nice of you to deliver those F16's to the 2000 soldiers based on the falklands lol
pops the canopy to throw his helmet and cheer like Maverick only to be met with the sound of 500 guns cocking in every direction! XD
Yep.
I know it's all for fun but in all honesty this mission would have been a failure.
Not a single Argentine a/c would have survived/returned to Argentina.
@@sootyjim Correct Jim... Even something as simple as blocking the runways with service trucks and other airport vehicles... Would mean that the aircraft would never even get to land on the Falklands... They had very little fuel left at the end... And their aircraft would have simply dropped from the sky... And even if they had ejected... They would easily have been captured by the thousands of troops stationed there... Also i would have thought that any critical missile battery system... Would also have something like the Phalanx Close-In Weapons System as a backup... Simply to take out anything that may have slipped through their initial defenses... Just as an added precaution to stop the battery from being hit or destroyed... Plus there must also be other defense capabilities that are available here... That simply aren't divulged to the media or to the public.
It's about 1300 service personnel of which 120-ish are infantry with all the rest RAF support personnel.
@@clangerbasher oh yes I forgot the RAF don't use guns ....
Would have been a bit more useful if at least a couple of the Typhoons had been flown by competent humans
Competent humans aren't allowed in GR videos.
agreed, it needed pilots that more accurately represent the much better trained RAF
100%, launching at maximim range is pretty pointless when outnumbered. Also letting the En AC get closer may have been a more tactically sound option, letting them burn fuel, letting them have to contend with ground launched and air launched missles simultaniously. Also maybe not letting the humans cheat would be more realistic and challenging.
@superflyguy4488 they should try get the RAF server guys involved in these things.
But they lost ALL the F-16’s? What was the point of that?
Prediction before watching: even if the F16 mission is a complete success, the number of F16s lost will make the invasion unsustainable. You have to have enough aircraft left to defend your invasion force. King Chuckles’s boys are going to show up with F35 and paste whatever they can find.
If the Typhoons had been flown competently you would have lost even more F16s. I realize you’re making an entertaining video, but part of the problem was trying to do too much at once. You have 3 days, break the invasion into multiple missions with more limited objectives: 1. All F16s vs Typhoons, only objective is to destroy Typhoons. 2. If sufficient F16s survive to continue, supplement with remaining Fightinghawks and destroy ground targets. Hold as many F16s in reserve as possible, let Fightinghawks take losses. 3. If sufficient aircraft survive, cover landing force and provide CAS. 4. Prepare to defend against RN counterattack.
What if rn r8 goes on offensive with f35 on argy bases with apache helicopters and this time not be so forgiving😅
How many F16s have ever been shot down by other aircraft? 1.
By ground fire 5.
JSF performed poorly against Indian MIgs. Typhoons are antiques.
F16 may win 1st phase with numbers but would certainly sustain about half losses against typhoons and probably more this is without air defence and ship to air missiles plus retaliatory knock out blow by f35 on airfields from uk aircraft carrier Argentine airfields and from missile launched submarine
@@user-uy3bj9ue5c they didnt perform poorly. look into the mission and how it was set up.
Any chance of a UK group assault video with type 26 type 45 and f35 where the escorts DO fire the spear 5 missiles? Love the channel cheers🍺

IF they could take the islands (and that's a very big IF) they wouldn't be able to hold it for long when His Majesty's Navy comes back looking to settle the score.
So the Empire will strike back?
if (big if) the current gouvernment is willing and able to throw as much money at it as Thatcher was. And from what i hear, Thatcher had access to a better funded and equiped (relatively speaking) military. It being the cold war and all.
But Argentina being serial bankrupt probably would not want the likely sanctions.
@@5Andysalive i disagree, out military right know is far more powerful than it was in the 80s and these days there is a much bigger focus on air power. the navy would be able to acheive air superioty and stop any argentinain resupply by day one of them arriving. then they can use guided ordinance to destory anyting the size of a car on the island.
@@5Andysalive Our military is much more equipped than it was in the falklands war! Especially our navy.
@@freddiejohames8332plus from what I heard the defence budget is going up again to 2.5%. So it’s possible more acquisitions will be made in terms of equipment and numbers.

