Hey man. What did you use to clean the engine parts?
This is a Honda CG 125 an everday motorcycle for millions of Pakistanis still in 2023 and still being produced in very large numbers.
Brazil too, but no longer produced
in Indonesia it is also no longer being produced, but many builders are rebuilding it,, on average they make the engine 200cc ++
@@bimauma yeeeah here too bro
How much is a new engine? We don't have them in the USA. If you find one from someone selling, it's very expensive. Those old Honda engines are very desirable.
@@riskybusiness3413 bro i dunno, here in brazil we can find a motorcycle in the state of the one in the video and still running for 900 reais that is 178 dollars, but a restored one is like 7.000 Reais, that is 1.373 dollars
Am always amazed at how people can disassemble and reassemble an engine. Looks like sorcery to me.
Man look like assembling Alico pieces. 🗿💔
If you study the craft long enough and do hands on work, you'll figure it out, but itll be Greek during the learning process I'm sure
Its really not that bad. I did my first rebuild at 13. You just gotta kerp track of how things go together
I feel you broh 😂😂😂
Really amazing piece of work! Very impressive. Must say though that I was a little surprised that after going to all that work, you didn't grind the valve seats or change the piston rings.
Really enjoyed it though! 😀
Psh
Neither did he bore the cylinder
I know, you're right. But this is obviously not a real engine rebuild. It's more for fun and looks, like a museum display piece.
I was gonna say the same I was like why isn't he changing the piston rings
Yeah but he did smear some Bondo on it and sand it back off so there's that
It’s really nice to know that most bike engines are somewhat similar, so not only was I satisfied, but I also learned a lot watching this
This brings back memories, I had one of these bikes for years, I rode one from North Wakes, to Cottingham, in Hull, for my part one and two training, did the full journey there on one tank, did my training and part one test, and all part two training, than went home on the Sunday. I passed my part two test shortly after. Happy times.
Sim meu amigo 🤜🏼🤛🏼🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
In Brazil, the CG 125 OHV was in production from 1976 to 2008, being CG 125 at launch, in 1990, it was renamed CG 125 Today, receiving the CDI replacing the platinum in 1992 and also some improvements in the engine, in 1995 it passed to be called CG125 Titan, in 2000 Titan underwent a redesign of the motorcycle, receiving some improvements in internal parts and adoption of electric start, in 2005 it was renamed CG125 Fan, until the end of production of OHV engines in 2008 due to engine no longer meets the restrictions of Promot III. It was the best-selling motorcycle for 32 years. The CG 125 Fan continued to be manufactured from 2009, but with a completely different engine, derived from the CG150 Titan OHC, launched in 2004, the 2009 CG 125 OHC was nicknamed "Bufa".
It is still produced in Pakistan. I have one 2018 Model Cg125 OHV with same classic look with a bit changes
No wonder the reason these engines last forever. It's plain to see where the difference in comparison with the others engines are,
these things are still in production here in Pakistan, same old 70's design with little bit changes. i have a 2017 model.
Here in the Philippines theres the version called the "TMX125 Alpha" which is a OHC version of the old CG125, internally called the CCG125, it has alot of copycats around the country, especially the engine which is such a common sight in copycat motorcycle manufacturers here competing on which can offer the lowest price of tricycle use.
Still in production up to this day in Philippines
Work of art!!! Great Job.
Fun to watch for sure. Thank you for taking us along.
Is there a specific reason why you chose not to replace all bearings, rings and some other wear-items while you already had invested this much time into disassembly?
its just all paint bearings are not that expensive butt its entertainment only.
we never heard it run first and after..
and it was complete not trash.the frame made it look terrible .
that motor was ok from the beginning ,frame made so too look bad .
entertainment only.

