I got this shifter to race rally cars. Its mounted with the cheapest mount for a 8020 rig. Its rock solid no flex at all. I love this shifter.
Good to know! Thanks for the comment :)
Did you build the 8020 rig? I'm debating on building one or buying one.. I just don't want to spend $600-$700 USD on it if I can build one for a lot less
@@Chill_Please I built my 8020 rig myself and honestly the price saving wasn't as much as i was expecting. The aluminium isn't too expensive, roughly half the cost of a pre-built rig, but you need so many brackets and bolts that the cost saving disappears quick. I think i saved roughly 100 vs a similar pre-built but with a custom you don't get things like wheel decks or pedal plates so depending on what you need to mount to it you may need to spend more on those add-ons. There's some pretty affordable options for pre-builts these days so if you can find one from a seller that won't be crazy on shipping i'd recommend that but your mileage may vary.
@@Chill_Please Look at the Advanced Racing ASR1, starts at $430CAD and free shipping within North America. I just built mine and so far no flex or issues.
0:25 that scene, with the music, lighting, everything, was FIRE
🤝
@@OCRacing what is the song?
@@luuify Vallie Mode
I thought the music was awful, personally. Worst part of his vids.
Currently waiting for my order. But just wanted to say that the dude who runs the company is amazing. He responded personally to all my weird email questions (was trying a hacky DIY mount that didn't work) and he even sent me pictures of his own setup with very helpful tips. He really knows his craft!
Based on the customer experience alone, I would highly recommend it!
Edit: after owning it for a couple of months and using it around 10 hours or so, I can say it does indeed feel quite decent and while I do still miss shift sometimes, it is becoming more and more rare with time.
As a dude who 3d prints himself i can assure you, that you can beat the shit out of quality 3d prints without hesitation xD
Good to know. mine just shipped. NO HESI
I been rocking one of these for a couple of years and it’s never missed a beat and I am still impressed by it and apart from adding some beefier metal shifter knobs from eBay it’s been left as stock and now it’s mounted properly to my Sim Labs rig it’s as stable as the Fanatec shifter I had before, just quieter which pleases my wife with no more metal clunking at night 👍
@Nick Spiker sorry mate double checked the items I brought and they are no longer available but they were just universal metal gear knobs so shouldn’t be to hard to find with a quick search.
if u still use it is it still good now?
Got mine today. Installed it and played all through the night 🤣 I love it! Takes getting used to to not shift past the 5-6 path, but after that it's perfect and a super upgrade to my sim setup!
one of the best shifters. Thanks! i love the fast switch to sequential mode. the manufacturer is totally transparent and very nice.
I recently got mine about a week ago and so far it’s superb! It stays mounted very firmly on my table and is plug and play though it takes a month to arrive, it’s really worth it
I quite like the idea of supporting small business that is making strides to engineer reliable product at affordable prices. I’m ok with the long ship to the US for that. Especially since it’s not a Chinese clone
is this their newt shifter?
how is it now is it still good?
That intro b-roll was cleaaaan
Glad you think so! Cheers :)
As I've got this exact shifter for about 1.5 hear right now and after literally abusing it for hours, cutting aluminium rod with grinder to put ford gearknob on it and twice per year blowing compressed air inside just to get rid of excess dust I can tell that it is really awesome shifter, nothing broke, everything is still working exactly as it should with no problem at all. Longetivity and sturdiness of it is really great and I cannot recommend it enough, specially for this price. Mounting thing that you're using on video must be really weak, I've chose another which is still rock solid. I had a few mates to play on a whole rig in VR and they really weren't carefull with it. Ebay handbrake that I had at that time literally broke off aluminium frame, but shifter is still in tact.
Had this shifter close to a year before getting the fanatec clubsport shifter. And for the money the shh shifter is great! The build quality is good. No issues in the time i used it. The shifter did lack a mechanical fell and sound that you get from the fanatec. Only had issues getting into 6th gear as the spring would force it into 4th unless i shifted fast. Over for the 145 i paid shipped to the US . The shifter is awesome for the money
I agree on the issue of the spring. It provides a feeling that is not like a real life shifter.
Overall I’m pretty happy with it though. Pretty good pricing.
Yeah 5th and 6th gear are the weakpoint, I pretty much only get misshifts there.
Anywhere else it rocks, I still remember my first test drive with it.
I took the Ferrari 330P4 around Rouen les Essarts with it, one mishift in the first lap and smooth sailing from then on.
I had struggled so much with the Logitech G27 shifter and with the SHH it became easy and fun to shift.
Friend said the same about it when he tested it he plays a lot of ETS2 and said he might just use the manual shiftong in it again as the SHH made it fun again.
Half a year after, and after three quarters of a year I feel confident enough to drive a 911 RSR (1973) around Bathurst, in a race fully manual without autoclutch or autoblip.
This shifter has transformed shifting for me.
I also accidently dropoed it from around 50cm ( 1'+2/3 of a foot) and no damage, so it's tougher than it looks.
I dont care about cost, does the fanatec has a better feeling?
@@TheCameltotem overall it does. Has more of a mechanical clunk when shifting. Sequential is decent as well. If youre not running a fanatec set you might wanna look in the vnm shifter. Also has h patter and Sequential. Hear its a bit better. Haven't used it myself tho
@@adriancuevas1587 Thanks!
I bought the older version back in 2017. It lasted about 3 years. They didn't have the sensors they have now so the switches for each gear started wearing down. Finally my PC just stopped recognising it. But i got so many hours out of it. I think i'll have to order this version again. I love the option of sequential or H pattern depending on the car
You could make your own boot to slip over the shifter shaft, that should keep dust and debris out of it.
Thank you for covering this. I've been looking for a sequential shifter. The included paddles on the g923 is getting difficult to use while doing rally cross.
And thank you for watching :)
@@OCRacing Do you prefer this shifter over the modded Logitech shifter when in H pattern mode?
@@Skippernomnomnom definitely, i have been using one for a couple of months now and the logitech shifter just doesnt compare
I had the Thrustmaster and two Fanatec shifters. Both Fanatecs failed and one of them failed twice. Since I drive H pattern cars 90% of the time I got the Pro Sim H pattern. It’s a fantastic shifter of course but I’d still like to see some innovation in H pattern shifters in sim racing.
The Moza HGP with compatible Moza pedals adds a little extra, I believe that you cannot get the gear in unless the clutch is engaged. The HGP shifter (H pattern only) is around £140, and has a very tactile and mechanical feel. There's no adjustment and Moza's software is required. I don't know anything about the required pedal set sadly.
Mine is expected to arrive tomorrow. Thank you for the review!
That’s exciting! Let me know your thoughts on it.
mine is 20 april
I got the lastest Newt model. I have the restistance maxed out and I HAMMER on the thing. Been fine with abusive use for 3 months so far
Thank you for bringing this to my attention. So far I only knew about shifters from Logitec and Thrustmaster.
Duddee you re a legendd i asked for a review of the shifter a while ago and you didd thankkss a lott

