Who else would love to see Austin work on a Landcruiser??? 80 or 100 series would be sick on his channel!
I’m still calling for a 40series OM606
I sure would.
80 series vote here.
But his wife would take it😆
Fj55.
Austin, an old mechanic told me once that every time a mechanic uses a framing hammer while working on a vehicle, a puppy dies.... lol... and it always amazes me that you do these awesome projects using a set of harbor freight plastic ratchets. I love this channel.
FINALLY someone who does springs the proper jank way. Gone are the days of shooting springs out at mk jesus and losing limbs!
Love your patience and ability to methodically work through issues...inspiring! 100%
I appreciate that!
OMG, this is the best spring compressing idea!
Lol I said the same thing thing
Your Bro’s workshop is sick! Time to step up Austin. Get yourself a lift!
This is quickly becoming my favorite channel.
Thanks!!
@@austinniemela Next I want to see a 1st gen tundra, access cab, custom flatbed on a 3" bilstein.. mainly cause I want to build it 🤣
My uncle is gonna sell me his 4Runner when I can afford it and this series is such awesome inspiration! I've always wanted to mod my own but never had the space/time/money to do so. This will be my 2023 project with a 4th gen.
Also, the entire time I wanted you to peel the stickers off the tires haha
Thank you so much for ur help I’m 17 and I have a 3rd gen and I’ve been trying to learn as much as I possibly can at an early age about working on my rig. Ur videos are so helpful to me and I can’t thank you enough
Happy to help!
This build just makes me miss my Toyota Surf (4Runner name here in New Zealand) I sold over 10yrs ago. It was a clean 1995 3lt turbo Diesel SSR V model and a lot the mods you've done are what I had in mind. Might have to look for another to be a project in the future.
Holy smokes, buddy!
What a pleasure to see the results of your work. I do many things in my restorations but now you're my hero! Thanks for share!
Just did the same lift to my 2002 over the weekend and a 1998 a couple months ago. Can't believe your rear shocks came off so easy. Had to take a sawzall to both of mine. Looks and drives awesome, nothing better than the reliablity and simplicity of a 3rd gen 4runner. Keep the mods coming, need more ideas.
Did you have to do the welding too? I need to buy the 3in rear spring to level up my rear end. What is your advice? Please help! The front is lifted.
Im watching from north of México, and let me tell you something, I will buy a 4runner and this video will help me alot... Insane job, men...
Perfect!?😍🔥 The wheels look amazing 💯🤙🏻
Edit: 2:35 🤤 White camo with blue wheels!?! OMGGGGG super finneee💯🔥😋
Thank you 🙌
@@austinniemela Your sooo welcome 😁
Awesome. I’m doing the same exact lift and springs, I’ve been worried about the fronts being too stiff, good to hear you like them. And thanks for showing me that coil over disassembly trick, I’ll have to use that. 100% recommend getting a diff drop in the front. Even when they settle, the angle will be too much, I’ve head 1 too many stories. Also if you stuck with the stock sway bar end links, they won’t be long enough, most people move stock front sways to the rear and second gen 4Runner rear sways to the front.
Bro you make some top quality videos! Content and quality is on point. Hope you blow up, u deserve it. Don't stop.
Thanks man I appreciate it!!
You are doing what I wish I could have done to my 92ext 4x4 and 91 4x4 4 runner and 85 2wd. Had to sell them I got to old. Keep up the great work. Love watching someone who knows how to do it right! Ha I still have 3 other trucks!
Almost wanna buy your 4Runner now 🤪
It looks really good man. All that work, time, energy, sweat even blood u put in these builds. Very happy feeling wen ur don.
🌴 bought a 2002 Toyota 4X2 with 196,549 for $4600 the end of Feb 2023 , no history on it except it was a soccer moms ride with Disney stickers on the back window from Sebring area , it truly is a fantastic ride love it !
That's a sharp looking 4runner. You do great work and I'm hoping to do the exact thing to my 2000 4runner in the near future. Keep up the great content. Greatly appreciated!
