I rented one of these for a week and absolutely loved it. It’s a little floaty, but the power train was butter, comfy, quiet, and mileage wasn’t too bad if you drove it right (for a v8)
These are cheaper new, but used, they are the absolute best bargain out there for a full size SUV. I just bought a 2022 SL for under $40k. A shout out to Hertz Car Sales. If you don't mind buying a previous rental, they have a great selection of late model cars for under Kelly Blue Book. Also while meandering around the countryside with not much stop and go, you can get 23 mpg. They love the open highway too. The final gear ratio is 2.93 which allows for RPM's under 2000 @ 75-80 mph.
I think that this is a great truck considering it doesn't have a six banger twin turbo Hybrid ridiculous motor in it just a good old V8. Great looking SUV
Pay more at the pump Vs frequent dealer visits? I will take option 1 I drive a Toyota Tacoma with over 130K miles.. Never seen a dealership in 10 plus years.. that baby is payed off and runs smooth like butter and more savings in my bank account!! Can’t say the same if I owned a ford, GM or Ram!! Japanese Trucks and Suvs for life!!
I brought a 2017 Armada in 2018...and I love this truck. 2017 -2019 Armada have NO RECALL ISSUES.. I can't say that about Ford, GMC or Toyotas in the same class and Yukon has major issues. The Armada has incredible speed, especially when using manual mode.
I'm driving an Armada to pull our camping trailer. I didn't want a pickup so was only looking at full size SUVs. I decided on the Armada for exactly the reasons you mentioned. It has good towing capacity and used the prices were $10-15 k cheaper than a Tahoe or Expedition. No brainer for me.
We really like our 2018 Armada, comfortable beautiful , and rides nice. She doesn't get premium fuel and no complaints. Her favorite trip is Northern MO. To to Florida and back.
To be honest, it's the only new Nissan I would consider buying if I was in the market right now. Patrol is a legendary nameplate for the same reason Land Cruiser is. Moving to the Patrol platform was 100% the correct move.
Totally agree, the North Americans don't realise what and fabulously engineered vehicle the Patrol, ehem, sorry the Armada is! Shame though, you miss out on a lot of proper off road upgrades compared to the Patrol, Rear Diff Lock, multi function traction control etc....
This things are amazing. I just wish Nissan wouldnt water them down like the do. This thing overseas is the Patrol the direct competitor of the Landcruiser and in many specs its even better. For some reason Nissan opted it to give us a water down Patrol smaller gas tank, weaker front axel and no lockers, no terrain management knob, and bigger plastic bumpers. It is a shame the next version is rumored to come with V6 turbo, although Nissan has been making turbo engines for a long time. Fo sure they will be better than current Toyota offerings
Great review Stephen/Howard, it is a formula that works , tried and true, the Armada had 4 wheel independent suspension years before the competition did and are always comfortable to drive and have stood up well to Canadian winters and their components have also stood up better than the competition, the patrol that is sold in Australia is rated as having almost the best A/C systems on the market and its one of the toughest places in the global market to test these systems, all the new models coming from the big 3 have to match the material quality and fit and finish and will take time to see how they hold up , domestic build quality is still questionable , yes it has gotten better and still has a ways to go to catch up with the European and JDM/South Korean products , great video 👍
I just bought a 2019 75000 on her! Powerhouse! I did not buy for fuel saver! Is is a beast! A lot cheaper than a bow tie! And it has a drive shaft. Rear wheel drive! Smooth as silk! Love it. Hwy, it’s 21 16 city. Not bad for 4wd 400 HP that can outrun a f250 any day!

Exclusive of the thirsty optional factory 5.6l it's enjoyable and reliable to drive. The V8 option was available from 08 to 12 to compete with the V8 4Runner. It was an option that's harder to find.
I’ve owned a 2018 armada for about 3 years now and I love it it tows very nicely and feels like a SUV should in my opinion look the older suburban and Tahoe did before they became the new mini van
All of the real world reports from the new tundra is around 16 miles per gallon for gas mileage. Even the F-150 isn't getting what they're claiming on paper.. it may be a little bit better than the tundra but still getting around the same gas mileage as a good old V8
I finally find a Video that has the same problem as my 2022 armada, I just pick up this car last week, overall a perfect truck so far . But same as yours in the video at 6:16, the forward warning thing is not centred, it slightly placed off to the right, which annoys me so much😂, I am wondering should I take it back to the dealer to have them look at it
Alhamdulillah in my experience owning nissan/infiniti, they are more reliable than the toyota/lexus. Especially when you take good care of your Nissan's vehicle with service routine with good oil, good spare parts and so on , in sya Allah they are more-more reliable. 🙂👍
Loved the Armada since it came out… but this isn’t really a midnight pkg it’s just black. The parts that would make it a midnight pkg isn’t black is chrome
Truck Kings, Can anyone explain how struggling Nissan can manage to bring us the Armada and the QX 80 from Japan while Toyota only brings the Lexus LX and leaves the Land Cruiser behind? 🤔
These reviews are redundant. I owned a Denali, and my ex Infiniti QX80. My Denali was new, wasn’t any better on gas than the Denali, and the QX80 out towed the Denali. My new 23 platinum falls short on thr QX80 on a few places so they aren’t the same, at all. Nissan makes a solid body on frame. I’d recommend the platinum over the lower.
More history of nissan being broke. The 1st Armada platform, based off the titan, was called the TA62. Nissan based the newer Patrol y62 off of the TA62.
