I’ve always been a supporter of the “James Bond is the codename for 007” because it makes him a character that can be anyone. He is famously played by so many different actors. The only other comparison I can think of is Batman Dr. Who, and one of those character’s main trait is reincarnation. The problem is people who are racist and fearful of change.
Alba didn't deserve the raging racism, but i honestly prefer James Bond to retire forever. Personally, I don't want a franchise that ultimately glorifies western imperialism. if there must be another James Bond, i want him to bring down the monarch.

But yeh, I remember seeing Elba in something for the first time, and think damnnn he would be a PERFECT bond, I'm also confused why race or gender is an issue, I prefer the theory of 007 and Bond as just an alias for anyone to use. Especially as DANIEL CRAIG UNALIVED in the last film. I'm gutted we won't see Elba as Bond, but far more gutted that there are people in society who ruined this chance.

No one should like racism. No one should see or hear racism. To me the problem is when movie makers chance the characteristics of a character that has clear origins: Little Mermaid Ariel was a white red haired girl, now she's a Latina Snow White was black haired extremely pale white girl now Colombian. James Bond 007 is a white man, now they are trying to make him a woman or a non white. If black or Asian character is changed into white character it's hell on earth But the moment when established white character is changed to black everyone should celebrate. It doesn't work that way Black must be black Latino must be Latino Asian must be Asian Gay character must be gay But white character can be absolutely anything. I will go see every damn 00 movie I will go see many Disney movies with my kids I will teach my kids about original snow white and little Mermaid. I will show my kids black panther and Asian Kung fu movies when they are old enough. I will teach my kids that everyone is equal. I will teach human rights etc. I will teach the origins of every character that I know. But I will not teach my kids this woke crap. Make a Latina princess movie, make a Latina Mermaid movie and make a black British agent or Asian descent movie and I will show them to my kids. But make original characters and stop changing old characters
I prefer the casino royal (the original one the one with the horses) version for how bond gets chosen “James Bond” is just the code name given to a spy they want the enemy to fear so there’s no real bond so anyone can be bond
It's funny that black panther is considered the first black superhero when Ishinomori created a black hero 2 years before Black Panther in Cyborg 009. Yes the way he was drawn is questionable considering disney cartoons were Ishinomori's exposure but he took Pyunma aka Cyborg 008 VERY seriously. The awkward moment when East does a better representation of black people before the west ever could lmao

Bond actors are relative unknown when they are cast. Which means you can think Elba shouldn't play Bond and not be a racist about it.

As for elba i used to think handsome guy whenever i saw him but now all i think about is the gold documentary that he acted in, some things he said there destroyed his image as a thoughtful person.
