My Casio F-91w survived nearly a year of non-stop beating, as a healthcare worker there were times I barely removed the watch and washed it down with tons of soap, water, alcohol, even iodine and cidex. It survived it all and still keeps on trucking, its even cleaner than myself during the start of the pandemic.
I bought a Rolex Explorer to show everyone that I’m a risk taking, free thinking adventurer. Problem is that it tells everyone I’m duller than a candle in fog.
A friend once house-sat for me for a few days. When I returned, I thanked him, he headed back off to the other side of Oz - and I realised after a few days I could not find my alarm clock - the old hand-wound with bells on top etc. Had my friend really pinched my alarm clock? I would have given it to him... A couple of months later, I flipped my mattress over, as you do, and there in the middle on the base was my alarm clock, the winding keys of which had punctured my mattress base. I rang my friend and discovered he could not find anywhere in the flat where it could not be heard ticking while he slept, so he buried it in the bed.
Love the Bel Canto. Unfortunately it’s easier to tell the time in the dark than in bright light. The dial is difficult to read. Maybe the hands should be in a contrasting color?
When I flip off the diving board of my super yacht wearing my 5811, a Navy Seal always shouts out,"Did you screw the crown down?" That can be annoying.
I wear my Bel Canto Verde pretty often. Who the hell needs to know what time it is anyway?! I can always have a pretty good guess by the hourly chime..."Ahh it's probably 3pm or 4pm...one of the two!" 😁
I recently got the bronze Legend Diver and must say despite the large lugs it wears extremely well on my ~7" wrist. I couldn't be happier with the watch, and as long as it fits you I wouldn't let the on-paper dimensions deter you.
The Casio F91W is awesome. Sometimes it feels good (smart?) to wear a classic, simple watch that is such a great bargain. I’ve never got a “smelly bracelet” and in fact never even heard of that.
The speedmaster moonwatch is a right pain in the rear end. Having to constantly turn that little crown that's hidden behind the case shoulders acting like a crown guard is just.... I am getting PTSD remembering the whole annoying experience. I ended up selling it and getting a manual-wind Laco pilot's watch. By contrast, winding the Laco is actually a joy.
Ahmmmm…the Bel Canto (which I have) has another little thing that no one talks about…legibility or lack of. Yes I love it but as a watch there is no such thing as a quick glance! CW should have put on a black hand set
I once owned a jewelry store and must’ve replaced thousands of watch batteries. Plastic digital watches like the Casio would leave crumbs on my work table as they’d be caked with sweat hardened dead skin cells. Was always pretty gross.
The bel canto issue is a 'you problem'. If your such a light sleeper then turn it off or store it outside your bedroom or put the watchbox in a drawer.
I had a laugh because I've had the same thing happen with my Bel Canto in the middle of the night. I've even considered moving my watches into a different room.
I bought a Meistersinger Primatik 365 one handed limited edition watch and love to show it to people who ask about it but whenever they ask me about it it’s always in dim lit conditions and I say the time to find I’m about 10 minutes out making me look daft. I love the watch though …… I really love the watch. ❤
My favorite watch right now is my Hamilton Jazzmaster, one of the things I love is that I can take it off for the weekend leave it on a shelf and its still set when I grab it for work Monday morning. 80 hours of reserve. But then I have to wind it.... and for some reason I want it fully wound.... Or at least close.... it winds, and winds and winds, until my fingertips bleed. At least that's how it feels
I’ve never been attracted to the CW Bel Canto, but I have just taken delivery of the CW C60 Atoll 300 in Reef Blue. I think it’s one of the most beautiful watches I’ve ever seen (and I’ve binged watch reviews on UA-cam for many years!). It won’t be everyone’s cup of tea for sure, but it would be great to see you review it and/or the shark white dial. Both colour versions have “fumé” dials and are absolutely stunning.
“But doesn’t wake up enough to know what is going on” thats a dave chappelle funny shit level looool. Andrew man we need to see you Netflix special 😂. Seriously
May I say this video is AMAZING?! that analogy or should I say anecdote about the Bel Canto ( I am in the process of acquiring one) is spot on and never thought about it. Thank you!
"True GMT" watches, and watches where the hour hand can be set in 1-hour-steps - if one does not wear them daily or keeps them on a winder. Setting the date on them is a pain in the rear, as one has to skip through 24 hours just to change the date by one day.
Such an overlooked point. I had a GS Spring Drive GMT which I loved, and this was one of the main reasons I gave it up. I wear watches in a rotation and hated having to set the date on that thing. Just add another crown position guys lol.
My blights with the f91w: 1. The light is so worthless it might as well not exist 2. The ability to adjust the time is found when scrolling through the modes. Makes it far too easy to accidentally reset the seconds. 3. The light button is the same as resetting the stopwatch. So hope you don’t gotta time anything in the dark.
@@ayandey137 you do it in the dark? What the wife ain’t pretty enough? Being able to use the stop watch after dark is useful for one very simple reason that should be obvious for someone with half a brain cell. The functionality of the watch (let alone a digital watch) shouldn’t be cut in half just because the sun goes down. For example, running. When running it is useful to use a stopwatch to track your pace time and when the sun isn’t up it’s almost impossible to see the display. But not that your fat keyboard warrior ass has that problem.
I may get some hate for this, but my Omega Seamaster 300 has some of the worst lume of any watch I own. It's the only watch that can't get enough charge from the lights at work to make it legible in the dark.
Andrew, I must disagree with your opinion of the Casio's proclivity to poor hygiene. I wear my FW91 24/7 and it remains as odor and sweat free as ever. Of course if one has poor personal hygiene, the watch isn't to blame. And the strap if adjusted properly certainly does not cause profuse sweating!

Vintage Cartier Pasha, from the initial launch, because of the Gerald Genta connection. It has a magnifying lens over the date, but it’s the size of a pimple, and it’s really difficult to see.

Re cheap Casio straps - I replace them with inexpensive velcro straps from random Chinese brands on Amazon. A little filing of the hard plastic strap-ends makes them fit nicely.
Cheap NATO straps, and I mean CHEAP like the cheapest ones you can get, also work. The material is thin enough that it will work with casio digitals like the F91.
@@kutter_ttl6786 True, but by running under the watch they also add bulk, and unless you do some cutting on a wider strap they look too narrow for the watch. The velcro ones don't run under the watch, and the hard plastic ends have shoulders so the strap width looks a lot better on the watch.

My issue with the belcanto is that it's too light and because of that feels kinda cheap. I wish it was steel. I have another titanium watch so I'm used to the lightness, just something about this watch looks like it should be heavy. I also thoroughly hate the bracelet. I'm getting an ostrich strap for it.
