Direct fire, stop and dismount, the textures... it's really familiar. Some of the things like impact grenades and vz. 61 having identical firing sound when unsurpressed just feel like direct leftovers from Arma II's engine which nobody stopped to update.

I *bet* the Burst mode on artillery is intended for AI; Arma AI have defined firemodes and firerates that they use, and are hidden from players - you can notice it when the AI fires full auto bursts that are always the same length, or sometimes when you mount an MG it'll fire in bursts until you press F. The Burst mode on the arty is probably to ensure that the AI doesn't only fire singe shells at targets - they probably just didn't hide the firemode from the players (which is literally a single line in a config entry)
on the arty burst mode im not 100% but I feel like you can get a somewhat high rate of fire if you fire it straight forward(whit or whit out a incline).
there is no hidden firemodes for the just the AI, each weapon class has its own parameters such as burst length, dispersion and other multipliers which are effected externally to the config files like Ai skillset and if they are injured.
The lag you got in the pit is due to the way arma handles particle collisions for those types of rocks, basically, the rock hitboxes are so fucked that the particles have to do a bunch of collision logic at once causing a lot of slow down. You can purposefully cause it on any map by hovering a helicopter above those types of rocks so the dust kicked up by the rotors collides with the rocks.

Oh don't even remind me of the A2 AČR DLC. Hell hath no fury like a Czech kid who just realized a DLC for his favourite FPS, dedicated to his national army, sucks balls.
I remember that DLC like it was yesterday, and by god it was hell Only reason I bought this one is the m1008 cucv, which is a vehicle from the cold war that needs more representation
@@17MrLeon It really wasn't. The campaign was borderline unfinishable and generally not worth the effort, the uniforms looked worse than those the Czech forces wore in vanilla Operation Arrowhead (the weird yellow tint on desert vz95? Yuck), the rest of the scenarios was mostly a joke. I'm not saying it was absolute, complete garbage, most guns and vehicles were fun, but it was obviously the worst and least polished of the DLCs.
The review we all waited for. Map does look really good even if it has the same feel as Livonia. Hopefully the CSLA devs will react from the backlash and add obviously missing assets like attack helos, m240s and SPGs for the USA faction and fix the issues with textures and sounds. Hopefully
Nice to know: some parts of the Autobahn in old West Germany are actually designed to be a make shift runway like in the DLC, if the actual airfields would have been destroyed in the cold war gone hot scenario.
I assumed this was just gonna be one of those vids where they show a mod is alittle glitchy and has a few small issues and then blow it way out of proportion but this is fucking ridiculous
Rimmy, in case you somehow didn't knew it, DShK/ДШК has variable rate of fire. Both 600 and 1200 are options and technically you can switch between them by manually adjusting mechanism. 1200 RoF is called AA mode.
Yeah, but on a mounted platform for infantry engagement on the ground, they would be using a 600 rpm config. They only use the 1200 config on an AA platform where accuracy by volume of fire is the only viable option to hit a Fast-Mover without radar tracking.
@@tetsatou2815 Yep, make part of a larger mission or something like that. Get started to seem like the original, then open up new objectives. Something like that would've been cool.
Lol comparing RHS to the CDLCs is stupid. It’s way better to compare Iron Curtain to the SOG or the other one. RHS is SO MUCH BIGGER than any of the CDLCs. Hell, if it had a map included it would be bigger than Apex.
Also i both love and hate how it is not only the second cDLC to not feature planes (and SOG only barely dodges that bullet), but this one actually has airfields, and really neat ones at that.
**personally** Western Sahara is the best- im not a fan of jungle combat although the time era is cool- but a decent sized flat desert map with modified vanilla vehicles to the point of actually having a use and not just a reskin is so cool to me. ive spent hours in extraction with different personal challenges and when playing with people who have the CDLC it has many more options for zues (with the different vehicles) have your own opinions but its one of my favourite DLC's and its relatively cheap!
