You know guys, a few years ago when I started to really broaden my horizons on watches I'd love to own, this is the space that educated me & had me excited to get out there & buy some great watches. 3 years on from this both of you are still the place to go to be educated on everything about watches. It's why I still religiously watch every upload you make. Today's lesson for me is PP Calatrava 6007G & the IWC Portugieser Chrono, both of which have passed me by until today. Both watches are stunning & have me playing that game that we all love to.....do I sell X, Y & Z to get this......ha ha ha, no chance of that but I do now have 2 additional watches that are aspirational pieces to dream off. Great work, given the amount of content you guys produce. Yet another vindication of why I watch this channel every day. Keep up the great work guys :) ps I don't even like Chronos but this IWC & the Piaget are swiftly changing my mind on them.
Other “perfect” watches to consider, based on their iconic designs: Omega Moonwatch (Speedmaster), Rolex Submariner, JLC Reverso, IWC Pilot (or similar German B-Uhr), Breitling Navitimer, APRO, Hamilton Khaki Field, and the simplest of classic Swatches.
I was on the quest for my first "perfect" G-Shock. Initially, I considered the GBX-100, but I couldn't quite embrace it. The GBX-100 falls short of perfection; it lacks refinement. I encountered numerous issues with Bluetooth connectivity, and the app interface left much to be desired. The app is essential for syncing the watch and adjusting certain features, as it's quite challenging to do so directly on the watch itself. While the watch does have some interface issues, that's a story for another time. My search led me to the GW-5000U, which turned out to be my ideal first G-Shock. It's proudly made in Japan, featuring a screw-locking back, premium resin, and a steel inner case. Essentially, it stands as a more refined and premium version of the DW5600.
MaMaCoo You are so well-informed about luxury watches. You've obviously done your due diligence and the comparison to the US is very informative...because of course, I live in New York. thank you very much
I have the GBX-100, (which i feel is a step above gbd 200) and a Garmin Instinct Crossover, both with a MIP. The GShock's MIP looks so much better compared to my Garmin, which is around 3 times the price of GBX. I wish Casio would release a Tough Solar MIP G-Square.
Its a measure of how far Christopher Ward have come that the choice I found myself agreeing with most was the Bel Canto. I would have one right now had I not missed out on the Blue Limited Edition.
I was all set to buy the blue one - when I went to the website and saw that blue is not available and viewed the other colours, I was out. The other colours are not even close. It offends me that they think I would settle for the other ghastly colours. That's not how you build your customer case.
I impulse bought a 4 month old Hamilton day date and very pleasantly surprised how nice it is. Very accurate, clear to read and wears really nice. Looks good too and perfect when you want a classy but reserved look.
I've recently began my obsession as a watch collector. And i must say- out of all the luxury brands I've been researching, for me the amzwatch's watches are the most intriguing.
No such thing but it’s content that encourages a response. Black Bay burgundy on a rubber strap. I think that’s nearly perfect - no sapphire case back. Big Pilot 43 - a big date would be fantastic and it’s a little thick. The previous JLC master control date with the sector dial (absolutely incredible) would be exquisite if it were still in production.
I’ve been wearing Baume Mercier for the last 15 years. It has been perfect in every way. It keeps perfect time, it looks elegant and classy without looking over the top. I can’t imagine wearing any other watch.
4:45 holy smokes. I need to know the origination of that Adam Driver quote. Best thing I’ve heard all week. BTW, do you think Breitling was trying to get one over when they paid him to be a brand ambassador? 14:56 Wait, Tom watches K-dramas?!?!? Don’t worry Tom. It’s all cosmetic surgery.
Skydwellers are ugly. The fluted bezel and 24hr disc ruin it. The IWC is too big with a very busy dial. Chopard is easily outclassed by the Fifty Fathoms. Much better choice than a Submariner
@@cbowman1967Modern Blancpains are ugly as hell dude. 45mm and one of the worst after thought date windows. The Submariner blows away the Fifty. The Fifty fathoms hasn't been nice for a long time. The way the Longines still has the bottom half of the 6 underneath the sub dial bothers the hell out of me. It would look so much better with a more standard marker instead of half a number sticking out oddly.
Love my Longines sector dial... My only criticism is the hour hand is just a touch too long. I wish it came just short of the inner circle. At a quick glance it's easy to mix up the hands.
Wow! Iam amazed at myself. As somebody who despises gimmicky watches and who thinks RM should be on sale at the Lego Land gift shop, I love that MB&F watch.
Having owned the g shock, the bel canto, the tank, a Patek Calatrava and an Explorer - I can confirm four of the five are completely perfect. (I also suspect the black bay 58 and 54 of being perfect.) - However - the G-shock is not perfect - brilliant screen but terrible notifications and exercise tracking. Get a normal tough solar g shock square instead!
I agree. It's obvious he has never really tested those new health and sports features. That MIP screen looks great, but many owners report disappointment in the major watch forums. He should've picked the GW-5000U-1
So far, I feel like the Tissot Heritage 38 is perfect. Classic look with some modern updates, COSC certification for under $1000, it wears extremely comfortably, and the tactile feel of winding the crown just feels like precision.
The most perfect mechanical watch is the Glashutte Original Senator Chronometer with its crystal clear layout and most of all the zero reset with detente.
Aquaracer 40mm 2022. It was supposed to be just an entry to the world of higher-end watches. The problem? Beside the movement, it is winning aesthetically every 1-2-1 fight with other watches that I am trully interested in. Aesthetically, I find this aquaracer to be above other offerings at a similar or higher price. For example, Tudor BB is just not finished as good as the aquaracer. Not to mention tickness or overall equilibrium in dimensions. But the one thing that somehow is glued to my mind is simply how they went for the aquaracer and set the hour hand height preciselly at the height as the hour indices. And I have failed to find any other watch for which the same applies.
how do we judge the value of our watches. Is it the RRP, RRP - discount or the insured value, which is effectvely the RRP or "what someone is willing to pay for it"
Yeah that would probably be interesting... both would probably be hard-pressed to pick descriptions that wouldn't freely give away the watch, like radium lume or meteorite dials😅
