Bikepacking The Lakeside Shuffle

- Rob conjured up this weekends bike packing trip. Patching together landmarks from his past life down in Lakeside Oregon. Rather than schlepping around a tent, we’d be living large and staying in a yurt.
This ride ended up being more interesting than fun, but we ultimately ended up having a good time and enjoying some sunshine.
Hope you enjoy.

I'm going through all the old vids. I don't understand why these don't have a million views. Great content even when you're not having fun. Cheers
I could watch a new video from you guys every day I think.
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it!
It never gets easier. Bumper sticker for 2022 . Another great video Bro’s
Thanks Brett! It really never feels easier...what the heck!
Oh man, I briefly lived in Coos Bay a few years ago. I have friends that work in the hospital there, and you’d be surprised by how many people get hit by cars riding the 101. No thanks. Next time you’re in Bandon, eat at Tony’s Crab Shack. BEST crab cakes ever! Thanks for another exciting episode.
So, like I said in the clip. I have been going to that area my entire life. I have always seen people riding down 101 and thought “How Cool!”
Well....that bubble is completely popped!
I’m sticking to the road less traveled!
Another great video!! I love the yurt! The first time I rode the coast back in 99 I stayed in a yurt in bandon got too drunk and made a fool out of myself it was great!!!🤣😂 I'll never forget it!!! You two have a good comical thing going on man keep it up you're awesome!!!
One of my favorite channels glad to see you over here.
Thanks Stuart! Glad you enjoyed the video!
Never a dull moment with Parker in tow. Another awesome adventure guys
Glad you enjoyed it
Excellent video guys. Seriously enjoying your roster of films right now. You make a compelling case for a Hardtail Bikepacking setup. We're gonna check that out.
Hard tail is so versatile!!! If I could only have 1 bike, it would be a hard tail with 130-140mm front sus! Thanks for watching.
Awesome!!!! Deep down i don’t mind a few road trips…. More yurts, more awesome food! Always love Oregon state park facilities. Feels like glamping to me! And those showers! Ahhh
It was total glamping! Hopefully some more yurt adventures to come!
Another great adventure Chris, the Oregon coast is so beautiful! Highway riding is pretty scary, glad you guys made it safely. The yurt looked like fun, lightened the load a little. Like the new channel name!!
Thanks Chuck! Yeah I hope to do some more Yurt adventures!
Fair play guys another great video, you guys seemed to be disappointed with the road riding but you two still had a great time, good memories and it's always good to get out on the bike for an overnighter even if it is in an awesome yurt. Great stuff can't wait to see the coming adventures keep it up love to watch you guys and I like the name change I won't lie it had me thrown a bit at first I didn't know what was going on but as soon as I clicked it, it all made sense
Kudos to you for riding with the backpack the way you do
Thanks Joe!
Glad to see you two back at it! May this year finally reward you guys with fish. (Remember my corn kernel tip if fishing for trout near fish hatcheries. ;-) Adventure on.
Thanks David F. Yeah when fishing starts up again we will definitely keep that in mind!
I'm early to an upload! Wish there was a way to pick your brain about all things bikepacking, man! Love the content. Definitely inspires me to get out and ride.
Glad you enjoyed the video! If you have specific questions shoot me an email!
Guns and single track sums up the area pretty good, but next time come down to Bandon we can show you some bikepacking spors in bigfoot country
Before we did this ride, I text Chris and told him we should hit you up when we get to Bandon and have a beer. We got to Bandon and I ask Chris why he didn’t want to ping you. Well...He never got the text. I’m sure I screwed up.
Next time?!?
You guys are working hard to have fun! 😊👍
We do what we can! Thanks for watching!
Super that you didn't get shot at during your assault rifle experience! Wow, that sure would make it memorable. You guys know how to have fun. Ride on!
Yep, I am pretty stoked we didn't got shot either, it was a memorable trip for sure.
That bridge on 101 into Reedsport is a nasty one. I've ridden it with panniers 4 or 5 times. When forced to take the lane, I've feared for my safety a time or two. Profanity, gestures, and horns blaring is very common from a particular breed of persons in that locality. I think they're angry you're out having fun while they're having to work. I haven't felt much love from some of the locals down in those parts. It's beautiful country though...
101 is brutal!
Yep, so terrible! HOPEFULLY, never again...
The beach looked amazing! Sounds like a memorable misadventure! Here is to hoping 2022 gets better! So did you actually like the Yurt?
Hey Julie, the yurts are great! I have stayed in them many times over the years and the Oregon State Parks does a fantastic job keeping them clean and cozy!
Tell the family we said “Hi”
@@RobParker8 I will!
Hello guys 🔥 im from mongolia. Welcome 😅
Bikeyurting and road cycling!
Yes! Bikeyurting! Hopefully more bikeyurting in my future!
While I don't like highway road riding myself, I will gladly take one to avoid crazy people with assault rifles. Haven't had that one yet, hope I never do.
Hah, yeah you nailed it! I hope we never encounter that again either!
Civilians with military weaponry make bears and moose seem way less scary 😳
Way less scary!
if the tweaker camp you are talking about was on your way to whiskey run coming from charleston be glad you are alive. those spots make folks disapear sometimes.
Yeesh, yah that may have been the one! I consider myself lucky!
