Could you do a video of step by step wiring of a newer Kenwood (DNX 995S) wire harness along with iDataLink and accessories including GPS, SATELLITE RADIO, BLUETOOTH, AM/FM ANTENNA, USB/AUX and including excluding using factory speaker wires. In another words, if your going to run all new speaker wires from amps and do not need the factory wires. Particularly for a 2015 Tundra NON-JBL eliminating the factory amp as well.
When programming this for my 2018 tundra. I have a factory amp however its the NON JBL system. Ive removed that and am using an aftermarket amp. When programming it gives me the option for amplified non jbl which I selected. Apparently before I hit flash theres an option to uncheck factory amp however I cant seem to find that. Any help?

I want to purchase an maestro rr2 for my 06 ford f250. I have a Kenwood DDx793. I went to Best Buy and they couldn't pull up the ddx793 to flash the maestro to the stereo. I take it from the video that you don't necessarily have to flash for the stereo so much as you do the vehicle. Am I right by saying that? The stereo is idatalink capable so it should recognize it once its plugged into the head unit correct? The installer for Best Buy said that he wouldn't be able to flash the maestro,

I got a Pioneer DMH-2660NEX for my 04 cobra and wanted to put TPM units in my new wheels so I could monitor my tire pressure. Can I do that through the unit? Nice video explanation but my 2007 ram stock radio does nothing lol. Just has cruise control on steering wheel that I never use and has a Aux plug to play music from my phone. No tire air pressure sensor. Not sure I need this at all with the Kenwood unit I want to get(DMX47S). Will take apps work and Android Auto without it? Don't think I want to spend an extra $159 to maybe tell me how warm my oil is. Crutchfield guy said I needed it but from researching Im thinking I dont.

I have a 2020 Tundra Limited CrewMax and I’m replacing the factory JBL system with a Kenwood DNR1007XR, Idatalink RR2, Focal Flax 3way in the front and Focal Flax 2way in the rear. Doors will be powered by a JL Audio VXI 400/4. A pair of 12” Image Dynamic 2ohm subs are going to be in a TacoTunes Full Fiberglass box behind the rear seat, powered by a JL Audio VXI 1000/1 @2ohms. Considering adding an additional VXI 400/4 later in order to run fronts and rears separately at higher wattage. I’m using a VXI Hub to link the amps in a network and also a DRC205 Remote Knob for separating my sub volume from my main volume when needed I’m almost done installing everything, but I’m a bit confused on where to start when it comes to system setup and tuning. Also, I want to add front and side cameras later on for a 360 camera setup for parking assistance, but I don’t know what cameras to buy. Would you guys be able to post a video to help me get these topics pointing me in the right direction? Oh, and one thing you recently commented was that Pandora isn’t all that great. What’s a better alternative? I’m a hobbyist, not a professional. I haven’t installed a sound system in a really long time, but I like nice stuff and I like a clean install just like you guys do. What if I have an older Ford F350 (2005).... am I still able to view gauge information on the head unit? I currently have an Edge monitor that plugs into the OB2 to view gauges that are not available on my dash but the trucks ECM has full access to. I could get rid of my Edge monitor if this deck works in this way.

you've probably found the video already but if not . you take the wire labeled " park" put a terminal ring on it then screw it down to one of the screws on the stereo and it's bypassed

I do have a question I have the maestro rr and a Kenwood 893s hooked up in a 2016 f250 diesel the only issue I'm having is when using bluetooth through factory sync there is now static very annoying any help would be appreciated. I had no such static prior to installation. Oh and static is only present when. vehicle is running thanks!

Hi there, u have a kenwood head unit in my 2016 f150. On the gauges screen everything seems to be accurate, but the mpg is way off.. says I average 7 mpg and instant around the same, I know without a doubt I get atleast 17. Do you know a quick fix for this please?
i know this is an old question but how you describe this it sounds like you need to change he size of the gas tank in the Maestro Setup page they showed near the end of this video. sounds like default size is smaller than the tank you have in your F150