The MLRS did only have cluster rounds availiable at this time... it wasn't until later that the unitary and guided stuff was introduced. ALSO, IRL there was a significant dud rate for the individual bomblets. That was by design to create minefields as a secondary effect.... which is also why we don't use those rockets in the arsenal very often anymore... something something something warcrimes/geneva suggestions... fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/m26.htm
That "mission" Steal a car was in original Operation Flashpoint. But it was on top of loooong campaign and bunch of different missions so it was kind of nice. This is pathetic
Man, I was looking forward to this so much. ČSLA studio has been around for decades, both the Operation Flashpoint and ArmA II iterations were bloody amazing. The fact they somehow managed to make a PAID mod comparable to or even worse than these two is incredibly disappointing.
The burst fire on the mortar and howitzer is probably meant to mean MRSI (multiple rounds simultaneous impact). Basically you change the firing arc for each round, so they arrive at target the same time.
this legit gives me the same vibes as someone putting old Operation flashpoint stuff back in the game. Also, Honda goldwing have 3 reverse gears so bikes can, in fact, go back (it weights 300kg and good luck pushing it out of a garage manually otherwise)
How in the actual fuck did you end up with the Dutch Beyblade Metal Fusion theme song? It's literally the version we got in the Netherlands. How Why I'm so confused
@Rimmy: This Highway-Airstrip is no bullshit. Highways in western germany had been planned as backup-airstrips in the cold war. The Motor-Stations were planned to be turned into air-force infrastructure. You can still recognize them, driving on german highways. If there comes a very long, straight part, without central reserve between lanes and removable guardrailing and strange arrangement of the motor-stations and distributor roads, you are driving on a cold-war airstrip.
Never mind the slow hunting rifle - it's bolt-action like the .22 we use at the gun range. What *I* am remarking about, is that magical self-operating bolt action. Normally, that sort of firearm needs to be manually pulled back and pushed forth again, by hand.
This breaks my heart, I know some of the guys from the dev team from way back. Such a shame. I wanted to buy this. PS: Also the mission with the UAZ from the beginning is a callback to a simple Operation Flashpoint mission from back in the day. Still I would not count this as a scenario.
I think the nicest thing that can be said about it is "It's still not finished". I mean, this video does sum it up quite well. There are some quite decent/interesting things in here, but it's hard to see though the rushed/unfinished stuff. This was delayed as well, so christ knows what it looked like before.
Well, this is the kind of thing that needs to get out very quickly. Reviews of paid products need to go up while people are still wondering about whether to buy or not.
I remember there was a mission in Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis where you had to steal a UAZ car in a hostile village and that was it ! Glad to see games have evolved in 20 years ! :P
Bohemia (I know it's a separate team but they have to sanction it): Releases a underdeveloped and low effort cash grab product once again Me, an ArmA player of 11 years: "Wow i'm surprised" If people were less into praising Bohemia at every corner when someone talks about ArmA in general we wouldn't have such a low standard for their quality control. Seriously? Showcasing jets and then just saying "nah, its cancelled"? Bohemia got VERY lazy lately, small time EA incoming soon.
I didn't touch any of those mods as DLCs and I agree that BI is lazy. But AFAIK such sandbox for large scale PvE missions is so niche that this is literally only thing on the market...
Rimmy I hope you read this lol. So some munitions for indirect fire are rocket powered to get greater speed and range. Although they just might have messed up the sound file for the mortar.
The "dlcs" that bohemia are bringing us are litteraly just copy and paste ideas that modders have had and done since 2017... but somehow the devs have managed to cuck us with uhh less than ideal stuff thats paid for. But hey the map is pretty!
