From a Caribbean brother without African Americans none of us from overseas would be in America: You should thank African Americans, they paved the way for all of us!
Asians, foreign Blacks, Hispanics, women, Jews, Arabs, etc!
And yes they had it the worse!
I am Caribbean, and I respect them, and what they did for all of us!

I worked with a woman from Ghana and she had a lot of negative preconceived notions about Black Americans. But found them to be mainly false. So I asked her where she got all of this mess from, she said the media. International media. Black Americans have a negative image globally.

What preconceived notions did you find to be false? Until the early 2000s, Southeast Asians were considered to be the most successful group of people in America; today, it is Africans. As an African American Woman, I pulled myself up by my bootstrap to get to where I am. African Americans work hard, let’s not tell that lie. Africa Americans may have gotten a little spoiled but we work hard. We’re not going to take that from our race because immigrants are eager and willing to come over to take advantage of opportunities that have been denied to the very African Americans that occupy this country. We’re not going to put African Americans that have been losing their lives in this country over injustices because of immigrants. We’re not gone pretend like African Americans didn’t put in that work. I appreciate the immigrants and supporters that acknowledge how African Americans paved the way. We were brought here by force.

FYI Black women are in fact degreed up and no immigrant who comes in will be more educated but they will have more opportunities just based on the fact that they are immigrants. When I was in west palm beach I always wanted to work at a hotel. I didn’t care about the pay I just thought the environment was dope. As soon as I walk in Black and Hispanic immigrants have those jobs on lock. When I was in California and needed to find something anything I found that even fast food restaurants were filed with hispanic immigrants, no one spoke English and therefore NO Americans were hired. That little section of our community that isn’t working or schooling can’t account for the masses of us that are and have been run out of their own state of birth because the lowest paying jobs requiring the least amount of education have already been spoken for. That means the only people that are working are those who have carved out a niche or went straight into their careers by way of educating, interning and being hired in from within. I refuse to judge my brothers and sisters when I know they can’t even go to BK to be hired in certain places. Why??? gatekeeping and racism. Many Blacks wouldn’t mind picking some of those oranges and beans but guess what… immigrants even got those jobs on lock as a matter of fact, how does one even apply to pick oranges because me and my family will go out there on the weekends and run up a bag while having fun. I wish people would stop speaking for all of us when they say Blacks don’t want those jobs… Blacks don’t want to work for FREE and that is the problem the entire world has with us. We refuse!!!!

Right! Cause we been there done that stupid shyte. It is called Slavery!
I loved this comment because it is well written and TELLS FACTS of what the U.S.A. so-called Black endures EVERYDAY from the propped up immigrant/ economic system.
Other nations of so-called Blacks do NOT endure what we go through here in the U.S., so why the divisiveness to compare is beyond me.
Anytime we are in the room with anyone else, we, 8/10, won't even get the shitty end of the stick. We don't get offered a stick or even a boot. Even when we are in the room with each other, there is always a way to divide:skin color, hair texture, body shape, facial features, eye color, diction, social economic background, education level...the list goes on.
Systemic racism and classism are very real. The gaslighting and stonewalling by the system is even more.
So-called affirmative action only benefitted ONE generation in my family, AND they HAD education and training to substantiate their resume. There were no handouts or freebies that the media misleads the masses with. And how many centuries has the U.S. so-called Black endured racism and classism? ONE generation of "help" compared to how many of devastation?
All that work for equal right to entry and access and WHO single handedly dismantled that? The immigrant did...calling it racist. smh
The immigrant comes to the U.S. and is able to benefit.
Frankly, it is best for the immigrant to be mindful and leave their judgment to silence. Any so-called FBA/ADOS needs to stop brown nosing other cultures for views, likes, and clicks.
Karma is a beitch, and economic opportunity is fleeting.

For that matter, central Africa still has a bustling slave trade and human trafficking organizations operating today. A Nigerian diplomat when to the UK with a poor Nigerian street peeler intending to use the man for illegal organ donation. He only escapes because he overcame his fear of the British police and threw himself on their mercy. The Nigerian diplomat is still claiming he did nothing wrong. If people really care about injustice and slavery, they should be working towards ending the current slave trade. Every house in the 60s & 70s while he was a kid growing up had a married black father & mother in the household. And most of them guys have great work ethic. Once the father was out the household. Young boys lost that pride and drive without a role model. The pride we had to take care of your family. Seeing your wife cook and make a house a home. Meanwhile. Those immigrants seen their fathers work from sun up to sun down with that same pride. And assume we saw the same. We saw our moms carrying that pride. Thats why are women are so driven. These are the reasons immigrants don’t understand why we don’t take advantage of it. We got the name “Black” but alot of us lost the spirit & pride of being black.

You just summed up the whole problem, and at the same time, the solution - Education. I never cease to wonder why brothers and sisters, even the majority of white, and spanish people alike, have so little regard for college education. Our community leaders are not helping the situation either. Anyone who genuinely wants to help the AA community will make laws that will mandate and enforce college or technical for all AA kids. When this is done, I can assure you, the poverty level will decline significantly.
Parents that value education help their children to follow suit, in most cases those children tend to do better than their parents in life in terms of their achievements. Look around you, most of our brothers and sisters doing well are college educated, or have some kind of technical training. I am not talking about the professional athletes, or entertainers. Education will help you in any field you are and you will be able to feed your family. Why isn't education prioritized among our people? Technical education will help you to start your own small scale production company, if needs be.

But even in the 3rd world countries and the the Caribbean Islands and beyond...dark people are the most oppressed and discriminated against.... • @PKBassPlaya
      @PKBassPlaya Рік тому +1

@@priestlybarrs7224 for me this isn't a debate. I'm not trying to invalidate anything you are saying because I know very well that these are lived experiences that black folk in America have lived with directly. To me it's a conversation about understanding each others perspectives. From my observation and research, the passed down dysfunction in the black American community didn't start until the 60's when Lyndon Johnson introduced the Great Society act. All hell broke loose in the black American family unit and structure. During slavery, black people in America were still getting married and staying married. On an economic level black families thrived in those conditions. Fast forward to the 60's and 70's. The introduction of welfare and it's conditions were presented to the black woman and she chose a cheque over a family which shot the single motherhood rate to an almost whooping 72%. That then became the demise of the black family in America. Everything else went to sh*t after that due to the absence of father's in the home. I also acknowledge the racist war on crime bill introduced by your current president back in the 90's during Clinton's presidency which was responsible for further destruction of the black community which then led to rise in gang culture due to no presence of strong male authority figures in the lives of the younger black kids due to mass incarceration. Over here in Africa, we've had our share of woes from colonialism and bad leadership to this day but we were lucky that things like welfare were not introduced and our legal system does not reward or incentivize women for divorcing their husbands as it is in the west. On a cultural level, we see things very differently, their are many things black American culture promotes that we as Africans just cannot rock with or condone. That's why a lot of times there is an impasse with both our communities.

This is The dysfunction that I spoke on. Black Americans and all of the disconnect from truth and knowledge of self. The difference between indoctrination and education makes the core line of separation between the black American and the immigrants.
