It may seen weird but I think paper cutters are awesome. Cool project.
East Sac Workshop I agree 👍 I've always secretly coveted those big old wooden ones we used to have in school.
Really cool! And that tape measure explosion was unbelievable! ha ha
You are amazing w your level of detail!!
That looks great Raymond, nice work brother!
That was awesome! That is definitely on my list of projects to make now! Keep up the good work!
That is really neat! Very creative. ❤️
Great video man! Ive always wanted to make my own notebook. Thanks for the info!
Revived Builds thank you!
Turned out Beautiful !!!
+Elise Barger thanks!
If you want to do well, do it yourself. It turned out super!
Юра thank you!
Came out awesome!
+Darbin Orvar thank you! It was fun, and should come in handy!
sweet job Ray!
Nice job Ray!
Omg when that tape measure blew apart 😂
Cool tool for making to curved corners.
It's those small details that makes it Pro.
+Marcel's Workshop devils in the details 👍
Great video and great project!!!
+Marla White thank you!
Awesome job on that. As I was watching you do that I was pondering what kind of glue they might have used years ago when making books. Thanks!
+Kevin Freeman likely it would have been something like hide glue for the leather and wheat paste for paper etc. but they would not have been constructed like this. Some interesting info on historic glues www.rocks4brains.com/glue.pdf
thats absolutely beautiful😍💖
J Lynn thank you 😊
TabLeft Workshop you're welcome 😊
Turned out great! I try to avoid junk notepads...I figure if it's worth me writing it's worth writing in a nice book.
Make With Dad thanks!
Perfection! Very much to my taste! Love this. Do you have any more details on the stitching as it wasn't quite clear.
+Stuff I Made thank you! I included a link to a really good tutorial on kettle stitching in the description
TabLeft Workshop thanks dude!
Reminds me of the grail journal in Last Crusade.
PistolPat haha yeah kinda! I hadn't thought about that 👍
Really great video. Thanks for posting! Can you explain the leather you used and where you got it?
+chexstix it's just a cheap mid weight (about 4oz) shoulder I got from Tandy leather some time ago. Usually on sale for about $30USD
I watched this when it 1st came out. I have just had a 2 day marathon of watching bookbinding videos. I watched a lot of Sea Lemons too. Question, how has the glue joint from the leather to the paper held up?
Tom's Dreamshop Worx the glue has held fine but I made this for a several week long sailing trip where I’d be away from basically all communications that I ended up having to cancel. So its mostly just sat unused.
Im jealous of the notebook you made....... I always may one for my own but it always lack paper..... Well i guess due to lazyness but still...... 😅😅
Looks amazing, but given the sanded / cut edges, I wonder if that doesn't affect the waterproof-ness of it. Still: beautiful result!
Andre Berthiaume I had the same though but I'm not really looking for water proof so much as resistant if a bit of rain or ocean spray got on the surface. I might test some of the offcuts anyways to see how they holdup
could you leave a link to the tools you used?
Is it lay flatly?
What tipe of sharpie is that?
What type of glue was used to seal the binding?
Griffin Holbert It’s called Jade glue. It’s an archival acid free PVA for art and books etc.
Great video! What's the name of the tool you used at 7:25 to cut the grooves into the spine area of the leather?
I think I used a combination of a stitching groover and edge beveler
@@TabLeft Thank you! Just got myself a groover and works great! 👍
😂 looks like u have my luck !
Sometimes meter go crazy..!
Can you make one for me 🤫🤫