I dunno where this map is supposed to be set, but in Germany at least, Gästhauses sometimes look like that. Gästhause is kinda a weird all encompassing term. It can refer to like, a regular mom n pop restaurant or pub, a bed and breakfast, a small hotel with an attached restaurant (but you dont have to be staying there to eat there), a sort of air BNB style bed and breakfast where they're a restaurant and only got like one or two rooms to rent out, sometimes they lean more heavily towards the hotel/BNB stuff and then their restaurant just sorta has 2 or 3 things the chef feels like making that day, and sometimes its a restaurant where the family who run it also live there upstairs etc etc etc. Like, it's such a weird term, literally every gästhause is different, some lean more towards the BnB stuff, some are basically just regular restaurants. It makes a little more sense if you look back in time historically, before all these other similar concepts kinda fell under the gästhause umbrella. So you know how like, when you're playing DnD (yeah, I know, f@$%in nerdy), and ya'll are role playing in a Tavern, and a ye olde timey tavern is basically just a bar that serves some food, usually whatever the hell the tavern owner feels like making, and they also run an inn where they basically rent out the bedrooms upstairs and also, the tavern owner maybe lives in the same building? Like, that weird combination isn't just a fantasy thing, that was HISTORICALLY a real thing in Germany, and that tradition has kinda lived on today... Though I get the impression it's slowly dying off in favor of traditional british/american style pure restaurants vs BnBs. But they all end up getting called a Gästhause anyway. Point is, there's some parts of the world where you might live in your own pub, and there's some places still where pubs/restaurants have a room to rent out. So I dont really find that a weird concept. Similarly, in Japan, I've seen so many businesses have a second floor... And that second floor is just where the business owner lives.
That’s disappointing, i would have expected much better quality from a paid DLC, and it could have been really cool. The map is nice, some features are pretty neat…but overall it just flops The vehicles are fun, some of the guns are pretty alright, the scenery is nice and has neat combat possibilities But weapons not working, grenades not working correctly, sound issues and vanilla sounds, ineffective suppressors, BS scenarios, ect ruin it
Honestly, 9:30 reminds me more of that tech-aspirant from Death or Glory who strapped a flamer to her loader Sentinel; used her one 'dendrite to pull the trigger on it.
That "Find the car" is literally lifted and shifted from the first Operation Flashpoint. It was a mission to get you familiarised with the controls and so on.
quite sad, too. If I remember, it had some unique vehicles (Namely the M1IP with the 105mm gun and the OT-62/BTR-50) which are seen nowhere else, not on the workshop nor on Armaholic (at least one that actually works in Arma 3). If this was a mod I wouldn't be as sour about it, but even at on sale, it just lags behind. Even SOG at launch had mostly unique assets that were either never seen in A3 before or were in Unsung.
That DLC genuinely looks like a on the lower side effort mod, absolutely not acceptable as a paid product

Man, Czech DLCs are always bad in Arma. Anyone remember Army of the Czech Republic for Arma 2?
(Also I got this DLC for the Vehicles and the map, but that’s just me)
Oh don't even remind me of the A2 AČR DLC. Hell hath no fury like a Czech kid who just realized a DLC for his favourite FPS, dedicated to his national army, sucks balls.
I remember that DLC like it was yesterday, and by god it was hell
Only reason I bought this one is the m1008 cucv, which is a vehicle from the cold war that needs more representation
Army of czech republic was great DLC.
I'm not saying it was absolute, complete garbage, most guns and vehicles were fun, but it was obviously the worst and least polished of the DLCs.
would've been a perfect cdlc if the tanks took off when you spun them fast enough.
Lmfao
The review we all waited for. Map does look really good even if it has the same feel as Livonia. Hopefully the CSLA devs will react from the backlash and add obviously missing assets like attack helos, m240s and SPGs for the USA faction and fix the issues with textures and sounds. Hopefully
Nice to know: some parts of the Autobahn in old West Germany are actually designed to be a make shift runway like in the DLC, if the actual airfields would have been destroyed in the cold war gone hot scenario.
This is exactly what I needed right now
Imaging checking UA-cam to see your review in the first five seconds of Rimmy's video. That was daunting. Great video!
BANEBLADE
LET ME HIT
nice!
A WOODEN BANEBLADE
I assumed this was just gonna be one of those vids where they show a mod is alittle glitchy and has a few small issues and then blow it way out of proportion but this is fucking ridiculous
the sound quality is like straight out of a 2010 flash game how did they fuck up so bad lol
"moke grenade whit" - mmy Downu gam, 202
The fuck was that meant to mean?
