  • In this video, I am opening up about my personal battle with anxiety and its unexpected impact on my vision. I hope that by sharing my journey, it will provide hope and encouragement for those experiencing similar things.
00:00 - my experience with visual symptoms
03:12 - how anxiety impacts our vision
04:21 - find the root cause of your anxiety
    05:30 - mindfulness
06:11 - inner safety is crucial
    About Me:
Hello! I first heard my tinnitus back in 2020 and it completely took over my life. I felt so hopeless, alone and terrified. I thought I would never be able to enjoy existing ever again and had to navigate many challenges to get to where I am today. I am now in a place where my tinnitus comes and goes and I can take a no-big-deal approach towards the sound through self-work and therefore I can enjoy my life again and not feel all of the difficult emotions that I once did.
I also have struggled with severe anxiety and OCD. I want to try and be a glimmer of hope for those who are struggling and especially those with tinnitus, by showing that it's possible to feel better and overcome tinnitus without pushing bullsh*t quick fixes that don't work. I want to share different practices and things that I am experimenting with in my own life that could help you on your journey. I believe that its necessary to approach healing holistically for true progress. I want to help people feel less alone in the suffering that they experience, to build a community and find more joy together in the chaos of life! You've got this. Stay hopeful.

I signed up for TRT from Treble Health at the end of November and I received my tinnitus bundle a little over a week ago. I’m on sound therapy for a week as of now, I have ear maskers that I wear daily from when I wake until I go to sleep, that’s when I remove them and put them on the charger. My Dad loaned me a book to read, that he says should help me in this journey. So, I’ll begin reading that soon. Hope you had a nice Holiday Season.

I'm an Italian guy and I apologize for my English. I always go on too long when I talk about my Visual Snow, but this time I'll limit myself to saying that I have all the same problems as you derived from Visual Snow and it's really difficult to get out of this situation. After about 2 years, together with my psychologist, we managed to understand my problem, because here in Italy no one knows he was able to tell me what problem I had.
Basically I have other problems, such as Acne (in an advanced state) since I was 11... it's difficult to live a normal life, and at 21 I really feel like a failure.
I think the translation wasn't the best, but I still wanted to participate by having my say! I will follow other videos that may be useful to me. I also forgot to mention that it is very difficult for me to study, listen for too long without getting distracted, etc.

Hi Alice, my "floaters " appeared long time before my tinnitus. I wish I'd known then, what I know now. Unfortunately, I didn't recognise I was anxious at the time and I started experiencing more symptoms. Luckily, I found you, Julian and Joye and you all have helped me so much along my healing journey. The past week has been hard, and coming closer to Christmas is a stressful time for me at work and with family responsibilities. My sleeping has worsened, my anxiety is high and I'm also experiencing dizziness. However, knowing that these are all symptoms of anxiety helps me regulate and put things into perspective. Thank you again for a great video! You are a true inspiration and a credit to our community.

Its very interesting how many symptoms overlap with VSS. Tinnitus, light senetivity, easy motion sickness, anxiety (even if we are aware of it or not), OCD tendencies, over thinkers, critical thinkers, childhood traumas, allergies (gluten, lactose, animal hair, dust, mold, ect), curious were it all connects. Gut health? Hyper sensetive nervous system? An endocrine issue? Vitamin or mineral deficiency? So many possibilities. For myself VSS has been a thing for 15+ years. At this point my brain does a pretty good job zoning it out much like tinnitus, unless I think about it.
Only ever had a hand full of floaters before though. And never after images thankfully.