@@grimreapers you've not played when you had to scramble from an F16 attack. Also the Navy assets were missing. The anti Air weapon systems in game are not firing well enough.
@@gavin1506 I noticed this too, F16's fly into range of the anti air ground vehicles, but only then the AI starts to drop the outriggers before the radar can deploy, why aren't those defences already prepped to turn on at the flick of a switch? They'd have gotten alot more missles off in that time making the wild weasling much harder.
What was the point of the video when you totally hamstring the 'Phoons with duff ai piloting.?
King Charles does not approve of this video.

But let's be honest, it would be dumb to launch all your fighters knowing the RN will be along in a week to take it back again like last time

It would take a massive effort from Argentina which would cause the lose of all their equipment in the process
not if they launch a barrage of missile and the planes will no longer will have fuel or a runway, so they would have to give the malvinas back, witch they dont own

If you don’t like that you are welcome to press the “cope and seethe” button next to this comment, represented by a 👎🏻 in this instance.
Argentina has no stomach for another attempt and can less afford it financially now than in 1982. Buying some ancient F16s doesn't enable a competent Airforce over night, nor does it make it suddenly capable of combined arms warfare against a nation that has been involved in every major conflict since the 80's. The Typhoons would get high and fast, start knocking out the F16 due to a way more capable platform, the remaining F16 pilots would not hang around, the would withdraw as soon as they realised they were overmatched
It's a shame those rear couple of Typhoon's flew so weirdly. Definitely would've helped with the defence to have them all spraying Meteors out properly. Queen Liz will see that the Empire Strikes Back!

@@whiskeylima960 yeah probably. Not hard to change though.
Quality. British lose 3 Typhoons and capture several F16s 😂
YAAAS! I was so excited for this!
Sat in the falklands watching this 😅
Not sure how they could have got the planes and become remotely competent without and it be a surprise.
Even if the Argentinians had the balls to do this, they’d prolly take too many losses. And with what they have, any losses would greatly impact their ability to defend any taken territory, pretty much to the point that they wouldn’t even be able to.
As you show the Eurofighter helmet at 11:25- i think that should simulate the "Striker Helmet". With this the Pilot can -for example-give the AA Missile a target behind him. It also features HUD direct in the Helmet Visor.
The F16’s they are getting are literally ancient A/B variants
Nice setup though the Harms might stretch out the Argentinian Air Force budget... as to keeping the fact they had F-16's quiet that would be a feat all on it's own... though a good bit of plot armour for the setup... also there would be a few Starstreaks and about 1500 personnel equipped with small arms... for Argentina it would a hey we are still here but ultimately a futile gesture.
Brilliant, thanks for this!!
I love that you started integrating more tactical skills like TOT.
Nest time have humans flying the typhoons and maybe a few manpads in action
Can't wait for full modeled F-4 reenactment videos
33:30 Well, the Reds lost a $Billion in planes, missiles, and bombs. I'm certain the Argentine government thinks it was worth it. Now they have at least a few (3?) days to land troops, AA equipment, and fighters, and pacify the remainder of the British troops, before the inevitable attack comes. Maybe as much as 10-12 days.
They'll think, again, and be wrong, again that they can defend Los Malvinas from the British.
There are 2000 uk soldiers still on the falklsnds.
The "new" f16s help. But that is still too little nevermind the typhoon pilot are better and inna real fight would fare better.
@@michaeltschuertz Given they F-16 pilots would given the time line proposed would have had the airframes for lest than 2 months, I think the 'Veteran' skill level set as being optimistic.. Typhoon pilots would be 'Ace' and the F-16 pilots would be more like 'Rookie' aka 'Meteor Bait'.