Roberto Rodriguez unfortunately that is because they don't make anything for your car yet. Your car does not need a smart harness to work so they don't make anything. Yes it would be cool if that made a basic add on so you could get gauges tire pressure sensors and stuff like that. Maybe one day
I have been watching your videos for a month or so no and decided to pull the trigger on upgrading my 2017 Toyota Sequoia OEM head unit to a Kenwood DNX576S. After doing so I no longer have OEM backup camera or the microphone working for calls. Also, this unit has XM but when I click on it it just says Check Tuner. If anyone has any experience with these issues, please help. Thank you in advance!

spencer wright yes on the sub. I you want to use the sync system you can use the factory mic. If you want to use the Kenwood Bluetooth, CarPlay, or Android auto you have to install the Kenwood mic.
I have a 2013 chevy cruze with a kenwood dnx893s and idatalink maestro rr unit installed everything works great but the turn signal volume is not working no sound tried adjusting volume but nothing changed. Tried holding reset button then plugging in cables into maestro rr light flashes red and then solid green. I even tried flashing the box again but no changes still the same issue. Any advice?
Five Star Car Stereo the installer used iDatalink ADS HRN-RR-GM5 Interface Harness he has the car speaker cables into port b and 3.5 mm plug into the kenwood.
David Pacheco when the gm5 came out it did not ship with the speakers. It now ships with the speaker. They may have ad old stock. Either way there is a speaker that needs to be there to make the beep sound
Hi, I got 9903 with Maestro RR installed but the guy couldn't make the phone button on Vw 2014 SE Jetta work. The phone icon button would just either decline call or long press redial last number. Any suggestions?
Five Star Car Stereo He said that he actually installed a new idatalink RR just for the sake of it and tried it but it's still the same issue. Phone button works with Bluetooth just fine but if you use the same button when receiving a call connected over CarPlay it doesn't. It just ends the call or long press declines. Another thing I noticed was if the car is on ignition mode without engine running, same button works fine and collects the call. Weird.
Deezy from philly it does not look good for that car yet. Idatalink say just basic control for that car, no menu control. There is no dash kit yet either.
I have the maestro system and I can't get my gauges to work on my 2009 Dodge Charger R/T Head unit is a Kenwood DNX893S and I have the same problem with my 2006 Chrysler 300 SRT8 Head unit is a Kenwood DNN991HD I been doing car audio for about 15 years now follow the instructions to the T but cannot get it to work it keep telling me that the OBD ll not connected I need help and I put the maestro system in a of vehicles and had it work with no problem at all
Nathan Neil there was a software update in September for the RR. You may just need to do that. Also make sure the radio is up to date. Did you connect the CAN wires at the ODB2 connector?
Nathan Neil ok cool, then I would do the software updates and see if that fixes it. If not definitely call them. The first question they will ask is if you did the software updates.
There can be an issue where the vehicle pin out is different than what the Maestro plug was designed for. You may need to move pins in the vehicle harness to connect to the correct inputs on the Maestro harness.
My question is is any of these companies think of semi trucks by any chance I have been trying desperately for well over a year now trying to find some company that makes an interface that will allow me to keep my steering wheel controls on my Freightliner cascadia 2022 to work with my pioneer head unit that I have installed myself alls I want is to be able to turn the volume up and down from my steering wheel controls but apparently that is absolutely not possible because nobody thinks of semi trucks can somebody please explain to me why and why are semi trucks so freaking different than cars it's same freaking systems just a little bit different why can't they like make something for us are we not important I think that question could be answered very easily when things stop showing up on shelves okay I'm done venting you guys have any suggestions as to how I might go about this please let me know I'll take any intel that I can get
Five Star Car Stereo hey five star I have an interesting problem that you might be able to help me with. I work at a car stereo shop and I install lots of radios. I have the k150 kit and a ddx794 in my 2013 f150. Everything works perfectly fine except for when I sometimes change the song with my steering wheel controls, the radio screen freezes completely and I can't adjust volume, change song, of even shut the radio off. I have heard of issues with the maestro and older Kenwood nav units causing them to freeze. I have replaced the radio and reflashed and master reset the maestro. It only seems to freeze when I use the steering wheel controls and it is intermittent and random. I do this for a living and am at a loss with my own vehicle. I would very much appreciate a response. Thank you

Yes you would use the iDatalink wiring and not the PAC.

+Chris Mcdonald we have never retain the Sync system when we do one. I would definitely give iDatalink a call though 1866-427-2999

After doing so I no longer have OEM backup camera or the microphone working for calls. Also, this unit has XM but when I click on it it just says Check Tuner. If anyone has any experience with these issues, please help. Thank you in advance!

