Unfortunately I just wasted 2 hours of my life on this and they still haven't updated the instructions on their website 11 months later. I am very appreciative of your help and the content you produce. Thank you!
THANK YOU so very much for putting an end to the frustration i had of getting this to bind! Excellent video and YOU were the only one I could find that has this direction. Thank you!
I spent 45 minutes trying get the controller to bind. Thank you so much for your video! I never would have guessed that I needed to press the button inside the goggles to bind with the controller.
I finally got mine after months of backorder and just excitedly turned it on around 6.30am but then it just beeped *really* loudly for about 15 minutes until my spouse appeared and gave me a look that said I better cool it and search for a video like yours... so thank you! ;). I look forward to all those awesome manual mode crashes I expect are next.
Thank you for this explanation as I had spent the last 40 mins trying to bind my avata to a new controller 2 with no such luck. I should have know that a quick search on YT would have brought me to your fantastic channel (Im already a subscriber). I find it a little frustrating that dji are portrayed as being the newb’s goto when in reality I can’t find mention of this procedure in any of their literature so thanks again for your support of the hobby.
YES. Went to bed pissed off at the world cuz my controller wouldn't connect. Woke up this morning and watched your vid. Currently up in the clouds. Thanks Ian!
thanks for the explanation, Sorry, I'm a beginner, I have a few questions, after using RC2, do I need to reset it again if I want to use motion control?
I purchased the DJI FPV Remote 2 for more Avata and searched on how to pair it to the drone and up came this video from Mads Tech. Great in detail video on how to do so although I found out the firmware on my remote was a much later release than what was on this video. After checking what version firmware I had I simply followed the pairing instructions per the video and WaLa my drone, remote controller and goggles were paired.
This video helped tremendously, thank you so much! I'm a little worried because I just watched your video about the Avata falling out of the sky on certain turns, but I'll keep you updated if on what happens next!
Thanks for all yours tutorial! 😊 Question: after updating firmware is it till compatible with old firmware of DJI FPV, and what about Goggles v2? will they lose the possibility of using them with naco_pwr.txt file?
I have just spent a whole lot of time attempting to connect my Mac to my FPV Remote with With DJI Assistant 2 without successes. Given the comments here it appears that the software update is not available for Mac users?
thanks so much man. I bought it and immediatley charged it and tried to pair it but i was bummed when it didn't connect. I have been scouting the internet looking for a good video explanation and this is exactly what I was looking for. I just flew it with the fpv controller for the first time about 10 minutes ago and its amazing.
Hello my friend I’ve just bought my second dji fpv combo pack but this time I bought the avata at the same time too and have been struggling to get the both updated linked and flying I’ve watched ur video and that was the one u got me in the sky and everything up and running smoothly, I can’t thank u enough 🤜🤛
Thank you so very much! I was going ape shit trying to figure this out. I even called DJI and at this late hour and the rep had no idea how to update the controller 2 and what the problem was. This could have saved me 3 hours of trouble. I hope they fix this with Apple so my iMac won't stop me from installing it. That is a pain. Thanks again, Ian!
Is this like this from the go or just when switching from the one handed remote to the controller? I thought read when connecting the remote that it would be the only one binded to the device and I knew I shouldn't of moved forward. I'm sure your method works but I don't have recent mac devices/OS so the app won't work on my system.
i tried with DJI asistant for DJI fpv series to update my controller, but it start to download the "consumer drone series" automatically when i connect the controller as an update of the DJI asistant FPV, and from the newly updated DJI assistant consumer drone series, it start to update my controller, so IMO just go straight to the consumer drone version as it stated also compatible for DJI FPV itself... and it work and saves time
I would assume that binding DJI FPV v2 goggles probably the same? I just put order in for just the drone since I have the FPV with v2. Hopefully when it comes I don't have any issues.
Thanks Ian. Clear and easy to understand. So many videos are not clear and speak is terrible. The link for Mac in order to update the controller on a MAC is only for IOS V11 and most, like mine are at V16. Assume I can update the controller firmware via the DJI Fly app on my iPhone?
If I update the controller 2 will I also need to update my V2 Google’s for the DJI fpv drone? Don’t want to update the V2 goggles and not have the option to add hacks for my dji fpv system🤔
Iv never ever paid anyone for UA-cam before but you saved me £1800.00 as I have been trying to connect my controler all day and was just about to throw it out the window with the Avata close behind it.... Thank You :-}}} I sent you a quid XX
Will help a lot of people and I watch and comment just to support the channel and encourage others to watch it cause once you bought an avata you will need such stuff which you will not have considered until you might realize, that motion controler might be great but not what you need. My doubts had be grown after I had gotten a second chance to use it and John Cuppi mentioned it partly as you did before: * field of view or sharness in the edges is not there for me due to the optics distance to my eyes which I can barely change * the fogging issues is there and it will be noticed by you far more once you have realized that it is there cause before I had not recogniced it as fog (until I took them off) * it can cause 'nose pain' cause the face plate is not thick and weak enough * light gets in * unsolved topic of Mavic 3, Mini 3 and 2 and AIr 2S support * unsolved topic of the old Air Unit support And if I draw a line too much at stake, too much dji marketing and dji influencer lies cause no one of these paid dji sales clerks mentions the topics above deep down to the details as Ian does - not being part of the dji influencer Mafia or one of the others. I will not get one and can wait for google that full fill what I need cause a miniaturised goggles were not my first desire, but good usability and performance. Usability has been lost during the development cause dji tried the impossible to make them too small to fullfill all requirements. And the politics about compatibility broken by intense as part of planned obsolescence is the last one among the missing dji drone support. I have time, budget is there, so dji can improve on that since they had not sold any new drone to me for years that I use regulary. Mavic 2 is still there, from time to time I get a used Mini 2 or Mini 3 or just buy one to fly till I sell it again without any further losses just for a few weeks cause that works out quite well. But Autel nano and nano+ are stronger in case dji is not willing to bind their Mini2 and Mini 3 to their own goggles. Simple as that. I hope they start to redesign the whole issue soon before chrismas sales , the whole nightmare of face plate, nose pain or pressure, variable distance to their optics and pure darkness for all inside the goggles.