one word SuperCap.... Treason!
:P Love you work
Hiccapp you know what you guys should do. You guys should have a mission in which you guys escort. A bunch of C1 30s or c 17 to capture an airbadet. You have to take out Sam batteries before they land and truck, parks and tanks And all that stuff and then land and help your troops take control and set up sams. you can do it in several different maps. I think that'd be a great idea.
Seeing those F-16 in Chilean colours, I'd love to see a video to see if the Argentinians could do a surprise attack on Chile with their new F-16s. It would be f-16 vs F-16.
I think if the 1435 had someone informing them about incoming amraams like was being told to the f16's then that would of been a different outcome.
Plus what you havnt factored in is that just prior to an amraam launch the Typhoons would have notice of an amraam launch as the tws has to briefly lock on to feed the missile accurate data.
Done 2 tours down south, and you all said the falklands were captured, Im sure the Army stationed there would carry out a defensive battle knowing reinforcements were on the way.
If a handful of Marines could hold off in Stanley and on South Georgia and carry out extensive damage, what would a fully defensive army unit be able to do :)
Nice video and gameplay but surely the biggest deterrent is Tomahawk. Submarine or ship launched can hit anything on the Argentinian mainland?
Oh wow i was going to suggest this very scenario.
Grim Reapers it would be awesome to see you guys do a recreation of the Moloch Desert mission from Ace Combat 6 inside DCS. O7 Keep up the great work.
Patented Cap "Bollocks Maneuver". It's a classic for a reason, folks.
I don't want to burst your bubble of fun, but the US has a back door off switch. So as the Argentinas approach, the RAF guy in charge will press the off button and the F-16 will shut down and fall into the ocean.
Now to land on the base you just attacked, and become prisoners of war eh? 😉
I guess they're counting on the idea that the British won't treat their temporary POWs too poorly, with the Argentine fleet on the way.
Of course, the Argentines should remember that when the British fleet comes calling, too...
British food better than Argentinian?
nice video guys as mentioned below AI doing AI things how would it work reversed 4 of GR using Typhoons but been done with different airframes so a nice twist on possible events. Yes Dads army greeting them with tea and pitchforks, although I would imagine a recon force would already be wheels up from somewhere close cant remeber the fleets TOT but a few pilots against E squad wouldnt end well.
The Typhoons in the Falklands are superior in every where over the old F-16As that Argentina are getting and with meteor they are fish in a barrel
I'm not sure IF (in reality) those Typhoons are armed to Meteor missiles and even if they technically are, how many of them are in inventory i.e. ready to be used.
So the main reason why the deal was brokered for the F-16s was to keep Argentina from buying the even more advanced and better equipped JF-17 Block IIIs, same as are building for Pakistan. Now the proposal for that I believe was for a dozen JF-17s with weapons and spares for about twice as much as the deal is for the 24 used F-16AM/BMs from Denmark, but would have gotten them access to much longer ranged weapons than the USA is likely going to allow Argentina to have as part of the deal with Denmark. Also part of the trade deal with the USA saw Argentina transfer its two operational Mi-17E helicopters to Ukraine. Another thing is Denmark doesn't employ the sniper targeting pods, and they're not actually providing any weapons with the deal from their stocks because they're keeping them to use with their F-35s. Same goes with the ones being donated to Ukraine. The weapons will need to come from someone elses stocks (probably the USA). Denmark has long had a policy of re-using equipment from earlier aircraft and or ships. The weapon systems for the danish navy's three air defense frigates were largely recycled from the ships they replace. And in spite of being fitted with 32 cell Mk41 VLS systems each, the cells are empty because they've not bought any SM-2 Block IIIAs to actually put in them. Their only air defense missiles are 24 ESSMs in 12 Mk 56 VLS cells. The ships have space for another 12 Mk56 cells or another 8 Harpoon II launchers but have neither actually fitted. Folks complain about Canada's defense spending (as a percentage of GDP) but its way better than Denmark's. At least our navy buys the actual missiles for the VLS cells.
Anyway you should try re-doing this fight with the JF-17s Block 3s, which would have the PL-15E BVR missiles as an option, . You could also add the 6 A-4Rs that are still reported to be operational and some of the IA 63 Pampa IIIs. The PL-15E's 145km range isn't as good as the Meteor but its still better than the 105 kms of the AIM-120C you used in this video. In addition the Argentine AF has a pair of KC-130Hs they acquired from the USA and the A-4Rs and Pampa IIIs are equipped for refueling from them which would extend their range (the F-16s are not being equipped with the Conformal tanks with the refueling probe that Lockheed developed for the proposed F-16IN Block 70s as far as I know, but hey, it MIGHT be a possibility to add to another test).
Scoreboard did not seem to reflect the loss of missiles on planes that are shot down. Also, in terms of tactics, would it not have been better to have some air-to-air F-16's get the Eurofighters to take off and use fuel and missiles, and the F-16's run away without engaging. Follow-up F-16's destroy Eurofighters on the ground?
Yeh had a few scoreboards problems with this one.
Is anybody else thinking some S2A weapon systems have been under performing of late, Patriot and NASSAMS specifically. When i say under performing i probably mean more realistically like the operators are asleep, it used to be that NASSAMS had a 100% hit rate, much like TOR and Pantsir.
Yup, SAMs completely changed lately in game.
Nice finale.I laughed.

