I was considering the next model up to get the additional blade stabilization, but I think most of the blade flex happens below the foot of the saw anyway were there cant be any support. I think usage technique can make up for most blade flex and you also have to realize that this is a fact of life with a jigsaw and use it accordingly.*

B&Q have been selling a universal jigsaw blade T101BR that has its teeth sloped in the wrong direction! So it thrusts the machine back at you. Hurt my hand. You can see a correctly designed blade in this helpful video at 0:12 - teeth orientated correctly to pull the machine to the workpiece.
Yes the blade should pull the wood towards the machine. In this way it won't bounce back towards the hand, but the top of the wood will have splinters and the bottom of the wood will be smooth.