20" wheels with 33" tires doesn't give you much sidewall for off-roading. If you lower the air pressure for better ride and grip off-road, you can potentially damage the rims on the rocks. My preference is a 16" or 17" wheel with 33" tires. Definitely going to have some tire rubbing with 12" width wheels and tires.
Doing same lift in couple months on my 99 4runner, thanks for mentioning the mevotech “SPC” control arms, researched it right away and yup SPC sells off there designs to companies like mooch and mevotech, saved me $300!
Have the same tires on my Cummins 37x13.50x22. One of the best tires I’ve had for the price point. Mine were 1100 bucks. Toyos were gunna be 2500 for the same size.
Another job well done bud, she's styling, an profiling! 👍👌
Looking great Austin, the more you do to the 4-runner, the better it gets to looking! Keep up the good work!
Thank you!!
Great video as usual. I prefer the small wheel, big tire look over the 20" wheels, especially on the smaller vehicles like the 3rd gen.
Sweet rig either way, I look forward to future 3rd gen videos.
Looks amazing now the bumper fits the build perfectly. Great work!
Thanks! 👍
@4:43. Don't hang on to the balancer when it's running. Had a hunter rep do a demo once where he turned off rounding and showed how the results are repeatable if you don't hold on yet start to jump around when you leave your hand on it. You move even if you don't think you're moving.
Austin, I love it!! The wheels you picked are the coolest looking I've ever seen. That was the second IFS lift kit installation that I've seen. Devin's Dura Max was the first one. I never heard of a PANHARD in my life. I love to learn new things and thanks for that. All I know is that IFS lift kits are complex, When I was doing what you are, There was no Toyota IFS kits made yet. 86 was the first year for the IFS trucks and 88 was when LIFT kits came out. Thanks for always having cool content. Your channel ROCKS!
Thank you jim!!!
@@austinniemela Your welcome!
Your work is absolute masterpiece. Simplicity at the best
All those modifications are gonna make the value of that old 4Runner shoot through the moon!
A thing of beauty!! Great job brotha!! I've been waiting for this video for a long time. Can't wait for more mods to the 3rd Gen. Aloha 🤙🏼
Thank you man!!
This is an awesome build! Looks killer.
Thanks!!!
Wow love that lift on the 4 runner looks fantastic buddy.
Thanks 👍
Austin, the adapter you show at 11:45 should actually be on top of the ball joint. It's shaped like that on the inside to catch and center the ball joint joint stud so it doesn't move around. The problem with most ball joint press kits is the lack of instructions regarding how to use which adapter in which situation. I guess they want us to figure it out for ourselves (and, yes, I know that there are far too many vehicles to begin to show them all).
Looks so good. Can’t wait to get this lift for my runner
Once again... pure GENIUS!
Good job mate ! Cheers from Russia Far East .
Man this came out so clean. Great job again
Thanks!!!!
Love the series.
New wheels look good, but for some reason I'm liking the old wheel and tire better. Don't know, it looked purposeful and ready. That's best way I can sum it up.
Amazing. I live in Brazil's country and the only pickup trucks that are still standing from that time are the hilux / 4runner!!
Looks awesome. Been here for over a year now from you’re brothers channel. Keep up the great work 💪💪
Sweet thanks man!
That 4Runner is looking really good bro 🤙🏽
Thanks!
Man normally I dont like big wheels with the lower profile tire but that looks awesome! Suits it
Thanks i like the look!!
@@austinniemela yeah the red Yota looks great too. Im still a big fan of the green yoga set up. Im old fashioned with smaller rims and bigger tires. Some day I'll catch up to big rims
In the past I’ve just used a big hammer to slam out the upper ball joint. Cool way to disassemble the coil from the spring
Man those wheels are nice. Those are ones I want to get for Sierra 1500. The 4 runner looks a whole lot better now.
Great work. She's a sweet-looking truck.
Thanks 👍
Nice to see someone not using power tools :)
the new wheel and tire setup on this truck looks amazing!
love the all black/chrome accent look
im actually working on redoing a set of wheels on my 86" runner
Looks fantastic. Swing-out tire carrier/bumper on the back is next. I have the same Bilstein's under my 2nd gen Tacoma and I love 'em.
