This was very helpful, I’m looking to build a more serious race sim mainly for drifting and I’m not a fan of the Logitech shifter and higher end shifters and get expensive. This looks very upgradable too.
The only reason to use a Logitech shifter is because it came with a Logitech wheel but you wouldn't buy a Logitech wheel for drifting anyway. This one looks better than the Thrustmaster shifter. Not as good as Fanatec shifter but for the money it seems to be a solid choice.
It sucks tbh. I end up returning it. shifting to 3rd and 4th gear sucked since the shaft is misaligned. You will hit the gates when shifting. I stuck with this and modded.
I’m loving this shifter. It delivers good quality while not breaking your wallet like the TH8A, or most other shifters on the market. Does this one have sequential shifting mode tho? I’m trying some rally games out, so figured having one should be nice.
Yes and no. You can order it with a piec e that you attach to the metal shifter stick itself that slots sinde what would be 3rd and 4th gear, preventing it from exiting those slots as well as not enabling it to move past the inner ball bearings. This makes it autocenter and only move slightly back and forth, giving you an effective sequential. It works really well with this simple piece installed.
I have one. I liked it until it fell apart on me. I had two problems: -the mini USB that plugs into the arduino comes unplugged every now and again -the screws that hold the bottom of the shifter to the side casing are cheap flimsy screws, so one snapped when I tried to remove it and 2 more snapped after about 7 months of use. All the mechanisms still work, it's just the casing popped off. I have it held together with a bunch of duct tape. It'll do until I can get a nicer one, I suppose. Maybe I got unlucky.
Thanks for the insight! I haven’t had any problems with the USB and I used my own mounting bolts. I’ll definitely keep an eye out for how it progresses with use though. Also, I’m thinking of giving away an H-pattern shifter so stay tuned for that 👀
regarding the mini usb connection, the one i have with me is hot-glued. I havent had any problems with screws as i mount them to my aluminum rig. The screws of the whole thing are just small allen head screws though, easily replaceable. In my mind, the only problem with these cheap shifters is that the buttons are connected with a usb encoder (maybe only on mine that comes from AliExpress). So since I built my own DIY handbrake with a similar usb encoder (supporting 12 buttons and some joysticks), my computer detects my shifter with the name "usb controller" but also my handbrake with exactly the same name... So if I connect my handbrake button on the wrong input, I brake and the 6th gear is engaged at the same time... So I lost 8 inputs on my 2nd usb encoder and I can't make the button box I originally wanted.

I would make good use of a wheel 😢🎉 nice video man keep it up always fun to watch
I'm all entered :) I would love having that wheel! I'm just starting out in my racing sim journey
What are my options on Ps5. I know the thurstmaster but are there any budget shifters for console?
Honestly this looks promising might have to upgrade from my Logitech shifter.
im very new to sim racing and on a tight budget too, i wanted to know if this works with any wheel or does it only work for the wheels it says in the aliexpress page, i noticed that its a usb shifter so im guessing it should work with anything
It's for PC only. So it'll work with any wheel that you want as long as they both plug into a PC.
i bought one like that seconf hand but new, i can't manage to make it work on windows 11 on AC any help ? my pc dosen't seem to recognise it
Does it work with all Moza wheel bases?
On PC, yes. On Console, no.
On aliexpress it costs about $60
True, but you also run a 50% chance it won’t arrive lol 😆
At least from my experience…
@@OCRacing I got mine on ali express and it come pretty quick with no issues at all
i got it about 5 months ago and it still works like a charm
@@OCRacing it was originally sold on aliexpress and I also got mine from there
Fingers crossed. Nice review.
Best of luck and thanks for watching! :)
man i would love to see the reviewon the new 6s sigma cockpit!
Sooner than you think!
Moza would be amazing!
I think the noise makes it better
This seems much better than the TH8A.
I really hope I’ll win that rim, I’ll finally decorate my wall and dream of buying the wheelbase to improve my mediocre sim rig with this hanging trophy :D
That shifter was surprising to say the least!
I use this shifter it's great!
The noise doesn't bother me at all, I'm interested in get one
Hello viewers :) I just bought Thrustmaster 300 RS gt and I would like to know whether I can use Logitech shifter with Thrustmaster? Thank you.
I’m seeing this shifter on Ebay for less than $40 now
I’ve been sim racing for awhile and I’m looking into getting one of these but now I’m thinking maybe you can save me a few bucks 😂
😳
I didn't find one with a clamp on Amazon ;(
I just got it too!
does the shifter still work? im planning to buy one to use for long-term
U should do a three way comparison between this and the other 2 shifters at the price point
Coming sooner than you think!
Hey OC, got a question. I’m looking for a new shifter since my Logitech shifter broke so would you recommend thrustmaster or fanatec, thanks!
If you’re only looking for either one of those, the Fanatec one is far superior. I got mine yesterday and have been enjoying it quite a bit.
I just saw this video, is there a specific brand I need to look out for? I've seen multiple of the same shifter going for different prices online and kinda sketched out if I might be looking at a shotty quality one. Anyone could let me know, your help is appreciated.
Can you plug this shifter into the front PC usb ports?
Yes
It kinda looks like the shh shifter good vid oc!
Maybe a little? Though this one is built w a metal casing instead of plastic.
@@OCRacing is the shh shifter a little smaller?
@@Team_SpaceX I believe so.
Just got my new moza r9 i would like to have the cs wheel🤩
Love that weel
a great review!
My guy I swear I just looked and you had like 30k subs yesterday, and like 12k a few weeks ago it feels like. Keep up the great work! Do you have an iracing referral email?
Yeah, the algorithm has been on my side recently 😅
This is my iRacing referral: www.iracing.com/membership/?refid=810561
@@OCRacing Hope to see more! Also do you think adding some sort of thin padding on the shifter plate here might help with sound? I can't be banging gears too loud if my kids are sleeping in the next room over lol. (Just signed up too with your link, hopefully this content creator thing is something you wanna do full-time! lol)
