Those are fantastic. I love how you incorporated a quote amd a motif from each book into the spine and back. High praise for craftsmanship, but also for subtlety and cleverness. I'd absolutely be proud to have a set like this on my bookshelf 🤙🤙🤙
Well that's not exactly how it works. You can't "print" these the same way you can with paperback and hardback (At least I don't think, I'm not an expert), but these are absolutely mind bogglingly stunning.
I know it’s not the same, but there are already gorgeous “special” edition collections with stunning covers, for Harry Potter and a few other books/collections. They aren’t hand made and most likely aren’t leather, but worth a look if you are interested
I cringed with every rip, it felt sacrilegious in the begining. But when I saw the final product, I was reborn and am now a follower :) Absolutely stunning, well done. ❤❤
This is so beautiful! I love the quotes and the artistic work, and I have never seen the process of binding and how to work with the leather…super interesting! Lord of the Rings…please do it…3 seperate books. ❤
I can't express my admiration at the meticulous work and effort you put in to make these. I am a newbie at this and it will be years before I am able to come close to this type of work, I am wondering but people of 100 years from now will think of your work when they see this - this must be one of the rarest book collections in the Country! You have a new subscriber
@DesignedByDaydreams is it possible to commission something similar? These are the most gorgeous things! If I had any artistic talent, I'd try myself. Sadly I have none.
You elevated those books from having mass produced book covers to beautiful unique works of art and made it look so effortless. I cannot image how much time and energy a project like this must take but you executed it wonderfully. Well done! ✨💜
You are so good at what you do, I am absolutely in awe of your work! These are the most stunning book covers I have ever seen! Thank you for sharing you wonderful gift!
Your book covers came out beautiful! I would like to share a little tip with you when you dye leather. instead of using a wool Dobber I use a scrap piece of bark Tanned wool shearling about the size of your and when you’re dying your leather. You will get much more even and better coverage. You won’t get the streak in us and have to do so many coats. This is especially true when you were dying black because black is one of the trickiest colors to dye, leather streak, free and even. You can buy a bag of these scraps really cheap from places like Tandy generally.
As someone who does bookbinding in her freetime, I really have to acknowledge the amount of work you put into these. These reworks are absolutely gorgeous! If I do raised bands, though, I only do them when I actually sew the sections together, as an additional stabilizer. What material did you use for those? I don't think that was shown in the video... And did you just simply glue them onto the inside of the spine and then work them out with a bone folder? I have to admit, I have never worked with adhesive binding before XD
Amazing work. Will they hold up better now they are rebound or will they fall apart like normal paperbacks? The textblock is still only glued, not sewn.
Those are simply amazing. Beautiful!! I love the inside book cover of the last book.. they were all fabulous but that one is my favorite. That color just pots out
So impressed with the artistry and craftspersonship this required. So much love and care into preserving these wonderful stories that changed the world for the better. Amazing work and thank you for sharing the process with us.
I learned the Art of Bookbinding for two years. The absolutely brutality one does to books before they're finished regularly scared the hell out of bookworms whenever they visited our workshop to see how books are hand made. It was quite amusing but also taught me how much a good piece of handiwork can take. Hammering the back if a book to be round can be quite taxing.
Omg! I literally had my jaw open the whole video! That was mesmerising to watch. I want that set but I dread to think of the cost. Not that it's not money well earned! I mean wow, you earned it for sure. But it's a luxury I couldn't afford, but if I could... I'd have you rebind ALL MY BOOKS, not just my Harry Potter books. Stunning. Thank you UA-cam for suggesting this...😘 xxxxx
Absolutely brilliant!! Love the leather colors and all the details specific to each book you added! Your attention to detail and steady hand is amazing
I cannot explain the feeling I felt from ripping the cover off, but for this end result it was worth it, I bow your skills! I hope you sell those if not consider it!
Fantastic work. I love the red used for the order of the phoenix. And that is the perfect quote from the prisoner of Azkaban. Although personally from the chamber of secrets, I prefer "you shall not harm Harry Potter" 😊 these look great all together. You're very talented.
The physical reaction I had to ripping those covers off. 😅 But the end result was incredibly worth it. They're stunning, and bring such a level of elegance and beauty to these books. Amazing work. ❤
Simply beautiful these books. You have truly artistic talent. I love hardcover books. Barnes & Noble reopened a bookstore in my town. I was so excited to go in and buy a hardcover book. Every book in that store was paperback. Disgusting 🤢
Hi! AMAZING VIDEO! I have a few questions, where do you buy all your leather? And what's the best type of leather for book binding? Would love to start doing this myself! Thanks!
@@JUdeWULF I get all my leather from my local Tandy leather. I use veg tanned sheep leather which is 2-3mm a thick. You could also use goat leather. And there is lots of pretreated leather to you could use. Just don’t use anything to thick.
I'd love to have a cover with Lupin and Sirius for Prisoner of Azkaban. And maybe a favorite quote from each book on the back. Love the Marauder's Map Footprints on the spine of book 3!
Absolutely fantastic job… I was looking everywhere to find a complete set like that… I would definitely buy it, I’ve listened to Harry Potter in audiobooks but now I would love to buy the whole set as books, but I would like a “collector” version with leather bound… if you ever take commissions to redo something similar, let us know!!
These are soooo beautiful and beautifully done! I get so amazed at the talent that is out there in the world! Great job, this set looks like something to display and never touch in case fingers leave messiness behind 😂!!! Thank you for your video.
The amount of courage it takes to rip the covers like that is insane
LOVE the end result BTW
Thank you 😊 I’m not gunna lie it feels kind of illegal to pull the covers off.
This is why I did my first rebinding with a book that already had damaged covers.
I was cringing
Seriously bc the amount of disgust I had on my face 😂😂😂 she was ripping my heart out
@@DesignedByDaydreams Nah for me at least, seeing how wasy was to rip the original covers, it feels like is vindicating your process lol
Ripping the covers is no big deal, these are mass-produced books. The end result created art with much more value. Beautiful work!

Fourteen minutes of my life I didn’t know I needed. Incredibly beautiful work
Harry Potter Publishing house should work with you to make tons of these marvellous covers, wow so impressed.

They will be to expensive
They will try to pay her less then they will price so better she will make custom and you pay her directly 100 % of price.
You make this look easy 😂 but it’s so impressive. And then doing this for SEVEN books! Amazing
Thank you! 😊
I could literally watch you do this for hours … you’re a wizard harry 🤗
Thank you so much 😊
I love that you just get straight to it. No unnecessary introduction.
I cringed with every rip, it felt sacrilegious in the begining. But when I saw the final product, I was reborn and am now a follower :) Absolutely stunning, well done. ❤❤
When I saw you rip the covers, I was like: “Oh, no!” But then I went: “Wow! This is amazing!”😍 This is ART!❤️👏🫶
I bet it's a real conversation starter whenever you have people over and they see those amazing leather-bound books on the bookshelf. Incredible work!

That’s going to be my next video 👀. If you go follow my instagram @designedbydaydreams I post updates for my books there sooner.
The way my heart also ripped with each one of those rips 😭
Made me feel a little queasy

@@jstonefire4750 you don't need artistic talent to do basic rebinding. The designs on the covers, though... that's a whole different story XD
These are the best Harry Potter book rebindings I have seen.
You did it without having a vial of Felix felicis. Wow😮
You're a wizard Harry ❤
You are a Magical Library Fairy 😍 This was so Wonderful. I Love Books, and this was like watching them get tailored made Ball Gowns & Tuxedos 😊
OMG you should do the selection books next by kiera cass!
