Grunge music should never been forgotten! It defined an era and a generation!!!
Alice in chains is a metal band tho,never were grunge.but they had friends in Seattle that were in grunge bands

Best era of music 80s and 90s
Yeah, pretty much Alice in chains, Nirvana and the duo of Pearl Jam/Sound Garden basically (I think) founded/exemplify the grunge sound - - what it IS. Sound Garden was around first, I believe.
The grunge era had some of the best voices in the business. Layne, Vedder, Cornell, Cobain...dang I miss that era.
I also love Scott’s voice from STP🤘
And Andrew Wood from Mother Love Bone as well.
Layne had some of the best if not the best vocals of the 90's, may you rest in Peace you legend.

Layne Staley definitel was one of the best rock singers ever, him and Jerry together were perfect.

No one can replicate his voice, same with Chris Cornell. You can sing the same songs but no one can do it their way

Indeed, is funny. I was looking for reactions to the uncensored version, sadly there is almost none reacting to that one. I didn't feel like putting the uncensored overlapped, made me feel like cheating, since they would probably react differently to that version.

Don't remember the year but I saw three of the big four (Megadeth, Anthrax, and Slayer) on the Monsters of Rock tour with Alice in Chains opening. They had some big balls to open up for a thrash crowd especially to promote their first record. By the end of their set everyone knew something special was happening with this band. Etched in memory!

What an undeniable talent. Layne was one of the greatest vocalists to Grace Rock ‘N Roll. Would definitely love to see more compilations of people reacting to Would, Rooster, Them Bones and Love Hate Love.
Still to this day can't believe they get lumped in with grunge just because they came out from Seattle the same time as the others. They were metal and some of the godfathers of stoner/sludge metal.
Though some great bands playing all the various forms of Rock have come on the scene since 2000, there is no denying that the late 60's thru the 90's was the greatest time to be alive for a rock n roll fan.

My favorite of the grunge era, Layne's wail is epic and gave Alice In Chains a more unique sound to me. I miss this man, tragic end to his life.

I was a rap/hip hop guy in the 90's, I learned of walk by pantera and this song here because or E.C.W, R.V.D came out to walk and I'm pretty sure Tommy Dreamer came out to man in the box, I love both of these songs and both bands have lost members. R.I.P Layne, Dime, Vinny and Mike
I have always put Layne in top ten voices of all time. He was only 23yo in this video. He graced us with so much in his short life, a horribly tragic end that should happen to no one. So many, far to many voices silent from this Era. Just damn.

Who ever creates these should do a video called “crying reactions to Laynes voice” because I have a play list of about 15 people that have cried the first time the heard layne singing! I’ll send you the playlist! I don’t know how to make videos or I would have made one a long time ago.

growing up in the 2000's I would here this all the time on the radio now 90's music only has a 1-2 hours of music time, point is this is from 1990-1992 only 3 albums. 30+ years later and nobody can do this again.

AIC sounded nothing like grunge bands, they just happened to be from Seattle. We Die Young & many other songs. The only grunge/alternative band that sounded even close to as heavy as AIC was STP with a few tunes on Core

Ok, big, big boomer reaction incoming. Dude said, "They dont make music like this any more"...i think one of the reasons is the proliferation of computers. Its so easy to make a beat, a backing track...you dont need to learn an instrument, computers got your back. Dont have to learn how to sing, autotune has got your back. I know there is some good music being made today, but its harder to find. ANYONE can post music from their bedroom. What will incentivise kids to learn to play music when their heros cant read a note? Strange, strange times were living in...