Glad you think so, cheers :)
I love how dramatic the intro but still nice video
😂
I have one of these. They’re nice, especially for the price.
Agreed! Thanks for watching :)
Keep in mind! They are manufactured after order by a small company in Spain. Delivery time for me was 3 months long.
Not true,one month for me.

We are constantly improving the production and we have reduced the waiting time. We apologize for the long wait. Right now is quite short.
probably depends on your region, im from Lithuania and the shifter came in ~3 weeks time, well packaged and in good shape :)
@@h1tzzYT I mean I live in Sweden so there should not be such a difference. I ordered mine in may last year, it shipped in July and I got it in August.
i've been using my shh newt shifter for probably two years now. Before getting this i was really torn on getting th8 or this one, but im really happy i got this one (its also nice to support small independent companies) Still going strong though after a little bit of use when im at neutral and if i wiggle the lever to the sides it started making some clicking noises but its really non issue and the shifter works the same as new. My model has 3d printed knobs unlike in this video and most likely different metal shaft. It is excellent "budget" shifter, sure its not made like fanatec clubsport shifter but its more than enough for majority of people. If you have full dedicated profile rig and at least fanatec csl+ gear then you might want to step up to fanatec clubsport shifter otherwise skip thurstmaster th8 or logitech one and get this one.
Thanks for your thoughts. We have improved precisely those points, it will be great to hear if they are really better after 2 years.
@@shhsimulation Glad to see you guys are active here :) The clicking sound is really non issue for me but its nice to hear that you were aware of that and addressed it. Very good product for a good price 👍
I also was a lot happier to support small business then one of the many Chinese knock off clone shifter
One of the best
thank you for this video being broke isn’t great when you want quality sim products
Lol
Yeah I get that. I’m really trying to make videos on items of all price ranges.
first of all, nice editing. and nice video

