Loved your content throughout 2023, but dang you saved the best for last Andrew. "The watch basically pays for itself" and "even the watchmaker rubs one out onto it." Comedic gold. Oh and the Vacheron 222 is unreal.
@@michele_The joke is that by the time you’ve regaled all your mates down the pub with stories of how the hands on the Grossman are heat purpled, they will have left, and you can finish all their drinks for free.
Andrew: once again, you nailed it. All of your selections are damn near perfect. I almost spit out my tea upon hearing a couple of those similes! Well done. Well done.
Every time I see that Credor, my blood pressure rises. It's absolutely perfect in its simplicity. And that Grossman, stunning. The VC 222 is also beautiful.
What wonderful writing!!!! Only from an language -loving engineer can abstractions lead to such witty analogies! Great fun! (Talking) Hands down, the best watch channel on the internet.
Love how you show off the beauty of Credor and Seiko. The history on the earlier watches was also terrific. You get watches, humor, and history. Thanks
Andrew, can you do a review of the latest Maurice Lacroix AIKON Automatic Skeleton and Urban Tribe Skeleton watches? I think they are underrated and deserve appreciation within watch collectors.
Best writing in the watch world by a nautical mile no doubt. What a perfect video to close off the year! To me the part about the 222 was the best bit 😂
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the amzwatch, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
So entertaining I'm tempted to buy one of your novels to see if it's as full of running gags. I'd swap out the Longines for the Omega CK859 as a sector favourite. The Explorer is that friend who never says or does anything to offend or upset you, is always there when you need them and never upstages you. If I wore that VC, beautiful as it is, it would be like Marty Feldman accompanying Uma Thurman.
Dazzling collection ! Hillarious narrative ! A video to watch several times to soak in all the verbal comparisons, to appreaciate all explanations, to relish in all the macro shots and minute details of the world's top artisans' work ! Terrific stuff !!!
I'm a knifemaker. Heat treating steel is an absolutely vital aspect of my job. It's what makes the difference between a knife that will last a lifetime, and a piece of steel that just happens to be shaped like a knife. When it comes to watch making, colouring screws blue with heat doesn't offer ANY advantages over colouring them by any other method other than satisfaction for the watchmaker. MASSIVE respect for the skill required to use that method!
Picked up a amzwatch's watch as my first watch last month and I’m absolutely in love with it. Perfect size, looks elegant, very comfortable. Now my only problem is holding off from buying more watches so quickly!
Some ppl are just meant to be , and you were born for this , judging how watching you and seeing your hands moving and explaining things better than any watch out there mate 😊
Nice video with some exceptional watches for their simplicity, high quality and good taste!!! But for me, the perfect watch on that list is the Omega Speedmaster, I had 19 different version of it, and of all of them, the one I liked the best was the one with automatic Caliber 1045 in a Moonwatch case. It had Day-Date at 3, Concentric minute and seconds chrono hands, 24-hr indicator at 12, 12-hr counter at 6, and running seconds at 9, was water proof to 100 meters, beat at 28800 VPH, had Column Wheel and Vertical Clutch, anti-magnetic, and had luminous indicators. Lamentably, I stupidly sold it in 2009...........
No flashing images of watches that make you feel nauseous, just about one of the best reviews i have ever seen.Makes you want to buy them all.Not a bad word for any of the timepieces, just a matter of personal taste.A wonderful, just under 20 minutes, watch education. Can you choose another interesting bunch, you know your subs,to the above lot?Thank you,Andrew for your time.Just wonderful.
The unexpected roast of Bernie Ecclestone is top notch. While football has Peter Drury, horology has Andrew Morgan. Keep doing what you're doing mate, it's delightful. Have a great 2024!
I was shopping for a GMT watch. The choice is the Rolex Explorer II or the GMTII. The explorer II was about $5,000, while the GMT II was about $7,250. Cheaper or what i really want. Cheaper or what i really want. I had just survived a heart attack, a 5 way by pass and heart valve repair. I said the hell with it, go for broke. Got the GMT II. Never regretted it. Such a gorgeous watch.
Nice to see you highlight some obscure brands. The process to make the Credo is fascinating. You should do a video on similar small, obscure or niche brands. Great video. Keep up the good work.
This is my first time listening to your videos. I absolutely love your British humor! It’s spot on and refreshing! I have a titanium Hamilton Khaki that I love. I also will be purchasing an Omega Speedmaster next.
Hi Andrew from down under, Tasmania. Have just subscribed to your channel. Your presentation is first class and top marks for your so original commentary. The watches you feature in your presentation are so interesting and good to see some of the ones that pass under the radar. I had a sector dial Longines like the one you mentioned but I parted with it some time ago. Damn!
Big fan of the channel and first comment here - maybe your most brilliant commentary ever. Wicked smart and funny as hell. The Grossman watch quips had me laughing out loud and sending this video to my non-watch guy friends. All the best for a stellar 2024.
