This CDLC is an absolute blast, some of the best content for ArmA 3 in a long time. I decided to show off Mike Force first to show some variety in the kit. Two campaign videos are coming, of missions 1-3 and missions 4-6.
What unit/clan is this?
This is my unit, the Cadian XXth. Casual milsim, roleplay and all those weird ops that you never get to play in your normal milsim group. It can be found in the discord: / discord

What is this mod?
This is S.O.G. Prairie Fire, a Creator DLC for ArmA 3 by Savage Game Design. It's a Vietnam-era DLC.
Are you SovietWomble?
I wish. Video definitely has inspiration from the likes of Soviet and Max0r, but I try to strike a nice line for telling a story, humorous edits and actual gameplay. I try to put out a video every three days, hence why not every single video will be a Fustercluck or not as long or detailed as I'd like. Time constraints are a problem.

I read a memoir written by a VC soldier, some of the stories are crazy. The training of a lot of VC Soldiers was minimal, and they would end up doing ridiculous things like pulling the pin on their grenades when they would get in a fight with their fellow soldiers, but not realizing that they were timed - or strapping their mortars on trees, which would give them a lot of leverage, but also had the nasty side effect of the tree exploding due of the backfire which would cause wood shrapnel to spray in all directions, usually killing the soldier handling the mortar in the process...

From terrible mortar fire and malfunctions all the way to air strikes mistaking the coordinates and dropping their payload on their own men. The Vietnam War was a true hellhole to all involved
A good Vietnam story I remember was an artillery fire base receiving a fire mission from a platoon they were getting the coordinations when all of a sudden another fire mission from a separate platoon was coming in the fire bases was working on both. Before long all the talking for it was done and they were now about to fire when they realised something odd. When calling in a fire mission you give both the coordinates for your position and the enemy position. Well the coordinates for the first platoon enemy position was the friendly coordinates for the second fire mission. The fire base realised the two platoons were calling in artillery on each other and quickly notified both before they started shooting each other.

0:11 As a 11C this is the nightmare we all dread because those “Cheese Charges” are made by bored and overworked civilians/privates on top of the fact if they aren’t kept in vacuum sealed conditions they tend to get mushy.
There tends to be a lot of miss fires because of them

You sound exactly like the NCO in charge of my section. And with the Vietnam era equipment, it’s almost like basic, which I did in 83. All our instructors had been in Vietnam. Of course, nobody was shooting at us for real and we only had one or two M16s per platoon (the SLR was still a thing in those days) but the countryside looks very similar to Queensland, esp when we went north for an exercise. Anyway, I’m sure you don’t care but the memories came flooding back unexpectedly when I started this vid. I was only a chocko but as my studies weren’t very taxing, I volunteered for secondments fairly often. My heart was with the regs, even though my regiment was an OTC one :D.
Ive been so excited for this DLC to come out, so much great content will come from it :)

All this mod needs now is ghostly the gunship and the chinook gunship that’s equipped with 4 50.cal, missiles you see on hueys and a grenade launcher
i also learned this lesson the hard way. next time i was sneaking up on the vc and it happened to them before i made contact

The Cadian XXth seems to be stuck with PDF gear again I see.
I hear that the US would allow the VCs to capture ammo and explosives like mortars and grenades that were sabotaged. For ammo, it was usually pistol powder or some sort of explosive in side the rifle rounds so that it would cause the VC's rifles to explode, and as for explosives like mortars, well often times they were made to explode as soon as the mortar was fired, other times they were duds or squib loads while with grenades if could be given the wrong time of fuse so the grenades wouldn't go off or instant fuses so the grenades would go off as soon as the spoon was released. This is actually quite realistic if you think about it.

Loved the video Rimmy! You should do another VTuber Video, but have them play along in the Vietnam war with you guys, maybe see if the last batch of VTubers have some time to try it out, or maybe even get the Lovely ladies of VShojo and HoloLive-EN, maybe Nux Taku (if he actually hasn't been "Cancelled" already), and/or Annytf (and really make Iron Mouse's day), or even Merry/MerryweatherComics and Lumi/Lumituber and let them in on the fun. A Joint Op with SorensiC SteeL and his fellow troops in the 101st Airborne division, Grand Army of the Republic would make it pretty interesting as well.
I will just sum this up by saying that this mod/server has so much potential for the Vietnam war period, all it needs are just a few of the Ships, Armor and Aircraft from the period, or maybe a few more of them that is, to fully round things out. That way, players can do Dogfights, Provide Off-shore Fire Support, Carrier Based Air Support, or even Patrol the Mekong River Delta as the Brown Water Navy or conduct "Sea Dragon" Operations for the troops advancing up along the coast.

He did word what was friendly weird. I get you can confuse order no matter how they are worded but I never heard a call out friendly position worded like that. But that happens at some point no matter what. Our Cadian Air Assault unit had our fly boys accidently drop a cluster bomb on our OP minimum casualties from the bomb luckily due to trenches were where holding but lots after due to the UXO everywhere. I love Arma.

It still a lil buggy but its a blast to play anyway like skyrim bugs i was carrying cargo when the huey did 2 back flips than ended up in stable flight