Good to see you breaking with your right foot in this vid😂
That looks like a new set of pedals, a new wheel rim, and a new wheel base?
👀🤫
I have one and it is a great piece of kit
Good to hear!
Good video 👍 you have done it again 👍
Cheers mate 🙏
You'd mentioned a problem with longer term debris accumulation inside the shifter. Which made me wonder if the installation of a shift boot might accomplish two things. First, it would keep the dirt out of the inside of the shifter itself, and secondly, for many cars it would be a more realistic look and feel as gated shifters are kind of a niche thing specific to certain markets. I was looking for something closer to what I actually drive in the summer... which is a non gated six speed MT with reverse to the left. No paddles... I save those for boating. So now I just need to figure out a sturdier mounting solution, and get rid of the dildo shift handle for a rounded knob style. 🙂
So if I already have the th8 shifter… would you recommend “upgrading” to this shifter?
I’d buy it good vid oc!
Can you maybe make a review about the drive hub? You can, using this thing, use steering wheels, pedals and wheelbase's on ps4 that are normally not ps4 compatible.
Great videos!! Keep on going!
Interesting- I’d have to take a look at it
Yep, I am still using my old G25 with Cronusmax adapter, and it works great. Too bad, Gt7 ff is inferior to Gt sport. I hope for some update.
YES finally thank you
Hope you enjoyed 👍
I realise a pattern I love watching videos of stuff I can’t afford
It is what it is 😂
Hey oc i know this is a weird question but if you get the tm racing clamp can you bolt it on to the next level racing gt lite shifter plate. I kinda need to be creative on where to put my handbrake and shifter. Hope you can get to 100 k
Uhh…. Not sure how that would work but if you let me know how it goes, that’ll be useful 😅
There's enough room for both the shifter and e brake. I was pleasantly surprised how well it actually works. I just use one corner of the e brake to mount it on to one of the holes on the shifter plate. That was strong enough to hold that in place. Plenty of room for both shifting and using the e brake. I used a block of wood to help with the mounting for the SHH shifter.
Are there any Shifters you can use with the Logitech G29 on PS4 besides the cheap Logitech shifter that don't cost like 300€?
How would you compare this to an aliexpress/amazon shifter?
would this be a good combo for thrustmaster wheels and could I clamp this on my desk?
Oc, I have some questions s
Th8a or the one you just reviewed
And what wheel did you use for this review?
nice shifter and cammus dd.
Good day. Anyone know how this shifter working? In my computer isnt detected when Is plugged in.. In games nothing happened too...Without reaction. Thanks
Hey Oc, just wondering what is this "Cammus" base and wheel, and if there will be a review on it :)
Thx for the video
Thanks for watching 🤠
What wheel base are you using in this video?? doesnt look like anything i have seen
why is this shifter not on every mid range setup? it seems like a fanatec little brother.
Nice shifter
im lookin around for a mid range hand brake. something more than the ebay one we all know and kind of hate and is my current one and something much less than the thrustmaster handbrake shifter even though that might be a good brake and shifter but hot damn its expensive especially in my strayan dollaroos. been drifting in ac and dirt 2 primarily some a handbrake that has decent length. the fanatec one seems to have issues with the pivot point. saw the akari akagi? not sure what its called but seems too short soooooooooooooooooo any recommends
I might actually get one of these
I wanna make eother a floor shifter like in pickups, or a shifter like in an early 2000s mistang
Is there a table clamp for this shifter or is it rig only?
Also can you divide your video into subsections because it is much more convenient to navigate?
I know I've said this already but you voice is so soooooooothing :)
There are several ways to mount the shifter and one of them is the clamp for tables.
I see you are using the CAMMUS wheel base and wheel.
planning any review on these?
thanks.
Yup, just did 😅
@@OCRacing saw it,
Thank you
Please do some review for affordable handbrake, the Sparco thrustmaster handbrake is almost the same ammount of price in Indonesia
Are you going to review the AliexPress shifter?

Hey. Did it arrive? How is it. Planning to buy one.
@@butterr8037 nice!.. would buy it 100%
How do you think this compares to the Logitech shifter?
Exponentially better
Saw a Cammus in the B-roll... review soon?