    • @alicemoyle
      @alicemoyle  Місяць тому

Yes, it is very interesting. I think that there is usually a lot of overlap with these things. It certainly seems like to me that our bodies are trying to tell us something and will show many different symptoms to get our attention. I hope you are doing well!

hey guys! i’ve had VSS, afterimages, Alice in Wonderland syndrome, tinnitus, eye strain, vertigo, and many more issues for 7 years. occasional dietary sensitivities, gut imbalances, acne on and off, though all symptoms fluctuate depending on stress levels. All of my problems started with a stressful event that had lasting consequences physically/emotionally/spiritually. Anxiety and gut health are directly linked to symptoms’ fluctuation. But I think it is all due to underlying inflammation and your body’s inability to repair once stress attacks because it lacks the vitamins and minerals it needs to repair that tissue. We are all deficient in vitamins, our food is not nourishing us with the way it is grown, and body can’t produce the minerals alone. After 7 years, i really think everything is due to stress and malnutrition. I’m about to start a 90 essential mineral program, hope to see results. Stay strong everyone!!

Hello, thank you so much for your video! I had a tinnitus since 2020 and have overcome it with calming techniques. However, a couple of months ago I started to notice floaters during a stressful moment and then I got eye migraine and visual snow. I went to the eye doctor and neurologist. Nothing was found, but my neurologist really scared me. She told me that it can come from high blood pressure, which I don't have at the moment and that patients with eye migraines can have a slightly higher risk to get a stroke. Every time I am at the doctor my bp is really high and its in a normal range at home. Deep down I know that my (health) anxiety and my obsession is causing the symptoms, but the doctor scared me. Do you have any tips how to deal with health scares or if a doctor is not considering the mind/body connection? I really want to get better, but I am kind of in a limbo right now imagining the worst possible future outcome.

Thank you so much for sharing! I can totally relate to what you are saying when it comes to health scares and health anxiety. I have experienced so many scares that I can't even count them all! I am no expert, however, I would say that the mind and body connection is often overlooked and ignored. From everything that I have learned and experienced, the mind and body are completely connected and I have experienced over 100 symptoms from anxiety. Remind yourself that our anxiety can cause so many symptoms. It sounds like you have already sought medical clearance and therefore I would just be doing your best to work on mindfulness practices and being your own best friend when you feel scared. Remind yourself that our bodies do crazy things when we are anxious and many people like myself experience similar things. You've got this!

I had every single visual symptom you had when my mom and dad died and was diagnosed with vestibular migraines and put on tablets. Every time I shut my eyes in a dark room I would see camera flashes and gold swirling images so I had to sleep with the light on. I also suffer vertigo which has come back again the past few days. I am not sure if it's the cranial sacral therapy or the stress of the tinnitus. Do you still have VSS vision symptoms? I developed VSS after refractive eye surgery. I developed complications from the surgery (many of which are similar to VSS symptoms). I think maybe the anxiety I was experiencing from developing vision issues from the surgery led me to develop VSS which just made my vision worse and further fueled my anxiety. I’ve been dealing with vision issues for close to 6 years and it hasn’t gotten any easier. I just wish some of these symptoms would go away or get better.

Hey Alice, maybe i have most important message in your tinnitus/visual snow journey.
I had both and recovered from both, fully. 100%.
Many years i thought it was anxiety symptome, CFS, Fibromyalgia, whatever name we have today for feel like sh-t.
What i tried? Well, you know what internet suggest :D You have to meditate, eat strict vegan/carnivore and stay mentaly in safety place, even tho you feel scared to death, exhausted, full of frustration and milions proof a day you are sick broken piece of wreck without future :D Epic state to feel safe :D
I lost 5 years with those approaches, because root cause was trivial and obvious. My neck was dying.
Yes. My neck + kyphosis back was the problem.
Forward neck full of stiffness, cracking popping sounds, grinding. Stiff neck compress your brain stem and tons of other nerves (vagus nerve included).
My symptoms were headache, visual snow, anxiety, brainfog, dizzy, tinnitus, random muscle scramps all over my body.
I went to xray and my neck curve was lost. I had military straigh neck, almost reversed curve.
So i bought denneroll and use it 2x20minutes a day. In my country chiropractors dont know denneroll so i just bought it and use it by myself.
In two weeks i had first day after 5 years without headache and brainfog. Immediately anxiety was gone.
Since then many relapses came but time when i was symptom free were longer and longer until you forget about it for good :)
It was just broken neck. (and let be honest about yours neck and thorasic spine 0:24)