Fantastic video and let me tell you the Argentine Airforce will have already simulated this. I live in Argentina and know a guy who used to be in the Argentine airforce. We once spoke about the war and he said you know one day will will take it back again and the airforce will be at the front of the battle. He wasnt joking either.
That's nice. What do you intend to do with the Islanders then? You know, the ones who actually LIVE there and want precisely nothing to do with being part of Argentina?
You going to 'ethnically cleanse' them? Because that's essentially what you will have to do....
Its the thing all the Argentinians seem to like to forget, the simple little fact that those people were there before Argentina was a Country and they happen to have their OWN ideas what should happen to THEIR Islands...
You should have told the guy to NOT 'do drugs'...the only way that the borderline 3rd world country of Argentina will ever gain control of the Falklands would be if we GIVE them to Argentina and given that the last time the people living there voted on the matter, only 1 person voted for Argentinian control of the islands, it doesn't seem very likely does it?
Meteor is a great missile
Bit pricy though!
They would also lose the planes that landed ....
Yep. Chances are ground crew are going to paint roundels on them, and spare pilots are going to use them to harrass or observe the approaching argentine forces.
ASRAAM is the funniest name for a heat-seeking missile.
mmmmh like in the battle for the malvinas, the pilots of the mirages and a4 would refuel mid air after and before entering the battle, I'm sure this would be very helpful for using full afterburner more, and evade more missiles.

Hope Denmark insisted on payment up front before delivery.....
Now we need a follow up with QE and the 35s teaching the Last four F-16s plus humans a lesson in British manners 😈🇬🇧
Typhoons would never have scrambled that early
the reason why a general would not send s a strike group in that manner they would instead attack using long range missile and the the aircrafts
I feel watching this, it showed that it can’t be done. A lot of f16s went home because of fuel and if you weren’t landing on the island to be captured by the uk ground forces that are there, you wouldn’t have had the fuel to get home. No ground troops got to the island so it wasn’t “taken” you showed you could knock out the air defences but at a cost of the entire flight of half of the f16s.
Yeah, nope. You’ve over simplified the defences. It would be an act of desperation for Argentina to throw away their resources like that. . . Again.
..but can you do it with F-86 Sabres?
In reality, Mount Pleasant would be reinforced very quickly with Typhoons and F35.
Pretty sure there’s still a rapier battery and 3 batteries/ 6 launchers of Starstreak on the Falklands too.
I'm just going to assume that you don't bother to watch The Briefing or you did watch The Briefing in your unable to comprehend?
@@Wyomingchief: yes I did. And as someone who was ON THE FALKLANDS 3 months ago. It’s not accurate. Hence why I commented you fucking throbber.
The comment on landing on an undefended airfield at mount pleasant would be fucking impossible with the Garrison on the island. Even flying over the island below 10,000ft Because again. There’s reserve equipment for said strike.
It’s assumed any battle on the island starts with denial of air defence and the sky sabres radars are nullified.
@@Wyomingchief I was there 3 months ago. You’re not worth a longer reply
@@jugganaut33 Obviously not, Rapier was removed ages ago. Sky Sabre has been there quite a while, of which there are 4 launchers on the island with a royal artillery company.
i want to see a continuation of this where you use 'navalised' typhoons (this is something that was considered in real life), to see if British forces could take the Falklands back even without the help of NATO and commonwealth (again)
It was considered... Very briefly.
My brother was part of the Typhoon design team, and his words on that were simply, we would have had to rebuild most of the airframe. It was not worth doing. Especially as Britain did not have the carriers to operate them.
Still do not, but then do not need them do we? The Queen Elizabeth's can operate F-35B's perfectly fine, so why would we need navalised Typhoons?
They would last 2 seconds against typhoons
In reality of course the Typhoons engage 200 miles west of the islands, because they knew the attack was coming five minutes after someone near Rio Gallegas picked up the phone and warned that all Argentina's F-16s just took off and headed out to sea. If any F-16s do survive and try to land, they're destroyed on the runway by GPMG fire.
Just curious does everybody skip the mission briefing? Cuz I really feel like I'm the only one that does watch it. I see at least five or six comments complaining that the AIM9X it's supposed to be on the aircraft when it is on the aircraft.😂
Then people flapping their gums about the sky saber, but yet it's explained pretty clearly but apparently people don't understand English