Tactile or Tactical feeling?
Does this work on the TM TMX on Xbox one ?
This shifter will only work on PC
That sucks do any shifters work with the TMX and Xbox other than the th8a?
unless you get a drive hub. only tm accessories will work with tm wheelbases if you need it to work with consoles
@@TheRivalryDrifting thanks for the reply this really helps😁😁👍🏻
Hello does this work with the tmx pro wheel,Thanks!
On PC, yes as it would plug in via usb to your computer.
@@OCRacing Thanks for helping!
Is there no table clamp?
Is this stand alone? Can it plug into my Xbox itself and not into a steering wheel?
It will not work on consoles.
Could I use this on PS5 if I got a Drivehub?
Is this compatible at all with an xbox because £180 is so much for a th8a
It will only work on PC.
does it work with the g923 ?
Cammus review coming up next?
Yup…
My drifter ass is actually hyped af because I drift with paddles lmao
Dang with paddles
lol i drifted with g29 paddles, it sucks that the paddles move with the wheel
Can someone help my 22 year old grandson who has autism is he can’t put in to the mode where you flick the switch and do the 90 degree thing please he just got it
already bought one, hope it wasnt the wrong decision
I think you should be happy with it :)
Can it be desk mounted
Cammus wheel review incoming?
👀🤫
Can someone confirm that I can use this on PC with the Fanatec CSL DD?
Its usb, ofc you can
Does this work with the logitech g29 wheel?
As far as I understood, this has its own USB so it's a completely separate device and should work together with literally everything.
can it be a handbrake?
How can I buy a shh shifter if I’m from USA ?

Is there another budget shifter for consoles better than the Logitech one??
if you have a logitech wheel only there shifter will work with it on consoles. unless you get a drive hub.
What are my options if i buy a drive hub?
@@kareemelzahaby2293 i dont know much about drive hub you would have to research it but i think it can make most shifters work. its 120 so after the cost of the shifter its not really budget
Yeah that's true 😂
Thanks man i appreciate it ❤️
can I use this shifter on a desk?
With the appropriate mount, yes 👍
@@OCRacing thank god
I just got one and have it desk mounted and it’s fine. I did lower the resistance so that it doesn’t shake my monitor around when I shift but I think I prefer the less resistant feel anyway as it’s more realistic to any car I’ve ever driven compared to having the resistance up really high.
The desk mount you can buy with it from SHH is nothing fancy but it’s good and it’s sturdy.
Does it work on Xbox
Does this work on Xbox with Drivehub?
Not totally sure. I would say no though.

How come no one ever tries to make the cheapest sequential shifter using arcade stick style like those on the Initial D arcade machines?
Up Down Shifters?
Everywhere I look it's H style which are meant like race cars and manuals and such, but these days modern 'street' cars have a variety of shifters like up down and such which isn't meant to be yanked quickly.
I'm talking about North American vehicles and traffic rules though, most driving sims are European and mostly German or Russian.
Or is a niche like 'Truck driving'.
Here in Canada we are having a housing shortage, car shortage, etc, and it starts to really drive a nail in the people having the wealth to experience basic luxuries like driving sims with the different devices for different prices.
No console compatibility is a huge downside. I've built an entry level sim setup for Forza on Xbox and have been looking for a better alternative to the Logitech Shifter. I guess I'll have to spring for the Thrustmaster offering 🤷
Forza is on PC tho
Just making sure cuz how you have it worded. If you get the thrustmaster shifter you also have to have a thrustmaster wheel base and Trust Master pedals to use it on xbox
@@TheRivalryDrifting Couldn't he get a drive hub?
@@Skippernomnomnom maybe just look on there website and i think you can do that. but that is an extra 120

Mate if you had an embargo on the wheel and servo you might as well blur it out, you might get a lawsuit
Things been out since last year bruv 😂
Again no console support 😫 I just don't get it, what's so bad with console that companies don't make their sim hardware compatible with PS5?
Consoles never work with small independent companies, it's a shame, but a good reason to stick to pc.
Maybe it’s a good one but for the same price if you take in consideration Amazon free shipping and sequential plate for free you can get the thrustmaster that is mostly in metal and works on pc Xbox and p5

Looks like 3d garbage to me
this current trend of making words appear as you talk is super annoying. Just talk, and leave the images of the product on screen.
I wish sim magic had a entry budget wheel bundle 🫤
3d printed... OOF
I get your point, but tooling to injection mold a plastic housing would cost a fortune. I'd pay a bit more to have a housing CNC machined out of a block of aluminum. Actually a motivated machinist with access to a milling machine could make such a housing
