There are separate guide books for gold and mineral collecting In your general area but I only collect minerals, not really into gold. What state do you live in? I might know some good spots near you! 💎💎💎

Time lapse always shows if people are actually doing any work. We use to set up a time lapse camera on a construction jobs to watch certain people who we had complaints about for not actually working. We could follow them on time lapse to prove it one way or the other.

The “interior” parts of that crystal as you said was actually Mica crystals growing inside the crystal. And some of them had phantoms( basically is a refraction of the crystal that might grow inside and in place of another or grown over a smaller crystal to make a shadow of the small crystal.

This is a great video and reminds me that I have a few of these fully-formed quartz crystals myself. Back around 1990 I was living up in California's mother lode gold country in the foothills running along hwy 49. There is a little town there called Coulterville which is a stop on the way up to Yosemite at the junction of hwy 49 and hwy 132. If you turn west onto hwy 132 out of that town there is an old mine entrance sitting just off the left shoulder. There was a spot right there which dropped down into what was almost a small cave. We used a rope to climb down and check it out. That's where I saw some of those fully formed quartz crystals and collected a few of them. Pretty sure I still have them packed away somewhere.

My grandma worked in the North Cascades during the construction of Hiway 2, around Concrete, Wa.
She had barrels of quartz and other things: I was too young at the time to appreciate any of it.
    Geodes, agates...she had it all.
Seeing you work the soil reminds me of her passion.
She would tell us about how the rocks formed, what they were made of, the uses of the minerals in industry.

Dan, what I like best is seeing you have a great time while finding some amazing things! I'm a huge fan of crystals so you had me at those LOL! I'm really glad you were thinking about a hardhat - that was the first thing I thought when you started the video "Dude! Hardhat!" Frankly that is a little more important than the video mode even though I know that bothered you the most. I would feel better seeing you and a Dan style hardhat whenever you're in these mines - hope that's not only me ;)

I've never searched for videos like yours before, but your ocean rock showed up in my feed today :)
I subscribed, what you do is really neat and enjoyable, and reminds me of my endless hours looking for geodes as a kid :) thanks for this :)

I just want to say I really enjoy your program. It's educational as well as entertaining. I wish that I was younger so I could chase the yellow. I always wanted to give it a shot but life got in the way. Maybe the frog was trying to tell you to dig here. LOL

Hello Dan. i was wondering if you could explain a little bit more of the geology in the hard rock your working? i really have enjoyed watching all your videos. I've learned so much from you about panning and what to look for on rivers and streams. i really look forward to your video's. I recently tried panning for the first time with a borrowed pan. I haven't found anything I've only been once.
