- I am rebinding the Harry Potter series into a LEATHER bound book set. I had so much fun making these books and I'm really happy with how they all turned out.

This is why I did my first rebinding with a book that already had damaged covers.

Ripping the covers is no big deal, these are mass-produced books. The end result created art with much more value. Beautiful work!

Harry Potter Publishing house should work with you to make tons of these marvellous covers, wow so impressed.
Well that's not exactly how it works. You can't "print" these the same way you can with paperback and hardback (At least I don't think, I'm not an expert), but these are absolutely mind bogglingly stunning.
I know it’s not the same, but there are already gorgeous “special” edition collections with stunning covers, for Harry Potter and a few other books/collections. They aren’t hand made and most likely aren’t leather, but worth a look if you are interested

This is so beautiful! I love the quotes and the artistic work, and I have never seen the process of binding and how to work with the leather…super interesting! Lord of the Rings…please do it…3 seperate books. ❤

I plan on rebind an ugly edition I have of "Wuthering heights" when I have the time
Your book covers came out beautiful! I would like to share a little tip with you when you dye leather. instead of using a wool Dobber I use a scrap piece of bark Tanned wool shearling about the size of your and when you’re dying your leather. You will get much more even and better coverage. You won’t get the streak in us and have to do so many coats. This is especially true when you were dying black because black is one of the trickiest colors to dye, leather streak, free and even. You can buy a bag of these scraps really cheap from places like Tandy generally.
I love this result, it looks fabulous but I would not be brave enough to do it myself.
These are insane! The time it takes to do this and the results are sooo worth it!!

@@jstonefire4750 you don't need artistic talent to do basic rebinding. The designs on the covers, though... that's a whole different story XD
Wonderful! I have a friend who profesionally restore books. I have seen hundreds of books before and after restoration.

As someone who does bookbinding in her freetime, I really have to acknowledge the amount of work you put into these. These reworks are absolutely gorgeous!
If I do raised bands, though, I only do them when I actually sew the sections together, as an additional stabilizer. What material did you use for those? I don't think that was shown in the video... And did you just simply glue them onto the inside of the spine and then work them out with a bone folder? I have to admit, I have never worked with adhesive binding before XD
