💬You will see in the “making of” that I eliminated a step in the process of making these videos. I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner. It saves me a ton of time. Instead of going back into the spreadsheet and punching in all the numbers, I’m just using my handwritten spreadsheet. Lol
Billy Squier is another staple in my life and he has many more hits I hope to cover. I also did not know about his blues version of this song. It’s called “Stroke Me Blues”. Good shit!
I hope you all enjoy this one and onto the next!💜
🤘☘️🚬
Thank you for the "stroke me blues" introduction! That was crazy good!
Would love to see you do one of these for Ted Nugent's "Stranglehold". If there are enough reactions to it out there to make it worth your while.
Thank you for all your time and work making these videos so an old Veteran can enjoy and reminisce. I got to see Shananna and Stepenwolf with my Dad in concert at the Puyallup fairgrounds as a teenager. Great memories
Yes MommaOG, that stroke me blues was unexpected and great🔥🤘🎶
What another banger back in the day....they played this a lot when it came out. He had a lot of bangers back than.
Another great video Momma. Thank you❤😊🎉😂
I remember this song being a roller rink favorite, during its peak
It was so creative of Billy to put the melody of The Volga Boatman as counterpoint near the end. Thanks for doing this one, WMomma.
STROKE ME! STROKE ME!!! 😂 I love the double entandra...funk tinged lesson that Billy learned all too soon on how the music industry can "stroke you" or should I say "choke" 😅Excellent choice! Haven't heard that in a loooonnnggg time!!! Bounced my head for sure . Thank you Wonderful wondrous Wondermomma ❤❤❤
Great song choice - thanks!
Instantly transported to 1981 & this is booming out at the roller rink! Im 16 again! Another ding-ding-dinger! ❤
When I used to go to the roller skating rink in the late 70’s & early 80’s this song was the SHIT!!
Billy Squire is a legend in the rap ,hip hop industry. As of 2015 he was the most heavily sampled artist used in rap / hip hop genre. In 90s and 2000s you could here him sampled in easy 40% of all music un industry
Yeah, we were all there in that first summer of MTV when they showed that famous Santa Monica concert and brought on the greatest jeans since Robert Plant. Lifelong fandom of Squier for me. RIP Chouinard. RIP Golub. Thanks #Momma!
I saw him LIVE when Def Leppard OPENED for him!!!
Great video, momma! 👍🏻
💜💫✌🏼🎵
I actually saw him in 1983 I think. A whole carload of girls went to Birmingham, AL, to see him in concert. Thank you as always!
This was my son's favorite song when he was 18 months old, he is 43 now.
Hell yeah OG! This takes me back! The first time I heard it I was 6 and I was at a skating rink in my little hometown of Sand Springs, Oklahoma called Rinky Dink! I’d skate singing along having ZERO clue what the song was about. It wasn’t til I got much older that I realized how dirty minded Billy was! I rock this album on the regular. I’ve got it on Original Press Vinyl, CD, and now iTunes. Great job as always OG!
Great compilation WonderMommaOG! Love Billy Squier’s music. Glad to see others appreciate his music, too. Thank you for choosing this song🙏❤
I saw Billy Squire open for Queen at MSG. Yes, Freddy was fire.
I had all his albums. I LOVE this guy. I'd be rocking out rattling the windows. Lol.
Billy Squire is another great classic artist. As always you're on 🔥🔥 when it comes to these mashups.
For those that know Billy Squier would rock the fuck out 🤘🏼
Yeah, I was thinking about this all morning. I'll be here...
This song instantly takes me back to a warm Canadian summer night in ‘82. A bunch of us teens piled into a car, cruising down the highway, windows down, Billy Squire blasting, and somehow the sunroof blowing right off the car. - yes please, more Billy Squire WMOG ❤🎶
Thank you WondermommaOG!! You don't know it but I'm your biggest fan! Best music compilations on UA-cam hands down
Momma
Thank you,
Thank you,
Thank you.
I needed exactly this song today. 💃🎸🥁🎹🎤🎼👏
Happy to hear that. 💜💜
This is a great tune that gets lost in the mix!
My first concert Def Leppard opened for Billy Squier!! When he took the stage everyone wanted Def Leppard back!!
Another rockin classic for a mash up Momma. Excellent work as always and thank you for making the weekend a little better.
NO big secret everybody respects MAMMA ...
Superbly done again MommaOG!! Thank you🔥🤘🎶✌
Thank You so much for sharing ❤❤ One of my favorite songs, I use it for my workout 🎵🎶❣️
Another great choice! Thank you!
Your video production value is great, and your sense of humor shows through.
Top shelf,, very smooth,,
Tnx Mommal,
Lee
This entire album is 🔥🔥🔥
This song was playing when a bunch of us we're canoeing down a river, all of us drunk and tossing one hitters to each other. Fun times
Another great job as usual, Momma 😊
Thank you WondermommaOG! ❤❤
❤❤❤❤❤❤ once again to you and everyone involved!
Outstanding as usual wm!
I just love these compilations. I just stopped the video I was watching as soon as I seen this lol. Thank you so much I love watching reactions to the amazing music I grew up with
Great choice Momma! Another banger for sure. I saw the comment about eliminating a step. If you need to keep digital records then maybe an issue later. If not great!
Top Notch work! As always! Keep it up ^^
Great choice. I've been waiting for a while for a new video ❤
❤❤Wowwww ! This is the first "compilation" I've watched.... I'm hooked ! New subscriber !!! 😁 😎❤
Thank you... welcome to the channel!