Five Star Car Stereo I have a 2011 mustang with sync with kenwood headunit can I use the factory usb port and do I need to use microphone that cam with headunit ?
spencer wright yes on the sub. I you want to use the sync system you can use the factory mic. If you want to use the Kenwood Bluetooth, CarPlay, or Android auto you have to install the Kenwood mic.
I have a 2013 chevy cruze with a kenwood dnx893s and idatalink maestro rr unit installed everything works great but the turn signal volume is not working no sound tried adjusting volume but nothing changed. Tried holding reset button then plugging in cables into maestro rr light flashes red and then solid green. I even tried flashing the box again but no changes still the same issue. Any advice?

David Pacheco the GM2 harness comes with a speaker that plugs into port B on the RR. It is where all your car sounds come from.
Five Star Car Stereo the installer used iDatalink ADS HRN-RR-GM5 Interface Harness he has the car speaker cables into port b and 3.5 mm plug into the kenwood.
David Pacheco when the gm5 came out it did not ship with the speakers. It now ships with the speaker. They may have ad old stock. Either way there is a speaker that needs to be there to make the beep sound

Hi, I got 9903 with Maestro RR installed but the guy couldn't make the phone button on Vw 2014 SE Jetta work. The phone icon button would just either decline call or long press redial last number. Any suggestions?
Sumit G you can setup what you want the buttons to do when flashing the RR. Did he try to select other options before flash?
Five Star Car Stereo He said that he actually installed a new idatalink RR just for the sake of it and tried it but it's still the same issue. Phone button works with Bluetooth just fine but if you use the same button when receiving a call connected over CarPlay it doesn't. It just ends the call or long press declines. Another thing I noticed was if the car is on ignition mode without engine running, same button works fine and collects the call. Weird.
Sumit G at this point I would give iDatalink a call and see if there are know issues with your application.

Deezy from philly it does not look good for that car yet. Idatalink say just basic control for that car, no menu control. There is no dash kit yet either.

I have the maestro system and I can't get my gauges to work on my 2009 Dodge Charger R/T Head unit is a Kenwood DNX893S and I have the same problem with my 2006 Chrysler 300 SRT8 Head unit is a Kenwood DNN991HD I been doing car audio for about 15 years now follow the instructions to the T but cannot get it to work it keep telling me that the OBD ll not connected I need help and I put the maestro system in a of vehicles and had it work with no problem at all
Nathan Neil there was a software update in September for the RR. You may just need to do that. Also make sure the radio is up to date. Did you connect the CAN wires at the ODB2 connector?

Nathan Neil ok cool, then I would do the software updates and see if that fixes it. If not definitely call them. The first question they will ask is if you did the software updates.
There can be an issue where the vehicle pin out is different than what the Maestro plug was designed for. You may need to move pins in the vehicle harness to connect to the correct inputs on the Maestro harness.
My question is is any of these companies think of semi trucks by any chance I have been trying desperately for well over a year now trying to find some company that makes an interface that will allow me to keep my steering wheel controls on my Freightliner cascadia 2022 to work with my pioneer head unit that I have installed myself alls I want is to be able to turn the volume up and down from my steering wheel controls but apparently that is absolutely not possible because nobody thinks of semi trucks can somebody please explain to me why and why are semi trucks so freaking different than cars it's same freaking systems just a little bit different why can't they like make something for us are we not important I think that question could be answered very easily when things stop showing up on shelves okay I'm done venting you guys have any suggestions as to how I might go about this please let me know I'll take any intel that I can get

Five Star Car Stereo hey five star I have an interesting problem that you might be able to help me with. I work at a car stereo shop and I install lots of radios. I have the k150 kit and a ddx794 in my 2013 f150. Everything works perfectly fine except for when I sometimes change the song with my steering wheel controls, the radio screen freezes completely and I can't adjust volume, change song, of even shut the radio off. I have heard of issues with the maestro and older Kenwood nav units causing them to freeze. I have replaced the radio and reflashed and master reset the maestro. It only seems to freeze when I use the steering wheel controls and it is intermittent and random. I do this for a living and am at a loss with my own vehicle. I would very much appreciate a response. Thank you