@@funybirbman3813 Smoke Grenade White

Abandon vanilla, return to moke grenade whit
Rimmy, in case you somehow didn't knew it, DShK/ДШК has variable rate of fire. Both 600 and 1200 are options and technically you can switch between them by manually adjusting mechanism. 1200 RoF is called AA mode.
Yeah, but on a mounted platform for infantry engagement on the ground, they would be using a 600 rpm config. They only use the 1200 config on an AA platform where accuracy by volume of fire is the only viable option to hit a Fast-Mover without radar tracking.
9:12 Glad to see they added the Humvee from C&C Generals to the roster!
It honestly looks like they took a page out of EA's book and was testing our ability to just purchase crap and what our limit is.
An experiment gone wrong lol
"Steal the Jeep"
Was one of the original Operation Flashpoint standalone missions.
I would say it was included as an attempt at an homage.
Right, but then counting it as one of the 9 new scenarios is a bit disingenuous.
@@tetsatou2815 Yep, make part of a larger mission or something like that.
Get started to seem like the original, then open up new objectives.
Something like that would've been cool.
"this sounds so weird. It's like the sound of coming from inside my head"
Lmao, like the finger gun from Dead Space, just Isaac going "Pew! Bang!"
1:19 The way you say “It reminds me of Valkyria Chronicles” made me expect a fucking flashback to Nico the child crusader
Who thinks that RHS brings more to the game? :D
Because I do.
This is not about bringing more to the game. This is abiut brining CSLA
Hell yes, RHS, along side USAF, Firewall’s aircraft, and sooo much more,
Lol comparing RHS to the CDLCs is stupid. It’s way better to compare Iron Curtain to the SOG or the other one. RHS is SO MUCH BIGGER than any of the CDLCs. Hell, if it had a map included it would be bigger than Apex.
the tennis racket launcher hidden under the tank makes the quiet shoot sound make a lot of sense
stealth
Iirc, the T-72 had a manual turret, so imagine the crew cranking their hearts out to spin like that.
CRANK SLAVE, CRANK!
"I thought that Tank was decommissioned"
"It was sure its black as soot"
"Then what in the" *KABOOM*
When Rimmy is at the helm, the Speed of Truth can actually get pretty fast!
Well done helping people know just what their money may get them.
So..... Can someone explain to me how my lazy mod pack ended here as a paid DLC?
most likely because the main focus is czechslovakia, and Bohemia Int. are Czech.
When you spin the turret on a tank
"You spin me right round baby right round"
That "mission" Steal a car was in original Operation Flashpoint. But it was on top of loooong campaign and bunch of different missions so it was kind of nice. This is pathetic
Man, I was looking forward to this so much. ČSLA studio has been around for decades, both the Operation Flashpoint and ArmA II iterations were bloody amazing. The fact they somehow managed to make a PAID mod comparable to or even worse than these two is incredibly disappointing.
Hey Rimmy, I was curious: did you ever end up using the music from Wasteland 3 in one of your Arma operations?
The burst fire on the mortar and howitzer is probably meant to mean MRSI (multiple rounds simultaneous impact). Basically you change the firing arc for each round, so they arrive at target the same time.
I don't think, because MRSI wasn't a thing in the 80's where the DLC is settled
It isn't. Its likely just an AI firemode they forgot to disable.
*makes a low grade mod*
"I am going to sell this!"
This is why I didn’t want to buy it. I was fucking POSITIVE they wouldn’t include the jets.
this legit gives me the same vibes as someone putting old Operation flashpoint stuff back in the game. Also, Honda goldwing have 3 reverse gears so bikes can, in fact, go back (it weights 300kg and good luck pushing it out of a garage manually otherwise)
Wait, you have trouble pushing something that rolls?
@@brandondavis7777 The crawlers that weigh thousands of tons and carry spacecraft to their launch sites roll.
Do you have trouble pushing those?
