The passenger missions sound interessting, but do you really have only 6 days for a 22kLJ mission? This seems rather too short in my opinion. I mean, you can't just take vacation for a week just for this one mission, can you? :)
Do you see what they are doing? Fdev has said there are things out there were haven't found yet. These kinds of missions will put a ton of players outside the bubble... This is how the encounter will happen.
Manually plotting the long range missions is a huge pain in the ass... That's the only thing stopping me, having to sit there in the laggy galazy map estimating how far apart the stupid computer will allow my "waypoints" to be without stranding me 15k ly out
Currently on my way to Jaques and this has motivated me to hang around there until 2.2 is released. I can hopefully take some people to Sag A* and then take some back to the bubble and make a load of money out of the trip!
I've tried some of the long range missions and there not as easy as you think. The idiots on board always ask you to go somewhere else first or fetch something and make them unhappy enough they will fail the mission wasting your time and you get paid nothing. They are very profitable if you know what your doing but can be a frustrating waste of time if it goes wrong. I think Frontier need to tweak the difficulty abit. Lower the passenger demands for the shorter distance trips.
+ChaosWulff - Sci-Fi Gaming, They are just as demanding in beta 4. I have deliberately crashed my ship to get hull damage to see how many times it takes to fail the trip and it only takes about 3 times. Imagine if you were near the end of the 20+ ly trip and fail near the end. They should change the payment to pay up front and deduct a percentage depending how far you got before you failed. I can't see myself doing any of those long trips if you get nothing for your time.
What can I do if the Galaxy map puts "máximum range exceded" (or something like that) when I try to plan my journey??? (this only happens me when the star sistem is up to 1,000 LY)
I did the mission for the 300 mill, I even made a twitch series about it called the odesy of the starship Enterpernour.......it was a magnificent anaconda all decked out for Exploration it was marvelous.....that was the single most boring thing I have ever done in my life, it was good for the first 10,000-20,000 ly but after that Jesus was I fucking bored!
thats the problem with exploration. its booooooring as fuck. jump, scan, jump, scan, jump, scan, jump scan, jump, scan, jump, scan. thats it. if i could land on planets with atmospheres, clouds, and liquids it could be fun. especially if it had smoldering volcanoes, weather, and concentrated ore mining areas. but its all barren planets procedurally generated and they all look the same. and after spending 2 weeks going about 15,000 lighyears and back i only made 30 million credits, which i could have mad in a fraction of the time and enjoyed it a lot more.
So sad to see the economy broken. These kinds of missions (like most others) pay only a fraction of what you get deep core mining. This basically removes the financial incentive to take these long missions. If long range passenger missions paid 10x what they pay now (or if deepcore minerals paid 1/10th), that would be balanced.
No point in doing these unless you're planning on going out exploring in any case. You make far more money doing very short missions for 1 - 4 million each.
Yes, you can run passenger missions in any ship, the only limitation i the luxury cabins, as they need to be mounted in either the Dolphin, Orca or the Beluga.
If u going do long rage passengers mission take a advanced scaner i got a mission to go to colonia for 41 mil and for just scanning stars i got 20 mil so i got around 60 mil 😁
with smuggling from sothis/ceos you can get around 10-15 million in one run, thats only if your ranked up well though. each run takes 3 hours and is extremely boring though, so you have to strap in and stick "material girl" on repeat to stop yourself from going insane. well not really stop yourself, it drowns out the bored insanity with material girl insanity. works perfectly.
renato muu Look around and you can find one-system trade loops with zero jumps, which can net you around a million per circuit (depending on your ship and available cargo space).
but if its about money the fastest way for me is killing other ships.... i have a fdl almost a rated probably thats why ! lol also i have been wanting a catgo ship for long missions so yea you also have a point but mine is better lol
2:15 ... omg, they progromatically generated a person that isn't freaky looking.
+Ben Leighton haha, it must have been a he'll of an rng roll ;)

At least, explorer who wants to make serious money can make easy benefits. Moreover, they wont be alone anymore :)
Yes, map data counts towards explorer rank

The jaques ones are actually even better than you first though, they will surely be people from jaques wanting to head back

+Austin Tse aye... thing is these explorers did have it stated on the mission tat they were demanding... I wonder if it's changed in beta 4?

Never thought passenger runs from sothis.

The rpute planner only works up to 1000LY so anything over, even 0.001LY over will fail.
so, the only way it's to plan the travel 1000 LY at a time???
Yes.

I really hope they change the transfer costs...
Can you put pessenger cabins in an Anaconda?
Yes, just not the luxury varients
Can you run passenger missions with a Asp Explorer?
Yes, you can run passenger missions in any ship, the only limitation i the luxury cabins, as they need to be mounted in either the Dolphin, Orca or the Beluga.
Are you Techmoan? You sound like him
+Sieg2k6 Nope

just got my orca
1500 Ly for 14mil? No thanks, I'll keep my conda at haz res : )
I saw a mission to sag A for 52,000,000
why not just far RES and earn 1 to 3 million every 30 to 45 min ....?!! in 3 hours im at around 6.5 million !
with smuggling from sothis/ceos you can get around 10-15 million in one run, thats only if your ranked up well though. each run takes 3 hours and is extremely boring though, so you have to strap in and stick "material girl" on repeat to stop yourself from going insane. well not really stop yourself, it drowns out the bored insanity with material girl insanity. works perfectly.
Because different players like to do different things?
