My name is Hammo and I stream on Twitch! I play a variety of "map games" and strategy games, but my favourite game by far is Hearts of Iron IV.
I love this game and it's complexity, strategy and historical focus, but these are also reasons people can find it hard to get into Hoi4. The endless spreadsheets, statistics, buffs and debuffs can be overwhelming without someone to show you the ropes, which is where this channel comes in!

@@azizsh9091 It's all good! And yeah it is tricky, that's why the navy is across three videos hahah but they should help you get up to speed!
Rocket rails are actually kinda good though. They offer rather litte ground attack, but they're also extremely cheap and use up minimal weight. This makes them great as a supplemental weapon on CAS and tactical bombers that are already nearing their weight limit. Or you plop a set of rocket rails into the last weapons slot of a fighter rocking cannons in the otehr slots, so now all your new fighters can also do a little bit of CAS/logi strikes once you secured the airspace.
You have some good points, but generally if you get to the point of having enough air supremacy you can use your fighters for CAS support, you're better off taking some of your factories off your fighters and making CAS.
I was going to say you're better off using bomb locks over rocket rails, but actually it's 6 damage vs 4, both at the same IC cost, and the main thing is the rocket rails only have 1 weights, the bomb locks have 5. So this can actually save you overall IC by only needing a single engine (if you're on the improved airframe with engine III, AT II, AT I, dive brakes and armour plates), so that's actually a really good call! Thanks for pointing that out!
@@hammotimee On a side note, one thing I wanna test out is a "CAS" with a single rocket rail in the primary wepaons slot and otherwise completely built as a fighter, then combine it with various CAS bonuses from doctrines, advisors etc. Could actually end up with said CAS plane being a better fighter than actual fighters. 😅

@@hammotimee Specifically, the Battlefield Support tree gives CAS planes +20% agility, while the otehr two trees five fighters and heavy fighters +10%. And Battlefield Support also gives +40% mission efficiency for air support mission, while Interception and Air Superiority get at best +20% from the other two trees. A "CAS fighter" going around rocketing things should hence theoretically be a pretty damn dangerous prospect for enemy fighters, and you only need to get halfway down the doctrine tree for all those bonuses.

I'm playing Democratic Cuba, and I just realized the generic focus tree gives you four 100 percent research bonuses for your light planes.

Gotta admit, not a big fan of the plane designer but i do gotta deal with it because i just LOVE the peace conference rework, it adds some good rp potential so if you have a couple of friends you can def rp with them
I really enjoy it! It adds a lot of customisation which wasn't there before for the planes 😁
I don't know if its a mod I'm using but Dive Breaks for some reason prevents me from using Navy Bomber weapons. I really don't get why that is when the Dive Breaks literally provide benefits to Navy and Port Strike missions.

unfortunately I am still playing with the old designer, but is it still true that more agility is good against enemy fighters and more air attack is good against enemy bombers?
You need both, agility is super important, especially for fighters but on all planes it reduces their chance of being shot down. And your air attack needs to be higher than an enemies armour to hurt them
How you can put dive brakes on fighter, when iam design the plan the design doesn't allowed me to put dive brakes on small carrier
You can't put dive brakes on a fighter anymore, the only exception to this is if you make a CAS plane with one bomb lock/rocket rail, then treat it like a fighter with a bunch of guns etc

Can you give any airframe any role? Like large airframe fighters and CAS?
For small and medium yes, but less the airframes can only be strat bombers, and large airframes are the only ones that can carry nukes too!

I was just thinking about how fun it would be to see some small airframe fighters thinking they were going to attack strat bombers and it turned out to be large airframe fighters. Kinda like "I am not trapped here with you. You are trapped here with me".
