Perfect morning. Kids are still sleeping. Chilling with a tea and the dog, watching Austin work on Toyota’s. 👌
Perfect 👍👍
Happy to hear you fixed the brakes. Seriously, consider the T100 booster you'll love the performance. My theory about the idle speed: On these engines there's a vacuum solenoid that holds up the idle speed briefly to prevent stalling on an abrupt throttle cut. I suspect that valve is sticky or needs adjustment. It's not the TPS, as you said it would cause all kinds of other problems.
I had a mustang that did the exact same thing, the idle air control valve was dirty and would sometimes stick. Clean that out and it should be good
Hey Austin!
Just watching this video and I could be wrong but I think you installed tha brake pad anti rattle clip incorrect. Not trying to knock your work or anything cause what you do is awesome. Keep the videos coming man.
You’ll need to replace your throttle body, there is a non replaceable bushing that wears out on the hinge for the throttle plate. Is a common issue on old 3.4 motors.
You should send the throttle body to maxbore. This is a common issue on 3.4 and his work fixes the issue.
This.
Hanging idle may be an intake leak somewhere, leaning and holding high.
IM GLAD HE IS MAKING THIS TRUCK LIKE NEW CONDITION AND PERFECTLY RELIABLE BEFORE HE SELLS IT AND IT GOES HOME TO ITS NEW OWNER.
👍👍
My favorite part of this channel is the jack camera and the spray bottle camera lol
I had that same idle issue some years ago on my volvo 740 😄 it was the 2 tiny screws holding the throttlebody plate to the shaft that was loose. The plate didnt centre in the housing when i let of the pedal causing leaks between the plate and housing. Good thing i found out in time so that the screws didnt suck into the engine.
Might also be the shaft bushings causing the same issue i think
I had the same issue. Throttle body was worn out. The bar that runs across the butterfly was loose on the sides. When I burp the throttle it would seal but it had to find the right spot where it would seal up. Got one from an automatic as it opens 1 time to get up to speed compared to 5 times for a manual.
Congratulations you figured out
It never ceases to amaze me, the things one can accomplish with a well placed thumb! Almost limitless!!😄😅😂
Glad you got it fixed.
I will do the same to my Hilux.
Truck has about 430 000km.
Thank you for the vid.
Keep up the good work.
I have a 93 with a 3.4 swap and high idle all the time and I can't figure it out either, always idles between 1.5 and 2k rpms, I also can't get my coolant guage to work, and I can't get rid of the check engine light with the o2 sensor heater code. But I gotta say, ur videos have me motivated to work on it again and make some content for my channel so thank you!
Awesome thanks man!!
Had that rpm issue with my 89 3.0. Changed the cold start injector and she was mint!
Good job. I remember an old Toyota I had would idle higher when the power steering was in use, so when going low speeds and tight turns. Maybe it's the pump working harder to move the bigger wheels and tires?
Nice builds. Looking forward to more videos
Glad you got that fixed
Good video bro keep them coming 🤙🏽
Been there done that! Don't worry about the brake line loop, it's all good. Keep up the solid content ! 👌👏
Thanks 👍
random speed in the idle is found in the IIC. The idle controller will hang and cause the same issue. Clean it and the coolant passages in it. The 3.0 I have started doing the same thing after i pulled the intake and drained the coolant out of the IIC. First start it surged to 2k an hung, i did all kinds of adjustments an it took its sweet time to reset. to test this theory when idle is high tap on the trtlbody with something. if it drops instantly you know where it is. also i have had issues with the butterfly catching on carbon deposits for the last 100-200 rpms..
Theres a spring n dome piece in the trottle body . Idle air control valve i assume . Thread dome piece down til ur preference . Should cause the idle to obtain 800 - 1000 rpm usual Toyota idle .
Yahoo breaks are working! Now let’s fix up that idling. Keep up the great work Austin. You can do it! 😎👍
Thanks 👍
Great video man! The idle air problem could be from an idle air control valve, not sure if those old yoda's have them or not but if it doesn't then it may be just a vacuum leak on the intake manifold. Do a smoke test and you might find the problem.