When a modmaker is artistically gifted but not necessarily technologically gifted
'Find a car' is the first mission in the first arma
How in the actual fuck did you end up with the Dutch Beyblade Metal Fusion theme song? It's literally the version we got in the Netherlands.
How
Why
I'm so confused
What sucks is that CSLA was extremely good on Arma 2 and OFP. I was genuinely looking forward to their release for Arma 3
Indeed. Since OFP it was one of the "must have" mods.
"Getting bullied by anime girls" and then there's just zoran just chillin
Rimmy getting lovey-dovey by anime girls can make him stick with CDawgVA and Gigguk as being "Vtuber Magnets"
Botan collab when?
@Rimmy: This Highway-Airstrip is no bullshit. Highways in western germany had been planned as backup-airstrips in the cold war. The Motor-Stations were planned to be turned into air-force infrastructure. You can still recognize them, driving on german highways. If there comes a very long, straight part, without central reserve between lanes and removable guardrailing and strange arrangement of the motor-stations and distributor roads, you are driving on a cold-war airstrip.
I'm convinced the creators of the CSLA DLC just tried to break ArmA as much as possible
Never mind the slow hunting rifle - it's bolt-action like the .22 we use at the gun range. What *I* am remarking about, is that magical self-operating bolt action. Normally, that sort of firearm needs to be manually pulled back and pushed forth again, by hand.
The runway-stip looks awfully like the World in Conflict map for the last russian map
This breaks my heart, I know some of the guys from the dev team from way back. Such a shame. I wanted to buy this.
PS: Also the mission with the UAZ from the beginning is a callback to a simple Operation Flashpoint mission from back in the day. Still I would not count this as a scenario.
Basically, the new tanks were made from the creator of the Helicopter-Tank gif
I think the nicest thing that can be said about it is "It's still not finished".
I mean, this video does sum it up quite well. There are some quite decent/interesting things in here, but it's hard to see though the rushed/unfinished stuff.
This was delayed as well, so christ knows what it looked like before.
Rimmy do you have a life? I watched this live not even 6 hours ago
Do you mean is he a good content creator? If so then yes
Lmao
Well, this is the kind of thing that needs to get out very quickly. Reviews of paid products need to go up while people are still wondering about whether to buy or not.
1:35 I think TB is speaking through you Rimmy. You almost nail the voice.. I was literally expecting a menu critique.
Holy fuck I miss that guy..
I am praying to the tomboys that your video will get them to take the dlc down and fix it.
I remember there was a mission in Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis where you had to steal a UAZ car in a hostile village and that was it ! Glad to see games have evolved in 20 years ! :P
Bohemia (I know it's a separate team but they have to sanction it): Releases a underdeveloped and low effort cash grab product once again
Me, an ArmA player of 11 years: "Wow i'm surprised"
If people were less into praising Bohemia at every corner when someone talks about ArmA in general we wouldn't have such a low standard for their quality control.
Well, tbf, this DLC is made "somebody else".
This DLC is made by the modders.
The map is nice, some features are pretty neat…but overall it just flops
The vehicles are fun, some of the guns are pretty alright, the scenery is nice and has neat combat possibilities
But weapons not working, grenades not working correctly, sound issues and vanilla sounds, ineffective suppressors, BS scenarios, ect ruin it
That intro is amazing. Perfection, even.
2:47 werfengenkgeregedengangles
Honestly, 9:30 reminds me more of that tech-aspirant from Death or Glory who strapped a flamer to her loader Sentinel; used her one 'dendrite to pull the trigger on it.
Bloody unacceptable that BIS would charge money for this.
9:04 ears shattered
7:00 TANKS RIMMY!!! THE COLD WAR WAS ALL ABOUT TANKS!
That "Find the car" is literally lifted and shifted from the first Operation Flashpoint. It was a mission to get you familiarised with the controls and so on.
That’s such a shame, it’s so disappointing when developers make quick cash grab dlc
Doesn't seem like a "quick" cash grab, this shit was under develoment for a lot of time and got delayed several times.
@@augustokonrad3572 oh dear, that must be frustrating for the community
quite sad, too.
