I cant thank you enough for this meditation! I watched the video because my tinitus distracted me from working and now it is gone for the moment. My tinitus is a Long Covid symptom and appears out of nowhere every other day. I will come back to this video every time it starts to freak me out again.
Happy New Year Alice! Thank you for this video, I'd love for you to do more in the future, if you feel like it of course! This youtube channel has been slowly growing and it's been really nice to "share" our journeys. Wishing a great 2024 to everyone here, I hope we can all feel more grounded and find it easier to manage our Tinnitus! ❤ Francesco
Thank you Alice and Happy New Year. Sorry to bring a downer of a positive clip. I’m sitting here crying and have done for weeks now, unable to cope. The hissing is so piercingly loud, I tried so hard to focus on the meditation but like every minute of my day, all I do is come back to listening out for the T. I can’t seem to focus on anything else which is driving me to panicked distraction. I’m absolutely exhausted but I know it’s not going anywhere so I’ll continue to watch this video and just hope that my concentration will allow me to eventually become one with the tree and not this caged snake on my brain. Again, apologies for being a downer. I always look forward to your content. Thank you Alice. May 2024 be perhaps the year they discover a cure ♥️
What your going through is what all of us have gone through it’s a very tough part of the journey but believe me when I say bit by bit nano second by nano second you will have no respond to it you think to yourself it’s never going to happen for you but it does took me about twenty months
@@carolfawcett3586 I just hate silence yet unfortunately I live alone and no longer work so ‘silence’ is all I have which is terrifying, leaving me to solely focus on the T but as you say, everyone has these stages and they get through it. It’s only been 5 months since developing it. I just need to navigate through it, follow Alice’s advice and continue to meditate and hopefully I’ll get to that stage of acceptance. Thank you so much for. I really do appreciate your support. Happy New Year to you and your loved ones. ♥️
@@susy841 hello Sue. Yes I am although not just dogs. Sheep, goats, cows, horses, peacocks, you name it, they rescue it. Good memory xx How are you coping with the silence Sue?
I usually use your grounding video everynight before i go to sleep but will start using this instead. If i study or read in quiet is that classed as focusing on my tinnitus?. Will this stop me habituating?. Happy New Year.
Great! It will not stop you from habituating! When you are reading in silence, it is natural to hear tinnitus and to have your attention focused on it, however, the practice is about noticing the tinnitus if it's there and not worrying about it or reacting to it and focusing your attention back to the book. It's a constant practice of noticing, not reacting negatively and re-directing your focus and this eventually over time helps teach your brain to filter out the sound. It is not a quick fix or overnight.
@alicemoyle Thank you. I have tried reading with maskers but it means I am just dealing with 2 noises. I have always read in quiet and didn't to change things purely for the tinnitus.
I do too😔 I know it’s difficult. My tinnitus is so loud right now it’s actually making me nauseous. Explain me how you feel right now maybe it helps ❤️
Of course, I felt this way for some time at the beginning. However, I no longer feel this way due to tinnitus. I still have struggles like everyone else in life with multiple aspects of life which can be challenging, tinnitus is just no longer the cause of that. It is possible to get to that point, you just need to have self-belief in your ability to heal and see change. The more you focus on tinnitus and how much it is ruining your life, the more it will. I know it is much easier said than done, but you have more power and control over your experience in life than you think and the more you tell yourself that you can learn to accept the sound which over time will allow the sound to fade into the background, the faster you will see an improvement. You've got this! Don't lose hope.
I do have moments of silence, however, I learned that the more I tried to look out for tinnitus in a quiet room, the more I would hear it. In fact, many people can hear tinnitus in a quiet room if they try. Is it necessary to get to a point where you are not trying to see whether or not you hear tinnitus because this reminds the brain that the tinnitus is important to you and will create more of it thinking it's doing the right thing. It is necessary to learn to notice the tinnitus sound, not react to it negatively and re-direct your focus elsewhere and this over time will teach your brain to filter it out and let it fade more into the background.