Hey i'm from Greece, nice work fella, i'm in love with this pickup truck !!!
I dont know if your truck is new enough to do this but on some manual cars/trucks with obdll the computer uses the clutch switch to determine if you are shifting and holds the rpm's to help with smoothing out upshifts so if you have bypassed it then the ecm dont know if you are shifting so it defaults to rev hang untill you come to a stop
My 3.0 does the same thing. I rebuilt the engine and have no clue why it does that. It's got to be the tps or on mine possibly the iac valve Idk much about the 3.4.
Oh man ur build is just awesome❤️❤️🔥
Thanks!!
@@austinniemela hey can u build a monster truck from Isuzu d max v-cross
have rebuilt these calipers from pistons up many times . Pull the bottom off of the throttle body and clean it , the TPS is married to it.
Hello
New subscriber from Indonesia👋
Awesome video bro 👍
Discovered your channel today, fantastic videos, you diserves more subscribes. All the best from Italy
Thanks and welcome!!!
Also had the same issue with my 90 4runner, i bled it, changed the abs actuator bled it again, changed the master cylinder and bled it yet again, even changed both rear break cylinders, i just got new calipers and fixed
Congratulations Austin. My idle drops too far and stalls on hot days after I pull a hill.
Is there a valve that delays the rpms to help match gears anticipating a shift you can disconnect?
The kit dont have the plates? The brakes will make noise allways and end the brake pads fast
The bumber onbthevgreen Tacoma is prefect not obstrcive or gotty!! My 02 4runner needs something the like.
Sounds like you should check your IAC valve. It let's let air bypass your throttle body when your engine is cold to keep high idle. Common issue on 5VZ's because water can get pool in there and make it corrode .
I have cleaned that up already!
Good job ,can u tell me what color you paint that truck
👋 Good. job. 👍👌 🛠🔧
There is an O-ring on the throttle body's idle air screw that is known for going bad on 22re's. Good chance that 3.4 has a similar design.
The throttle body plate may need to be cleaned - possible carbon buildup
Try that first and doesn’t cost an arm & a leg to do it. Great job by the way on the truck. Subscribed to your channel-yes!!!
Thanks for the tip!
I was right!!! A clogged piston, very common on this trucks, great video man!!!!
Hey brother, I would check the idle air control
I have a 93 i changed front brakes and rotors and rear drums but it still shakes when in slowing down iv looked at everything and cant find an issue any ideas !?
Next build Cummins 2.8 in a fj40.......do it! Would be a giant success on the tube
Great looking truck.
my 93 3.0 had that idle issue unitl I bled the air out of the coolant section of the throttle body.
need to get a new window regulator and motor assembly . do you suggest Napa auto store over any other auto store. thanks
Bought the 2nd gen bumper template from you on the 50k day can’t wait to get it built.
I would check the throttle body
Hanging idle may be the ecu from automatic car
Beautiful work, from Brasil 🇧🇷
Hey man what colour is your car I’m obsessed with it and I wanna paint my car.
Check IAC for the idle issue
Always killer stuff 🤙🏼
👍👍👍
👍
How long did it took you to rebuild this truck?
About 6 months
браво дружище
Nice work!!
How did you achieve that rhino line look to your paint??
Raptor liner!
The idle its possible that is a bad vacuum pump
جميل ❤
Is it on sell ?
That’s gonna be your next build ?
Black calipers look so much better
I agree!
Definitely Check ICV They Stick Every Now And Then 👍 CHICO
Ya sounds like a tps sensor
Clean your idle air control valve
Idle air control valve is dirty. Take it off and clean it or replace it
great work bro!!
Thank you!
Great vid bro 👍👍👍💖💖👍👍
Thanks man!
@@austinniemela you welcome brother
If you plan on doing another Toyota you should om606 swap one, or 617 j think is the name of the engine. It’s a Mercedes diesel!
Top job....
รถสวยมากๆชอบ
nice!
Love your work but you are not bleeding them right farthest wheel first passenger side rear driver rear passenger front driver front last
this happened to me a few weeks ago and it was my tps
