I love how in the past few episodes there's always been a convenient cave, or mine handy for them to hide their mechs in or travel through. It's like night-boat. ....night mech?
Timber Wolf is the clan name for what the inner Sphere called the Mad Cat. when the clans invaded, their mechs were completely unknown, so the Inner Sphere gave them reporting names. so many clan mechs have two names. the clan name, and one the inner Sphere uses.
To expand on this, when the Timber Wolf was first seen the IS targeting computers couldn't identify it by profile. It would Cycle MAD (Marauder) and CAT (Catapult) designations since it looks to be an amalgamation of the two.
@GhostBear3067 1) Kommandant is the equivalent of Major in House Steiner. 2) There are a couple of configurations of the Centurion that ARE jump capable.
5:00 Jeez, it's a good thing these Clan Mechs don't heat up otherwise that Mad Cat would be on fire. I mean, two Cl. ER. Large Lasers in each arm going off like that is crazy.
First off, in Lethal Heritage; Victor's mech was a Victor, not a Mauler, and Cox piloted a Crusader, not a Centurion. And they did get Galen Cox's hair colour wrong too.
for me, it's either the wolfhound or the victor, customize the gear and watch me go. I had a wolfhound that could drop an atlas once, granted the wolfhound would often be either horribly damaged or destroyed after the atlas went down, but hey, ends justify the means.
actually, twin CERLL only generate 24 heat, and the Timber Wolf has 15 double heat sinks, allowing it to sink up to 30. as long as the mech doesn't add in it's ER mediums or LRM's at the same time, it would remain nice and cool. the video games tended to nerf heat sink effectiveness to try and make things more dramatic.
In the universe, yes. In the TV show, no --- The Periphery worlds often rely on work animals to harvest crops. I've also seen them in use in at least one of the BattleTech books in combat.
ugh, on trell I Victor didn't pilot a Centurion, he piloted a 'Mech called a Victor, and Galen piloted a Crusader, the only thing they got right at 6:00 were the quotes and the Thor they were fighting
***** Trellwan was also a planet that tended to mountains and glaciers, not deserts. errors like that, as well as the general cornyness of the show, is why the tabletop game's setting has relegated the events of this TVshow to being an 'in universe' TVshow.. basically in the game's setting, it was a TVshow as well, made years after the clan invasion and all the historical accuracy of Xena:warrior princess. :)
@GhostBear3067 although Pryde is famous as a Jade Falcon khan name, it is here referred to as the sakhan of the unofficial sect clan ice demons, who are embedded secretly in the clan Ice Hellions, whose job is to cordinate with the diamond sharks to keep the clans in line.(as set down by Kerensky himself)
I'm thinking that Stevens may have been an agent for Katrina Steiner, especially since he speaks of "factions within the Federated Commonwealth who favor a more worthy successor to the throne..."
That's her, but as a staunch Davionist (and to keep from getting confused), always kept calling her "Katherine". I know she changed her name to Katrina, but that was just political maneuvering.
I don't really mind much about Clan Wolf, they're the writers poster boys in CBT. It's a kids (preteen) saterday morning cartoon. It's not going to adhere to the Battletech fluff.
Not as hard as it may seem. Though I say this from the perspective of someone whose been taught in making 3D models, but I catch your drift. Though I must admit I like the blocky-ness of alot of the Inner Sphere designs as it is fairly easy to make them
@HachiZenki 1) Not all "Mechs have jumpjets... 2) There are other vehicles in use in the BattleTech universe (cars, trains, even horses) 3) Jump Jets have a high heat cost
notice how low-quality the animations were... and the limited number of mechs they drew. no way they're gonna animate a victor when they can just reuse a centurion and anytime you see a centurion in this cartoon you can probably be sure it's gonna get blown up, hahaha
Seriusly clans don't eject?, doesn't that go against their don't waist policy? Manpower is an invaluable recourse a high end warrior can be a turning point in a battle, 3ton battle computer vrs a 180, 200pound Mechwarrior, one of these can be spared and one is a waist of recorcess
Failure is worse that WASTE. Failing and surviving a battle is dishonorable and humiliating. Clan MechWarriors want to die in battle and not live to old age. That's why they make fun of Pytor in this series.
In the game lore: Zellbrigen, the clan version of chivalry, is a formal agreement that applies only to duels. Clan mechwarriors are at the top of their caste-based society, and are too valuable to waste. No clan mech is manufactured without an ejection seat - not even mechs designed solely for dueling, like the Hunchback IIC. As for failure being worse than death, clanners have mastered a form of semantics that turns every failure into a near success. The only failures that really count are the ones that can be viewed objectively by other clans, which would have political consequences. Clan intelligence is almost always awful, so it would have to be a BIG failure.
@GhostBear3067 Although not considering yourself a Jade Falcon, all Clan members, whatever Clan they belong to, respect all Khans and SaKhans from each of the Clans. So while you might be a Ghost Bear, you should not insult a Khan of Clan Jade Falcon so freely.
I love how in the past few episodes there's always been a convenient cave, or mine handy for them to hide their mechs in or travel through. It's like night-boat.
....night mech?
Look Michael. A fjord!
Wish we could get a new battle tech cartoon

Itziclinic I believe that is correct, the first episode, they didn’t know what it was
one of the many reasons this show was relegated to "poorly made holovid drama' in the official battletech game setting. :)
@GhostBear3067 1) Kommandant is the equivalent of Major in House Steiner.