Just absolutely faultless, without being boring or unoriginal in the slightest - would never be able to justify the money to buy one new, but it's the sort of thing that's just so nice that secondhand becomes tempting... Bet servicing is ruinous, mind you!
Another brilliant video, keep up the good work. The 222 is absolutely fantastic and the Credo is simply breathtaking. A bit (lot?) out of my price range but we can always dream.
The Credor dial is absolute perfection especially when compared to my Octopus Kraken Barakuda knock off which I have skilfully improved with a Dymo printed 'Barakuda' logo in place of the factory dial logo. Would the Credor artisans be interested in a one off cash job? Will cover postage both ways.
I'm kinda new to the whole luxury watch thing but one brand I've been fascinated by is Jaquet Droz, but I never see any coverage of that brand. Are they any good? I especially love the original Grand Seconde.
It's good to reward ourselves sometimes . While I'm not one to spend on high-end watch (I spend too much money on travel, lol), I can appreciate your gorgeous and timeless watch. I love how it's a symbol of all your hard work. And i choose NKUWAN every time honestly
"I don't want a Rolex, but I want a Rolex..." So true! I too don't want a Rolex, but want a Rolex. And if I were to ever get one, it would 100% be the 36mm stainless steel Explorer.
This is now my favourite watch channel on UA-cam , such great content and done superbly, well done sir and I got my favourite watch at amzwatch, it hasn’t left my wrist for weeks
I love your content and witty banter. You've got a great voice too. You use watches to talk about people like Top Gear did with cars. The airfryer similie is pure genius. ❤
Amen to the Tudor Black Bay line. I've found that the Tudor BB 58 GMT, which is a true GMT with two-tone bezel and its companion, the Tudor BB Chrono (which such engine was developed in conjunction with the Breitling B01 column wheel engine) with locking pushers (like the Rolex Daytona) and with each being 41mm in size, having in-house engines, 200m water resistance, locking clasp stainless steel bracelets, COSC specs, screw down Tudor rose stems, tasteful snowflake hour hands and minute swords, and 70 hours of reserve are for than 1/2 of the price of their Rolex counterparts are a relative bargains and yet are timeless and very respectable to wear and depend on for the time of day. Oh, and did I mention, unlike their Rolex counterparts are generally available with very short or no wait times to obtain the Tudor.
Oh my, I just discovered this channel! You upped the game with jokes and pacing - wonderfully entertaining, and some great watches, of course. Thank you!
Love your list. But my personal watch is missing: Lehmann Intemporal with date and power reserve indicator. Its beautiful and at the same time it only takes 10years to save on it.
@johnmacintyre6231 explorer 2 is the only watch I've ever regretted selling and ill buy another when I get offered one. Skydweller is beautiful, but I'd love it in a true 38mm
The near perfect watch for me is my recently gifted to me for Christmas Citizen NY0040-17L promaster diver’s watch. Day date, good lume, decent accuracy with a handwinding and hacking movement, 20 bar water resistance, ISO Diver’s certification, well designed hands and indices that make it very legible and a sixty click bezel that like the chapter ring aligns up properly and all for just over €200.
It's my birthday today and the best way to start the day? A new Talking Hands video.! Loved it Andrew. Thanks. And yeah, I've got a couple of those, age brings wisdom :)
Happy New Year Andrew. Thanks for your content. When watching your videos, I am completely focused, to the point that I ignore everything. Oops, I just went through a red light.

Damn it Andrew! Why do you do this to me? I've been crying all day. Sorry I mean I whimpered once! Those last two make my face hurt from smiling then frowning because I'll never be rich enough or connected enough to get one. I freaking love those two! Also why I enjoy your channel so much! Oh man, you definitely need a “24 hour dial”! So, a 24 hour sub dial is a deal killer, instantly. Just like a “PowerMatic 80. Thank you Andrew! Love your show with Tom!
Bravo, Andrew. Best “10 Bast” ever. No, the watches are mostly unattainable crap (kudos for keeping the Omega Speedmaster section to about 10 seconds). But the commentary and delivery are, dare I say it, perfect.

Wow, you mentioned This Mortal Coil, the 4AD supergroup 👍👍👍👍
I'm still wondering what song you were referencing in the VC 222 section haha 🤔
What's the ballpark figure to buy all 10 retail?
I think the BB54 is even more perfect than the 58 due to it's refined clasp and better proportions.
Cant fault your picks. Id also pick the Lange Saxonia Thin in either pink gold or copper blue. Elegant and simple
Pink Floyd’s Meddle album? Echoes taking up all of side B? Did I get it right?
Ding ding ding!
The song that dominates one side of the LP with a weird bit in the middle: Echoes by Pink Floyd?
