this motors have
    And the guy just disassembled everything an put it back in again.
    10/10🎉

    I remember every part of that engine well, watching you dismantle and assemble it reminds me of my off-road go-kart (it was exactly the same) in the early '90s that we used for a friendly championship on dirt and mud tracks. It was thrilling, but when it broke down, it was often the valve plate that caused the trouble. And when the valve descended into the cylinder and met the rising piston, it meant a big loss.

    dude , you cleaned , bondo, and painted a already clean motor , no new bearings, no rebuild, at least do crank bearings, wrist pin , rings, quick couple of passes with honing bar, you had it apart, the parts are cheap and easy to install , and you really should get feeler gauges adjust the clearance on the rocker arms/ valves, not just torque it all back together, and for christmas sakes when you bolt down any cyl head always cris cross pattern =front left, rear right, front right, rear left,ect, if you gonna call it a full resto than do it right never put a top end back together without at least replacing the rings , and as many of the bearings as you can...........PS- bondo?????my man, bondo and spray paint ....just no.