Thank you!
Can’t wait to see Close To The Edge by YES!!
How close are we…to the, nvm, lol
WMOG, I swear you're browsing MY cassette tape cases looking for your next compilation idea... 🤣🤣🤣 Another great edit!
haha I love hearing this. There are two others who have said something similar... and that is amazing to me!
In the dark is his best song
Another great video, Mama.
Another great comp. I need to get this album on vynil. Thank you
Another good one, Momma. I'd like to suggest a mashup of Dire Straits' "Sultans of Swing: Alchemy Live." It's a long video, but the reactions I have seen have been marvelous (such as Mr. Video, Bars & Barbells, PoloReacts, Airplay Beats, BroAction, MollyBoy, Nathan Brown). I know there are plenty for you to choose from and I know I'd would be an epic mashup.
Nothing beats classic rock
He is talking about his Ego being stroked, by music management and producers to get you to sign life away to them
He was great in concert
Billy Barrells approves of this :) GBO
Please do “Highway Star” by Deep Purple. Seeing all the reactions to Ritchie Blackmore's guitar solo would be awesome
That's on my list!
Billy Squire will put you Emotions in Motion... 😋
I was today years old when I discovered they're not singing "Strongest Tough Man". I will not explain further, because I have none... I've just never paid attention the lyrics before.
I saw him live when he opened for Queen on their Flash tour. Great live. Great job.
I saw that tour, too. It was extra awesome having him open for Queen. Saw them in Cleveland. You?
@@cainealexander-mccord2805 Dallas at the old Reunion Arena. Saw many great concerts there.
@@pappyschannel I lived in Irving in 1983. I remember it well. (Think Pantera as a bar band way, way before Anselmo.)
This is Billy Squires "Have a cigar"
❤
One of the most sampled artist ever with the amazing drum sounds produced by Mack, who also did his magic with Queen. If only Billy had listened to himself and not the record company and director of his video for "Rock Me Tonite", his career would have lasted a solid decade instead of being cut short.
Is that what happened? He was so popular for a while and then he was just gone.
@@unitoolzee video destroyed his career literally over night. theres an interview on you tube that he did with eddie trunk he talks about the entire thing
You should do MY WAY by FRANK SINATRA......Old School Bad Ass Song.....Sinatra had some voice.... Croonig at it's best..GOOD OL BLUE EYES
Self love is important
Definitely wanted to see the response this song got hot as hell so much so, it became uncool LOL at least in my small circle, I always liked Everybody Wants You, cause a girl I like used to sing it about herself, but In the Dark is my Billy Squier fav, he was actually a classical trained musician, and did not like the rock business at all, thus the song
I'd love to see a compilation of people realizing Def Leppard's drummer only has one arm!
😅😅👀👀Well stay tuned then! Shhhhhhh... don't tell anyone but I'm working on a DL song now!
MommaOG, you ever think of doing Sly Fox's "Let's Go All The Way"?
I loved that record.
Yeah, once you realize that it is about "stroking the ego" in the music industry, the words and impact of the song take on a WHOLE new meaning. Because you can actually see how the NEED to have that "ego stroke" continue over your career actually RUINS your career.
Yes. He had a few songs that were poking at the music industry. Everybody Wants You, Rich Kid, and one other I can’t remember. But he was a really talented guy.
Careless whisper next😂
🤣😅
You can construe it as sexual , but it's also about stroking someone's ego for their own benefit !
This s9ng al9ne has been used 64 times in hip hop industr6 , most successful from beastie boys and Eminem , beserk
Maybe it's just me, but I've always thought Patrick Stump of Fall Out Boy sounds a lot like Billy Squier.
Big Momma, do Blackthought freestyle PLEASE 🙏!
Where do you get those versions you always play at the beginning?
I just search for covers, acoustic versions, harp guitar, harp or classical versions of songs. I didn't know about Billy's blues version until a week ago!. Mad it took so long to hear that, grateful that I found it.
@@WonderMommaOG I had heard he put out an acoustic blues album. Thanks for the info
Billy Madison lol
wanna know what this really about ask ROBERT PLANT
This song is about ego, and getting it stroked so record executives can control their artists………
How could you listen to the lyrics to this song and not know that it is about greedy Hollywood sycophants?
You could be 12 & not have the lyrics right in front of you to help the interpretation. That was my case when I 1st heard it.
Does any music reaction video channel person EVERY say they don't like something? I'm not thinking of this song in particular, but I really hate that the reaction video channel content creators pretend they love EVERYTHING. I like the very, very few ones that will say they don't like something. Virgin Rock HATED Limp Bizkit. I like Limp Bizkit, but I understood why she didn't, and every much appreciated that she didn't lie. Lost in Vegas guys will say when they don't like something. But every other reaction channel I've watched, they LOVE every song, which is so obnoxious.
@@Marnee4191 I hear you. Check out RobTV. He didn’t like comfortably numb. lol. But it was the first Floyd song he ever heard. Probably not a good one to start with.
No harmonica in this song
Poor Billy Squier. Wardrobe choices and prancing on camera killed his career.
Nothing to do with sex.
I was in the Navy when this song came out, man did we have fun singing this…. Thanks mama.🤪🧐👍🫵
sounds like a dance to me.
he was blacklisted for standing up 4 himself too.
This is a great tune that gets lost in the mix!
