    Hey great video, my son bought a 1991 4runner with the 3vze engine and it has a couple of vacuum hoses that are plugged up with screws and we have no idea where they are supposed to plug in at. Do you have a diagram that would show where they all go. Appreciate the help.

      Check this video out, it's for a 94 4runner but It is the same engine. Do know they changed a few things on that engine throughout those years. I am also going through issues, had my heads rebuilt but my cousin set everything as the previous owners left it and were those owners just dumb lol

    Do you have to replace any gaskets on the intake?
    Would you recommend replacing the valve cover gaskets while I have all that off?

    I see you removed the metal tubing bracket from under the plenum. How do you route the heater core hose that originally goes to the back of the plenum, under it, and into the water outlet on the front of the engine? Most people seem to leave all that when they delete, but I like what you did to get as much crap off the engine as possible. Good job. Yeah, my 31-year-old PCV grommet fought me like a b'tch. cheers

      They are far from immortal. The 3vze is nothing special, and poor for Toyota standards. Besides, it makes mediorcre power, and gas mileage. Inaccesable bolts everywhere. If I ever work on one again, I'm pulling the motor, and trans together.

    Cold injector hose costs $120+, PCV can't be found at a local auto parts. If I want another old beater, I will buy GM with a 4.3L. They last as long as a 3zve. Make better power, about equal mileage, and are far easier, and cheaper to fix. Owned 22re for 30 years. Last a long time, but are gutless, and not fuel efficient.

    • @carlosvelasco4119
      @carlosvelasco4119 2 роки тому

      I agree it's just too old,no power, bad gas mileage and too complicated for what it is. It's no wonder parts stores don't stock parts for them. Send them to the junk yard. Now my 01 Tacoma is a different story

      @@NuttyNu replaced knock sensor and pigtail but I can’t figure out where the wire goes into the ecu at because I still have code 52 and also code 51 which is tps. Engine runs like crap and has a ticking sound to it after doing knock sensor and new intake manifold gasket. Replaced plug wires new AFM, tried to adjust the tps but it’s causing it to cut in and out while trying to accelerate. Just really irritated with the whole situation