DCS fix your flippin AI!
Teach it some damn basic BVR skills not just dogfight
the typhoon is a mod and mods tend to develop issues over time. Mods are community made and tend to have to react to DCS updates that might affect the logic. this is why core game tends to have less issues. any issues are usually caught by a testing group before updates go public where as the mod community has to reli on people to report it to them and then they apply fixes in their own time.
Shame the ai pilots didnt fly the typhoon properly and thought they were doing a high alpha pass at RIAT. Also a shame the sam sites werent ready to fire when they knew they were being attacked too! Anyway, a loss the argy air force to invade for a couple of weeks again
The 307th and 2nd bomber wing out of Barksdale would be there in 12 hours. That’s about 48 B-52’s with all kinds of stand off ASU and ground munitions. Can’t even calculate how much that would be. Then the Bones, then another two groups of 52’s. That would be terrible for Argentina. The UK has always had our back, NO way we ever let them fight alone again.
Sadly old Brandon and his handlers would hang us out to dry, sleepy Joe’s regime hates the west. Trump on the other hand, i can see assets being made available to give the Argentinians a big fat sloppy DP
Wouldn't call the f16 modern. If anything the 1982 airforce was closer to the generation of uk aircraft in service. If its a surprise attack the typhoons should be tranche 1 with amraam, that's what is based there. All 4 are highly unlikely to be serviceable at short notice. The garrison at the base would take exception to it being called undefended, nothing is landing there and surviving!
Old F16's 24 of ,you have not factored serviceability , you can easily say 25% will be unserviceable at any one time , same as the typhoons , highly doubt all 4 been serviceable
If I was the MOD on hearing this news of the F16 purchase , I woypuld be reassessing the defence capabilities of the islands and have a type 45 air defence destroyer permanently on station nearby one type 45 could deal with the F16's on its own in theory
Part 2 can they defend with what they have left with a landing party getting ready for queen liz to arrive ?
They'd have to defeat the 1500+ British service personnel already on the islands first!
Let's hope the RAF is better than these AI bots.
Agreed
It really makes no difference. The political and military ramifications of something like this would put Argentina back in the dark ages in no time.
Also remember just because the UK doesn't keep lots of military down there doesn't mean they don't have allies in the area.
Interesting theorising but it really would be a suicide run for Argentina.
argentina is backed by every single latin country, except chile, and dont forget ,the one selling the guns to us is your biggest ally usa,it doesnt makes a difference anyway , our constitution doesnt allow us to take them back by force, wich is pretty smart,so that way no crazy president can do what they did iin 82
If you have human pilots they need to be equal across the two sides. Human pilots are such a massive advantage.
Like every radar station wouldn't have been up after first contact. Silly.
Hey GR, port Stanley airfield has been renamed Port Argentine airfield on Google maps? Any ideas?
no it hasnt?
It’ll be Port Milei soon 😂

@@dexlab7539 apart from the fact that geopolitics is a thing
There would be about 200 manpad missiles being fired at each of the f16 aircraft whilst they were over land and about another 200 if they were stupid enough to try to land at an airfield any where on the Falkland islands and even if they did land just exactly what would 4 unarmed air men do against the entire contingent of the island and why were the land based missiles firing so slowly they would have saturated all of the air space before all of the harm missiles impacted
Could the uk benefit from a longer more dangerous Sam missile battery in this scenario & which in dcs would be best ? Patriot ?
I don't think those NASAMs were working correct TBH.
Another great "What If" mission. But you sure enjoy picking on the Falkland Island Cap! LOL! Vedio Valued by Valued Viewer - Fly Army 🚁
Brits still upset over the Falklands
@@dexlab7539 No doubt!
@@dexlab7539 That's funny because I don't think we've got any reason to BE upset regarding the islands. It's the Argentine politicians that seem to want to bring it up, everytime they want to try and distract the general population from what an economic basket case Argentina is.
It's a shame really, it's such a beautiful country but run by morally corrupt b*stards!
Excellent video as ever. Does this mean that Ukraine should trade in their F16's for second hand Raptor/Predator drones with AMRAAM's?, if such a thing existed? 😮
Technically you lost every F-16 that landed on the islands too, given the airframe and pilots would have been captured by the Royal Marine Detachment that is on the island.
Passify!
and again Cap gets shot down while narrating on the map instead of keeping head up in his cockpit.
Autopilot will do that in combat 😂
Could hyoumuns have won from the other side?
Seeee!! Esperaba este video!! Abrazos argentinos Reapers! Vuelen tomando mate!
