This song is very straight to the point. It's telling people in general but specifically law enforcement to stop blindly obeying clearly racist and/or evil orders. But after COVID plandemic which was clearly a depopulation program and ALL the WORLD blindly going along with it, I don't know if people learned RATM or any lessons that the rulers HATE us and are trying to kill us.
BTW I was house mates with a black guy who got a job as a trolley security, not regular police but was trained like it. And I literally witnessed him being brainwashed in real time. He went from someone who KNEW the system was rigged against poor people and racist in enforcement to a guy that after 1 year of 'enforcement training' was telling me that black people are violent. He is BLACK and his training for black civilians as he explained it to me was identical to his training for a suspected Terrorist, no shit. And he believed it.

I cant hear this song without thinking of my friends son, Isaiah. He was a beautiful young soul that left this world way too early. He loved Rage Against the Machine. I knew him from the day he was born until the day he died at age 17 (almost 3 years ago now). He was severely autistic, loved music and art. Its funny how music can bring you to a specific time and place. I used to let him "be in charge of the music", and this is what he'd play. I miss him, the light in his soul and those big brown eyes. I love you, Isaiah...see you on the other side some day.

First time I saw RATM live, I had been a fan since middle school. In HS they played a protest show against the Iraq War in 2008 and I got on the floor (via a raffle system). When I tell you I thought I was going to die in the pits, I'm not lying. I was getting thrown around the pit by 30+ yr olds. Best show of my life.

I like the time they went on a news channel to perform this song and were asked to not swear and when the part came up he was censoring himself just saying "I won't do what you tell me" until the drop and then he just went for it and started saying "Fuck you I won't do what you tell me" live on TV. The video is on UA-cam. Its awesome.

Remember hearing this back in 92....and you realize the musicians of today are just as relevant as the poets of ancient Greece. Or the historians of Ancient Rome. Or the Griots of Africa. They tell the story of our modern society, filled in fear and hate. If you choose that. Because in the end, it is a choice. Manufactured Consent (Chomsky, Herman)....is all it is...driving a society to division, hate, war and everything that goes with it.

I truly miss those days, when concerts were cheap enough to go to 5-10 per year and not have to save to just to go to one now. Music meant so much to us back then. Wish Gen Z could see how fucked up their Generation is and pick up a guitar and express themselves.
