Global Mobilization is maybe my favorite content addon/DLC for ARMA 3, the terrain is well detailed, every building is enterable and it looks really good, I use it a lot for videos and screenshots. It's really cool that they are still supporting it many years after release with such a big and meaningful update, a really incredible team.
Hey Jack 👋 this is one of the things about Arma I love, wether it be community made content, creator dlc or even official base game. For the most part nothing gets truly abandoned and to keep updating a dlc after 4 years is just awesome.
Imagine if we could go back 40 years ago and tell soldiers back then that a group of individuals can "simulate" something like the force recon mode by using a computer. I know it's not a real thing, but that amount of basic information has to be taught to a foot soldier from day 1. It also gives some good feedback on how to proceed with decision making.
Yes, quite unique when compared to similar offerings. When I talking to the developers this game mode and update in general seemed to develop quite naturally. The game mode lends itself very well to the setting and gave the devs a good enough reason to add some really cool gadgets to support these mission types.
I would dare to say that this patch has brought Global Mobilization up to SOG levels of quality, detail, content and gameplay, and that is A LOT given that many consider SOG to be the pinnacle of what the Arma 3 engine can achieve. Kudos to the amazing team of talented and kind human beings behind this CDLC! You should all be very proud of what you have accomplished!
@@luigisaguier8336 maybe because vietnam things are generally popular and well received all across the board, much like how unsung was one of the biggest mods back in the day
GM defenitly was already on the level of quality and detail if not better than S.O.G. Both have their strong suits, GM for example has more in the singleplayer department.
All valid points. I do believe the quality was always there but with the new assets and overhaul of existing then yes it's definitely 'up there'. As for comparisons against SOG, yeah the play me appeal was and will probably remain higher for SOG looking at what's popular culture. That being said, just because it's more 'niche' GM is not on a lesser footing quality wise, it's just not everyones jam. Tbh I've enjoyed each dlc on their own merits.
You love to see it (both update and your video). :> When these CDLCs started coming out I didn't think they would be supported like this. Especially these scenarios look super promising. God knows I love a little dynamic generation in my life. :>
Yeah I watched back a very early (and cringe) video of mine talking about the cDLC situation. I think with the quality, added content and continued support that this and other cDLC are worth the pennies now. I wish this game mode had come earlier though.
Yeah I think you're right. It would have help with the fact that after the campaign, this CLDC itself didn't have much more playable stuff on offer at release but I guess even then it wasn't that bad value. In comparison, Contact DLC by BI gave us mostly reskins of a few vehicles and some infantry stuff for a higher price with a shorter campaign and smaller map if I'm not mistaken. :| So... I guess I'm just gonna keep being amazed by what we've got in the end. :D
Another fantastic video mate! So good to see GM get some good attention. I always thought GM had great potential, but found it pretty disappointing TBH. But this is looking really interesting - it might even bring me back to Arma 3 (I’ve only been playing Arma Reforger since it came out last May) Thanks for this, it was a great showcase…and as an Aussie I really appreciated the Skippy reference! 😉
Glad you enjoyed Glenn, yeah GM has always had some fantastic assets and it just needed a game mode which screamed play me. I think they may have found it.
Another great update, but question, have they added any new music? The last update they added a couple of tracks and I was wondering if they were continuing with that trend
Ooo good question, especially since I only really got into it after making the video ..gonna be honest I didn't like the tracks at first but after listening to them and fitting them into the video they have definitely grown on me. Anyway back to your question, I don't believe so but it never got brought up so can't say with certainty.
Tbh not had a chance to look because of COVID and then popping a rib lmao. I'll spin her up later and take a look. If not I'm gonna get straight in the horn to Johnnyboy (SOG AI mod creator) and see if he can make it compatible for some SP action. Think it would be a perfect fit for the mod and cDLC
I'm confused, when I search "Force Recon" or "Force Recon GM" in the workshop I get like 100 results, I have no idea which one is the official :/ Please help!
I would suggest giving it a try. Cold war germany's is a bit of a niche, but honestly, it's a really cool premise. Who doesn't want to sneak across the most surveilled border in the world for a photo op with the boys?@@Storming32
Unfortunately not dankmeme, I'm praying that SOG AI mod extends its support to GM force recon. It's a natural fit. The creator has got a lot on his plate right now but here's hoping 🙏
For that reason there is a GM specific arsenal AND there are a couple of 80's adaptations of existing factions. Intact you raise an idea to formulate some awareness of such things. Thanks for the comment!
Lol, true but You could turn off the recon points and just go in and blow sh*t up instead, replacing a heavy radio with....a....heavy backpack full of explosives :P
Hey Zachery, The audio mix sounded fine when editing. Quite balanced and subtle. Just listened on my phone and yeah, music bit too loud. I don't like removing it completely as videos can sound very flat. No music may work for scenes of intrigue in a drama but not well for information throwing. Either way, in the future, I'll try and preview it on my phone/other devices before publishing. 👍

Actual recon such a good idea for the setting.

SOG isn't that impressive
@@Gofaw Maybe, or maybe it is the most sold CDLC for a reason?

ugh, this is mad exciting! And you've done a great job representing the update thus far HazBo!

GM is one of the best dlcs with such high quality equipment
they are really trying to catch up with SOG PF, I LOVE IT. CSLA should be ashamed
Finally good looking aks
The whole ak platform looks very sexy Indeed

i bought this DLC exclusively for the Force Recon scenario, but the absolute flatness of Werferlingen makes it hard to sneak around

Yes, new music was added.
Forgive my ignorance but what is Operation lipno or litnow for CSLA?
The game mode is definitely cool, but I really want to see the nitty gritty about the equipment
On its way, been struck with flu. But I'll get either the nitty or the gritty out 🙏
@@HazBofficial Oh no rush - feel better!
Is there other campaign than State scarlet ? Maybe fan made ?
Hi Hazbo, great video and thanks for the review. is Force Recon playable/available for SP like DRO?

FORCE RECON: How does this compare to Dyanmic Recon Ops?
Sup Apoc, Was this a question or a video title suggestion? 😁

Here is the link to the collection that contains the official/original mission n files.

Force recon would be an amazing gamemode if someone ports it to the Angola maps for some bush war nonsense, just seems perfect for it
Yes I can definitely see the 'shoe' fitting there.
I immediately thought this too. I wasn't really interested in GM until I saw this game mode.
I would suggest giving it a try. Cold war germany's is a bit of a niche, but honestly, it's a really cool premise. Who doesn't want to sneak across the most surveilled border in the world for a photo op with the boys?@@Storming32
We need 80s and 90s british factions.....i do recomend the mod Queen and Country
Can you have ai Companions.

Tacti Comm 4AI :D
I dont see any valid point on launching a weferlingen server without limiting loadouts on arsenal.
For that reason there is a GM specific arsenal AND there are a couple of 80's adaptations of existing factions. Intact you raise an idea to formulate some awareness of such things. Thanks for the comment!
Can't wait to play it alone and be over encumbered the entire time so I can't run