The DJI Assistant for consumer drones also works. I tried myself to update the firmware of the remote controlled 2 and no issues binding the remote with the avata
The CRAZY THING is that I was using the controller with the AVATA without doing this. Then today I turn it ON and the controller was no longer connecting. I have no idea what happened, I had to do this to get it to work again. Super fkn weird. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for this video. I made a mistake and did not purchase the remote with my avata and now they are out of stock. I hope they come into stock soon I really want one. But, even with the motion controller, I'm able to get great videos. In fact, I kind of like the motion controller lol. I'm 50 years old and the simpler the better for my age LOL.
Hello - fantastic video, thanks so much for putting it together. I bought the Avada but have not set it up yet. Am I able to follow the instructions for this controller to bind for the very first time to the Avata or do I need to set it up with the motion controller first and then rebind it to this controller? Thanks so much!!
thank you for this man, however can I ask if we can use the same controller both on Avata and original FPV aircraft without rebinding over and over? so that we never have to buy a separate controller for each system. based on the latest update apparently even from just switching from DJI fpv system and back to DJI FPV even without binding we lost the bind and would have to rebind every time we use or transfer from one system to another. Thanks
So I just did a firmware update on my DJI FPV gear, including the v2 goggles. yes every time I switch between remote and motion controller, I have to rebind. However, regarding binding to Avata and FPV, check this out: in the v2 goggles, go to SETTING> ABOUT>scroll to the bottom and you will see SWITCH AIRCRAFT MODEL. from there you get a pop down of DJI FPV, DJI Digital FPV system, and AVATA. Haven't received mine in the mail yet, so let me know if this works or not.
Once I update my controller to fly the Avata how will that effect me flying my other FPV drone? Will I be able to use them without updating everything else and rebinding every time to my V2 goggles and drone?
I don’t even have a DJI Avata 😅but still, I am checking how to connect the controller with the drone. I will be buying a DJI Avata drone very soon. Thank you for the video 😊
If I upgrade the firmware of the remote to use with Avata, do I need to rebind the remote every time if I'm flying the DJI FPV drone? (also any forced update on the goggle V2/FPV drone after binding with the updated remote? Need to ensure my FCC hack will not lose)
Thank you for your video but I have made multiple attempts to instal the software from the link that you have provided with no success, I am using a MAC. I have noted that other people are having the same issue, are you using a MAC or a PC?
Many thanks sir! I was about to return my controller (already had "updated" via the Fly App, but it seems like it was a fake update). Just one further ado is the fact that those devices are all weirdly sensitive to the kind of cable you're using. For example, I only had success connecting the controller to the PC via a regular USB cable in the PC end..
I will go ahead and buy the Avata now that I know thanks to you that I can use my old remote from other FPV drone, I wish I could also use the DJI Smart Controller with the Avata but for what I understand it is not possible. Thank you for such a highly informative video, OMW to best buy now to get the drone :)
Thanks for this just set up my dji avata today and have the exact problem. I found that I could work the gimbal. It the motors won’t start and it’s actually exactly the same on the dji virtual flight
Hi man! Very great video and super useful but I’m using a Mac with MacOS 12+ and when connecting the controller it don’t show up on the assistant App so it’s impossible for me to update the firmware.. do you have a solution ? Or I just need to find someone who will be agree to instal and make the updates on his laptop for me 😅
Ok...just got the Avata and RC controller. Bind it and want to fly manually but I don't get how to go to manual mode correctly. Please make a video on this and how to start and stop motors!! This isn't like an RC controller like I'm use to.😄
I have been flying Air2S till now. I was thinking if I could buy DJI FPV Controller & the googles first, to play in simulators and know I can do it, before actually buying and flying expensive breakable fpv drones.
My controller will not connect to the DJI assistant 2 fpv series. Any tips. I’ve tried different ports on my computer and 2 different USB cables. Nothing happens.
I’ve got a question, have you noticed a loss of bind ever after swapping a battery that requires a firmware update? I seem to have lost bind and needed to redo it swapping in the 3 batts in a row I have. Just curious.
Im uploading a manual mode flight with rocksteady on and with gyroflow on in a few minutes, it flies really really great just the auto exposure is a little bit to wild and the fact that gyroflow only works with the wide fov is also a little bit disappointing.
This did not work on my PC using a USB C to USB C cable! I had to use a USB A to USB C in order for the software to recognize the controller. Same issue by the way if you try to charge it via a USB C USB C cable.
Unfortunately I just wasted 2 hours of my life on this and they still haven't updated the instructions on their website 11 months later. I am very appreciative of your help and the content you produce. Thank you!
A huge THANK YOU 🙏🏾. You are quite literally the only person I’ve found on youtube who’s addressed this issue. Great job 👏🏿
Literally, been sitting here for 2 hours wondering why the stick weren't registering.
Only issue now is that I can’t get the DJI Assistant to recognise the remote. 🤷🏾
@@seal-nowweretalking6753 You need to use the cable provided by DJI and it will work.
@@srihari_karanth do you mean the usb togo thing that you also use to plug into the phone to use the virtual flight app?
No conected. For avata. Dji controller2 I have dji aistan2 No reconocend want I do do
