I'm so excited to try this on my iPod I have three of your pioneer stereo systems and all three vehicles I wasn't looking forward to pulling all the stereos out just add some more wires,But I would have. I picked up everything I need to do one vehicle and I will try that in the morning I'm super excited..!!! Because using an app it's like the putting a GPS tracking collar a wild animal !!! The whole idea of having mirrorlink is so you don't have to use your phone, it's all done from the screen of the Head Unit. All this is showing is how to mirror your phone and not mirrorlink!

This will allow the Screen to be still Touch Use-able. The whole idea of NO-Hands Driving is to keep your phone away from you. Screen Mirroring, is not same as MirrorLink or Car Play. ( If you need assistance of your Hand-held device ) you will end up pulled over trying to explain to the officer (you were just changing your Radio Station) ..
Hi there, bit of a technical question. So I noticed that my USB port is already taken up with the usb for CarPlay. So can I use a 2 to 1 splitter without power loss to power the adapter for the rvc to hdmi because i don’t have an hdmi port. Or I also found rvc to hdmi that don’t require a usb power connection. So in the case could I use the lighting and hdmi adapter and the lighting connector to power it from the lighting cable, If that makes sense or does it even require power?. Just trying to figure out which is best for my situation where the USB port is already taken up. Thanks!
Thank for the video. I followed the directions and the phone shows up on the HU screen, but it is small. The size of the phone screen. I cannot get Netflix/ youtube/ etc to play full screen on the HU. If I turn the phone sideways for full screen viewing, the image on the HU turns 90*. Any advice?

great video! i connected it to my stereo and it works! however the sound only comes out of the left front speaker. it isnt the radio itself, because while connected to BT i get all my speakers, as well as regular radio too. I use mirrorlink on my avh-x3700bhs with an lg v20 and all i need is a usb c cable. simply plug it into the phone and into the back of the radio and viola, mirrorlink. of course you've got to enable the correct settings but that's simple also. i believe what you are doing is something called miracast or something similar. it sure isn't mirrorlink.

On the AVH can you use the touch screen on the head unit to navigate through you phone when connected to the bueler or do you still have to use your phone to navigate through it?
For Android users... Just connect the phone to the radio usb and activate USB debugging under Developer settings on the phone. That will give your true MirrorLink.

This video was super helpful and I was able to get this to work. However, my BOSS head unit doesn't even have a USB port, much less HDMI. I set this up such that the USB plugged/tapped into the cigarette lighter power. It was working fine for a while but now the fuse seems to blow. Any thoughts here? If the Head Unit doesn't have a USB is this just asking too much of it? I appreciate any thoughts you may have.
It’s 2023 now and I have the avic W8500 nex on my truck. I’m having trouble mirroring Netflix or Hulu with the same setup you are showing. UA-cam works fine no problem with UA-cam I have a iPhone 12 Pro Max. Any ideas why Netflix or Hulu doesn’t work. Thanks

Question? If able to mirror link from your iPhone to your double din Radio will AppleCarplay work in your double din Radio if your double din didn’t come with Apple CarPlay when manufactured?
Apple Carplay only works with Apple Carplay compatible stereos. It's not an app you can add to any radio with a download or update. Mirroring will only mirror your phone and has nothing to do with Carplay.

What about non HDMI phones? I have been reading that only ones with USB 3.0 will allow wired video out. Many phones (in 2024) are still 2.0 even if they are C-type.

Thank you for this! I have the 4200NEX and couldn't figure out why when watching UA-cam on my phone, I wasn't getting the video on the radio's screen. Pioneer's tech line is always busy, (plus I'm 4 hours behind their time zone), so getting teeth pulled is easier than getting help from them. I have one question; Can I upload JPEG photos from my phone to the radio via this cable? Or do I still have to put them onto a SD card first?

No you have to not use the USB on the radio to power the adapter, you have to use on of our USB power converters.

just purchased the BOSS AUDIO BV9757B, glad i didnt get the system with the navi, or pay way too much on a more expensive brand.

Your video RCA has either disconnected, got pinched or your bypass no longer works.
If you are having problems mirroring with android download the app all allshare cast I've had no problems mirroring wirelessly

That's just the iPhone home screen! If you go the the 2:55 mark I'm playing video from UA-cam and it goes full screen automatically!

I have a Sony XAV-712BT, I have been having issues trying to get the mirror link to work. I have a Samsung S7, I read this radio only supports Samsung S3 and S4. But I haven't tried it using the HDMI, I was plugging it into the USB. Hopefully after watching this, I can get it working. Thanks!

Yea try getting an HDMI adapter for your S7 and see if it works with the HDMi to create the mirrorlink!

What about non HDMI phones? I have been reading that only ones with USB 3.0 will allow wired video out. Many phones (in 2024) are still 2.0 even if they are C-type.

Thank you for this! I have the 4200NEX and couldn't figure out why when watching UA-cam on my phone, I wasn't getting the video on the radio's screen. Pioneer's tech line is always busy, (plus I'm 4 hours behind their time zone), so getting teeth pulled is easier than getting help from them. I have one question; Can I upload JPEG photos from my phone to the radio via this cable? Or do I still have to put them onto a SD card first?