👏👏👏 BRAVO!!... PERFECT!!. 👍👍
Another excellent restoration the only thing I would say maybe could have been different is to paint the Honda black to match the top cover tying it all together.
Simply magnificent! outstanding restoration, keep up the great work:). Esses motores em Durabilidade são campeões ️.
I know nothing about cars but this is awesome love seeing an expert do their thing
More of a deep cleaning than a resto!
Except for honing the cylinder wall and new rings and grinding the valve seats, that was a flashback to my youth when I rebuilt an Mt 125. Nice work.
Possibly simple four-stroke engine arrangement and therefore so vital. Good job, congratulations!
Thank you for likes 😀.
It's a 2 stroke I think
@@AR15rules No, four stroke engine 😀.
@@ZygmuntKiliszewski most motorcycle engines are 2 stroke, and judging by the fact that there's only one piston, I think it might be 2 stroke
@@AR15rules why is he draining the oil out if it is two stroke hmm??
Very nice restauration!
I would have loved to hear it run
Tenho uma CG 1980. Demorei 2 anos para o restauro completo. Ficou espetacular!!!
Tôi cũng có 1 chiếc 1990
Motor totalmente restaurante e ficou novo 😊 ótimo trabalho nesse motor da Honda 125.
I can see why most people give up these projects, one look at all those parts and I would give up too. Persevere, this project's looking awesome!
Not that many parts that’s as simple as an engine comes
You never forget your 1st. First engine I ever rebult in 1983. So many memories 😊
I absolutely love these engines, I have a few clones of these and they are rock solid and cheap/easy to work on, no rattly timing chains and super reliable. Well done on this one, it looks super good after you restored it. Wrench on man!
u can import a new one from PAKISTAN , it still manufactures these old 1970s bikes. Would be extremely inexpensive bike 😅😃🤣🙃🤣
Look for LATAM motorbikes, brazil, arg, etc. Plenty of 125/150/190cc engines, 2 valves, 4 valves, carburated or FI, u name it👍
I wonder if the frame and tires will be one video or split into two?🤔
Awesome job!!! ❤️❤️❤️👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Thank you very much. I cleaned my engine step by step watching your guide
Excelente trabalho.
Very nice!. Too bad we didn't get to see it run.....
Extraordinary, fantastic
I am no expert but that engine looks brand new inside. When I was young I bought a motorcycle that was sitting outside for many years, managed to start it up and drove it for 2 years without changing anything, not even the oil, and sold it as it was for double the price. LOL. I would be so scared to put all those pieces back together. Great job!
I really would like it if you could start adding in what liquids your using, what color paint/primer. Etc. Just in 1 of the corners. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
A very reliable engine, very easy to troubleshoot and to maintain
It's incredible how this video doesn't seem to be 30 minutes long, I watched every second and I was so fascinated by the excellent work that I didn't even see the time pass. This video is a masterpiece
This video was much interesting and perfect in restoration…If it included the full restoration of the bike that have been phenomenal. Anyways awesome😊👍🏻👍👌🏻
Made a very good video. Encouragement from Thailand.
Yes very cool 😎
Nossa ficou 10 👏👏👏👏👏
Nice job. Brought it back to life 👍
Dude this is literally what I’ve been looking for
Restauração top! Mecânico profissional.
Will she start? nobody knows
You forgot to check, clean and grind the valve seats. It is no use going through all this trouble finding out you have no compression.
Interesting engine.
Superb workmanship.
Inspiring video.
Thank you.
He just cleaned it.
Respect !! Very nice work. And editing.
Yes very cool 😎
I remember these 70s engines, extremely rugged and reliable.
excellent job. Keep making new videos my friend. excelente trabalho. Continue fazendo novos vídeos, meu amigo.
Very nice and helpful video. In this procedure, your should change Piston, Piston Rings, Carburetor internal parts, complete gasket kit, ball bearings with brand new parts. Thank you Sir.
Maybe he has checked clearances and pistone an Rings are ok
@@marcofrancioso6348 Dear Marco, When you put out piston with that's 2 types of rings from cylinder after several years of using them, they should change with brand new one because they (Rings) will deform after exiting from cylinder and maybe appear micro cracks on them.
I was also wondering why he didn't change the wear parts.
Most of these parts (gaskets, ball bearings etc.) are easily available and don't cost a fortune, but I'd strongly recommend to use a NOS piston (if necessary!) and piston rings, as aftermarket parts by my experiance often show low quality.
Legendary little engine in its own right
It was a restoration, not a rebuild. That's why no metal parts were replaced. It was beautiful! I enjoyed watching every minute of it! I don't know why I find it so satisfying to watch!👍
OMG! Beatiful I could only wish I could perfect such a rebuild.....Very Very Nice....Production was spot on....
Man it sounds great.
Excellent video/skills. I just noticed you didn't remove the crankshaft bearings' seals, which were out on original bearings for lubrication .
Even me I noticed that maybe the piston have been fixed back without o rings
You can still get a new one in the Philippines. Currently marketed as the TMX 125. Assembled at the Honda plant here from domestic and Chinese parts. There are also knockoffs marketed as Skygo, Rusi, MotorStar and others at varying levels of build quality and price but even the Honda badged machine is only around $1,000 USD.
Amazing Job 👏🏻
Respect!
Yes very cool 😎

The guy just sanded valves in place. I'm done.
Simply magnificent! outstanding restoration, keep up the great work:)
I enjoyed it a lot and the cartoon was great. I have a Honda cdi 125, which is one of the generations after cg, and it has worked for about 30,000 km, and I think my clutch plate should be changed, but I really didn't want to open the door of my engine because it had not been opened before and it was the company's seal. But eventually I have to do it. Thanks again for your good video❤
You should get a parts washer. Some are self-contained, so need for plumbing.
I am super excited for final part please upload the final video it’s been so long and just waiting ❤❤❤❤
Brother you make it like new very good job.each and every thing looking good. Very satisfying video.👌👌👌👌👍👍👍👍
Excelente 🛵
quel beau travail ! magnifique ! bravo !
We learned a lot from your video, thank you for this.👍🏻
Why did you go through all that and not pull the valves and lap them?
To get views.
Wait your not going to fire it up?
I had a 71 Honda SL-125 that eventually had a 145cc powroll kit installed on it and before I did the kit on it i tried blowing it up to see just how tough the little 125 engine was and just held it WTFO for well over 2 minutes straight and nothing WTF that surprised the hell out of me thought for sure it would let loose after just a minute NOPE 🤣💪💪😎
Owned and raced alot of
Honda XR's AND CR 's and I'd have to say that those old air-cooled XR 's were damn near bullet proof ! Keep your oil/filter clean, air filter clean and a fresh plug every now n then and that engine will last
FOREVER 💪😎👍
Why are these videos so satisfying?!
Restauração top! Mecânico profissional.. Isso sim é uma restauração de respeito.
I think it's not a restoration but only cleaning
Wow bravo ., I enjoyed it thanks bro
Very beautiful work!!!!!
Good job.😊
Yes very cool 😎
Now that it is clean, take it apart again and actually rebuild it, not just make it look better.
Hello
Thank you very much and well done
This HONDA CG 125 engine model is very abundant in Iran
And 70% of the engines in Iran are of this model and I have one of these models
These engine models are very good engines and are compatible and efficient in all weather conditions
Thank you 👌🌹?

Can you make your own video how then please
I love this little engine I used to have one. The 100 cc is also extremely reliable.
amazing restoration master

Impressive restoration!
When you fired it up are the end it was so smooth but the exhaust sounded like music.
Don´t call it restoation....it´s a good cleaning and painting. Nothing else. Sorry but true.