I love the wheel size!
Looks mint man great job on the bumper too by the way
Surely a pre runner style build next???
Great build! I will say you also need to change out the sway bar end links. Move the 3rd gen fronts to the rear and get some 2nd gen rear end links for the front and they will put your sway bars back to level.
Thanks ill check that out!!
Blackout Rear bumber or Black aftermarket bumper & it'll look killer!
Truck looks great with the lift. I like to do the same with my 4runner.
You and your brother really make great videos 👍👍
i have a stock 1999 Tacoma (4cyl, 5spd, extended cab) that i would like to pimp out. I've owned this truck for about 15 years and she needs alot of love.
Much Respect from Arizona!
Wow, great looking 4 runner!!! Wish I could hit that thumbs up 100x. Awesome channel man... 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you so much 😀
U are the man bro. Everything u do by yourself. I follow your youtube. like the way u do 4×4 nice and clean. From 🇲🇾
Absolutely stunning once you put those rims on
Great to see that u approve of the Trailblade M/T's. I have them on my 02 thundercloud Sport Edition, also in 33's
Hi i m amazed to such huge set of 20" black wheels on runner surf.
you deserved more subscribers. mann i love your videos!!
Thanks man!!!
Looking outstanding! I generally prefer a 17” rim, but the 20s looks great on the 4Runner!
Thank you!
The Fourruner came out very well 👌
Just put these same wheels on my tundra. 20x10 as well. I painted the center caps matte black
Very nice setup. 👌
Sick setup Austin
Holy cow what a transformation
you gotta undo the LCA and change the settings SPC has a instruction page for it. basically you max the rear one out and the front all the way in for max caster out of the LCA if i remember correctly, most people end up on setting "e" or "f" on the UCA
Give this man some power tools 👍
I’m convinced that Austin & Devin’s dad was wealthy. Not trust fund-wealthy, but that good old fashioned hard work and grit kind of wealth. He obviously passed it onto his kids. Very Impressive.
Awesome video. Thanks bud
I like it! I had a 98’ 4x4 runner but it rusted out. But now I got a 01’ and it rust free but a 2wd. I wanna solid axle swap it and do a suspension setup like that one.
The wheels are so good for this truck😎👍
cant wait for the 6112 tundra Bilsteins to be off backorder so I can get mine looking as good as this!
Have a similar setup on my '07 4runner. A little rub, but a solid lift.
Great job bro..! Look Insane!
Thank you man!!!
+1 for trailblade x/t 🤘🏴☠️ offers that good in between.
This guy's got 5 star sound if you listening with headsets
If you get a short telescoping paint roller rod you can cut to size and used to set toe measure the wheel inside of the ring wheel to wheel measure the rod front and rear and split the difference and allow for toe specks adjust
thx austin. also i seen that can of zyn im prayin for u hope you can defeat the demon of nicotine addiction
Great job dude 👌👌👌👌👌
These builds turn out so good! Learnin a bit as well on some vids. Wanna see what the next build is. If it’s a yota or what...
Lift and wheels came out nice. Do you have an updated link for the rear 5100 shocks? One in description doesn’t work. I think I’m gonna go with this lift and a 2inch body.
Amazing. Great job
Austin has skills!
Nice Rig brother
sick trick on compressing the springs
Bilstein makes great stuff!!
Good job Buddy
Looks great, a little paint correction to bring back the black and it would be mint 🥶
U r amazing Austin..u did d best of ur cars
you could get the napa high angle CVs and then reboot the stock ones to keep as spares
That Runner looks sweet! I was a little suspect when the front bumper went on as it looked a bit odd, not bad just odd! Only other aesthetic I would change would be to black out that rear bumper to match the theme. Other than that, this truck is killer! Great job!
Yes thats what i also said in a video, without a lift the bumper doesnt look right! Thank you man!
Austin
Always making does great videos!! 👊🏽👊🏽👍🏽
I appreciate that!
Awesome dude! Looks great
So what spring did you put in the rear? Either I missed it or you didn’t say. I heard 883’s in the front.
Looks killer man!
Красавчик!!! Good wheels, good job 👍!!!!