The 12th Donegal Guards were wiped out during the clan invasion. Good for General Hawksworth to get Victor out of the fighting,
5:00 Jeez, it's a good thing these Clan Mechs don't heat up otherwise that Mad Cat would be on fire. I mean, two Cl. ER. Large Lasers in each arm going off like that is crazy.
You are correct, they are in the wrong mechs in the cartoon.
Plus I imagined Galen to be a bit older and less apprehensive about working with Dracs.
First off, in Lethal Heritage; Victor's mech was a Victor, not a Mauler, and Cox piloted a Crusader, not a Centurion. And they did get Galen Cox's hair colour wrong too.

I was thinking the same. I mean it's really freaking hard to screw up what Victor's original mech was before he moved on to his Dire Wolf, Prometheus.
actually, twin CERLL only generate 24 heat, and the Timber Wolf has 15 double heat sinks, allowing it to sink up to 30. as long as the mech doesn't add in it's ER mediums or LRM's at the same time, it would remain nice and cool.

So many planets from Mech Warrior 2.
Sudeten, for example.
I use to play as a Kell Hound in the 3058 league, i almost lost my shit when they had that episode on "Dustball"
ugh, on trell I Victor didn't pilot a Centurion, he piloted a 'Mech called a Victor, and Galen piloted a Crusader, the only thing they got right at 6:00 were the quotes and the Thor they were fighting

MY HOME PLANET!!!
I'm thinking that Stevens may have been an agent for Katrina Steiner, especially since he speaks of "factions within the Federated Commonwealth who favor a more worthy successor to the throne..."
+Commander A9 You mean Katherine Stiener, right?
+Kilo Tun
Neg, "Katrina" Steiner; the woman who assassinated Melissa Steiner to kick off the FedCom Civil War after the Clan invasion was halted.
That's her, but as a staunch Davionist (and to keep from getting confused), always kept calling her "Katherine". I know she changed her name to Katrina, but that was just political maneuvering.
+Kilo Tun They totally set this series up for a second season. Really disappointed it never came about.
I'm not sure but I think they even got Galen's hair color wrong. I think the reference was in the novel Lethal Heritage.
Yeah but both Galen and Victor are blonde and that might be confusing.
Wait a second did i just see clansmen eject. CLANS DON"T EJECT!!!!! THAT IS THE PATH OF A COWARD AND VERY DISHONORABLE IN CLAN LAW.
+Voicfulcornet5 There might be a couple of them that do and then get in trouble.
In MW3 they do eject
So Timber Wolf was Inner Sphere mech then Cans make Mad Cat & Mad Cat 2 ?
@gribae
For the use of the horses in combat, it was "Star Lord"
Well you have to consider the time and effort it would take to make new models for the enhanced vision mode.

Why is the Archon who has literally millions of soldiers and tens of thousands of 'Mechs involved in supplying a large lance like the Strikers?
@GhostBear3067 i noticed the show makers must have a passion for using light and medium mechs
@HachiZenki
1) Not all "Mechs have jumpjets...
2) There are other vehicles in use in the BattleTech universe (cars, trains, even horses)
3) Jump Jets have a high heat cost
Did the guy in power armor seriously think he needed a hostage?
Nobody ever dies in this series
They follow the ways of the Samurai. Calling them Ninjas would be an insult to them... :-P
Samurai fight. Ninjas kill. Learn the difference.
is it me or does a rip that looks like a sun keep appearing then dissappearing from his left shoulder?
i get what you mean. iv always liked the clans esspecialy clan wolf. this seris makes them seem...i dont know but its not what i expected
How convenient, a hole sized board for a hole in the wall.
did not know this was an animated show too
Which one are you referring to? Katherine or Yvonne?
so what? Kathrina Steiner and Victor Davion, his parents were.
Great thanks friend !
@GhostBear3067 yeah i think you´re right ....or they didnt want our clan jade falcon mechs to get owned so early... panther owns everything
Inverse ninja rule proven!
conservation of ninjutsu
That was after. He won it after Kai Allard Liao gave it up for Yen lo Wang.
yep, can't wait for that
My life for Katrina Steiner! Down with Davion!
I want mechwarrior 5
It released today and it kicks ass...
notice how low-quality the animations were... and the limited number of mechs they drew. no way they're gonna animate a victor when they can just reuse a centurion
and anytime you see a centurion in this cartoon you can probably be sure it's gonna get blown up, hahaha
Then you should learn how to more efficiently handle your heat and learn when and what weapons to fire.
Wow, you're right, lol!
Seriusly clans don't eject?, doesn't that go against their don't waist policy?

Yeah but lady Archont is: blonde, powerfull and have so fine daughter!
They treat Vic like shit lol
On it's way right now!
@77shadowknight Long Live House Davion!
This was so cheesy and lame, but in its own way it was totally awesome. Same as Conan really, not afraid to poke fun at itself.
@GhostBear3067 You show your trueborn blood by not using contractions. Khan Felix Pryde is pleased
so who else is watching this waiting for Mechwarrior Online?
fuzzydragon Waiting for Battletech. ☺
wolfhound wins, then 'splodes
lol
