This was so informative. As a girlie interested in starting DIY, I’ve watched tons of videos, but I notice that the women DIYers seem to give way more detailed instructions.
Nice video for those unfamiliar with the tool. One thing to note when installing a blade into a jigsaw is to be sure the blade also aligns with the blade guide roller! Also, that blade can get really hot from the friction of cutting so caution, and gloves, are advised if the blade needs to be changed out or removed from the tool after completing a cut.
Oh, it's my best tutorial period! After watching this video, I had no other question. Am now confident to use my jigsaw. It's a 10/10 tutorial. Thank you.
I’m a tool time girl as well and Love making things, like you I have done many projects. I enjoy learning from other wood workers. I appreciate your tutorials, you do a great job explaining all aspects of the tools, and the camera loves you 😁. Continue the doing great work and tutorials.
Once again, I come to ‘Anika University’ as I’m getting ready to start using a jig saw for the first time. Have learned to use other tools because of Anika. Thanks so much!
Thank you Anika! I’ve been looking into and wondering about jig saws since last Summer! With your very descriptive video, I felt comfortable to purchase one. Please keep the videos coming! You are such an inspiration! Take good care!
Thank you for making such a nice video! Your explanations, as well as the filming, are very helpful. I appreciate that you do not assume that we know ANYTHING, yet you do not talk down to us!
This video was sooo helpful and easy to understand! I’ve been scared to use a jigsaw but this video made me feel a little less scared to try one. Thank you!
Great tutorial! Thanks. I really would like to see something about circular saw while experiencing kickbacks -- what to do, how to handle, and staying safe. Thank you.
I just got a jigsaw for xmas and have been a bit nervous about trying it. Your video was the third one I watched tonight on how to use it and the best one for making it feel way less intimidating. Thank you for this info! 😊
I’m just now getting into trying to actually learn about woodworking and DIY, as opposed to just trial and error, so I’ve watched a lot of different UA-camrs, but I really enjoy your tutorial videos the best! They are very thorough and teach you everything you need to know about the topic at hand while being concise at the same time; a great combination! It’s apparent that you are extremely knowledgeable and passionate about what you’re teaching and that really comes through in your videos 😀 Thank you for sharing!!
I am a first-time user (had used a saw decades ago!) I am also in my 60s, but I have the NEED and a strong desire to make things I want. TY TY TY TY For being very thorough, and explaining things in detail in such a way I can easily understand. I "Thought" I was fully prepared (Safety goggles, mask) but I need to go and get clamps (I knew this, but didn't) for today I am okay with the blade it came with, but I also will need in the future various types of blades. At the moment it's a shelf I am making, and redoing a bookcase. But later on, I want to do some fancier things. You have encouraged me further. SAFETY FIRST And above all! I was born with 10 fingers and plan on keeping them for the rest of my life.
Just the person I want to talk to. Also in my 60's and tired of asking my neighbour to make cuts for my projects. My small concern is the weight of the saw. Was that a factor in your choice of saw to purchase?
Thanks! I’m about to do an Ikea Billie bookshelf hack an need a saw to cut the trim pieces. This looks like a good option. Definitely looks less intimidating that other saws.
Great tutorial. Thanks for sharing. I don't use a jigsaw very often because I can't achieve good cuts with it. With your tutorial in mind I'll give it a new try.
I watched a few videos on using the jigsaw. I found your tip on using a level/guide to help cut a straight line very helpful. None of the other videos showed that.
I've watched 4 other videos, and this was the first one to clearly explain and illustrate the different types of blades and how they're different. Thanks so much!!! 😁
Thank you! I was trying to figure out how to cut down some large bits of wood that wouldn’t unscrew but save a bunch of bits for other projects. I’d never changed a jigsaw blade and this made it easier to understand
Super clear instructions Anika.yes I will get one.i wonder how you will cut a cylinderical structure made of thick cardboard. Those used to transport carpets etc.
Thank you very much! They have come a long way since I first used one it wasn't called a Jig saw 60 years ago and it didn't have all the neat features then. So Thank you for bringinf me up to date.
i have done renovation of my house few years back and i designed it on sketchup and it is how now i have developed interest in designing..... ur Diy corner bin was an excellent design it is where i started to watch ur videos if u can do this why cant i tht inspired me a lot thanks from India.......Creators inspires Followers
I bought a jigsaw in March 2023 and I am using it for the first time in October 2023. I wish I had seen this tutorial before I used it. I would surely have had my straight line cut straight. Thank you for your tutorial. Appreciate it, especially from a girl to another girl!😇
Great tutorial! Thank you . Would love to see a video on using a pneumatic grinder fit with a diamond ceramic cutting blade to cut china in half to use in mosaic work. I am intimidated by my husbands pneumatic tools but would like to be able to use them.
I had a jigsaw but got rid of it as I couldn’t use it properly after watching this tutorial I will be purchasing another and practising. Also great to see a woman knowing how to use power tools, they’re not just for men!!!!
