Hey, just needed to say... Manson has NOT been proven guilty by Evan's claims, or of the other women that jumped on the bandwagon. I believe that his lawsuit against her for defamation will speak truths. I've done a lot of research about the claims, and it seems like BS.
      Otherwise, great video!

I'm sorry you're getting some invasive/infantilizing comments about your pregnancy and love of horror. You are fully capable of taking care of yourself and knowing your own limits, and it's no one on the internet's business to be questioning what you should and shouldn't do while pregnant. I wish you and the baby well!!

Sophia h is obviously someone who has asked one of the questions pertaining to pregnancy and wanted to clarify her intentions. There was nothing to be sorry about for people asking questions in a respectful manner. Sarah didn’t seem to be offended by or take the questions as invasive, just more perplexed which makes sense as she’s a first time mother.

It’s about a man who goes into surgery and while he’s supposed to be unconscious, he feels EVERYTHING that the doctors are doing to him and they unfortunately can’t tell that he’s in pain feeling everything. Based on a true story. I just refuse to see it lol

I went to a deli I liked frequenting, and on this night, there was a new manager on the floor, and he had this film playing, while people were just casually trying to eat their roast beef sandwiches and such. I was so disturbed both by the choice in film for the venue, but also because I was flippin pregnant and what the heck is this, in front of my mac and cheese!? You should ignore us all and watch it for yourself. You need to pay attention throughout the movie and it’s a psychological horror (borderline thriller) and the movie had me thinking for a while. It’s not an easy watch and I do not wish to rewatch. It does make you think about everything concerning what happens in the movie.

@@stephaniealicea9782 It’s basically a horror/nuisance take on Christianity I think (characters are supposed to represent god, mother nature, Jesus, and mankind). Very interesting but definitely not something I’ll watch again. Also, slight spoiler and major trigger warning:
There’s a scene in the film where a baby gets brutally torn apart and partially eaten. The death is off screen, but it’s gorey nonetheless. I think that’s the reason why most people avoid this film. That could’ve been why Jennifer Lawrence was disturbed by the film too (since she’s also a mother).

Hey that’s how I started watching horror. I don’t think there’s any right or wrong way to approach horror. People have different tastes and different things that are too triggering. I watch a pretty broad spectrum of horror these days, but there are still some types of horror and some specific movies that I won’t watch.

    • @parkchimmin7913
      @parkchimmin7913 2 роки тому +8

I love watching bad horror movies. They manage to scare from time to time, but seeing the bad CGI/ writing/ acting/etc really helps calm me down. Like (this might be a bit controversial) “Annabelle: Creation”. I watched it with my cousins and we had a few laughs because the “hurrdurr, horror movie characters are stupid and my dumb decisions”, but we still had some moments where we were scared shitless!
Also, maybe it’s just me, but before I watch a horror movie, I like to watch behind the scenes footage (like watching them put on make up or see how they filmed stunts). It helps me feel less scared and appreciate the small details the make up team and film crew out into the movie. “Oh, I know how that scene was filmed. They used wires to lift that character! It looks so cool in the movie!”

Love that you mentioned Jeepers Creepers on this list. I too saw the first one at a time where Salva’s crimes weren’t common knowledge or widely publicized and were something that required lots of online digging to uncover. It was some time after the release of the second one that I found out, and at that point completely separated myself from anything Salva ever did (or ends up doing in the future). I don’t own any JC movie in my collection, nor will I ever support one. As a single parent of one somewhat young child and one very young child, this is a hill I’m willing to die on no matter how many toxic internet trolls who aren’t bothered by Salva’s repugnant past try to insult me about it.

I totally understand the change in your tolerance for certain horror. My bday is Halloween, so I’ve always loved horror movies. I can’t recall if I was sensitive about pregnancy/body horror while pregnant. I don’t think I was. However, after my baby was born things changed. I absolutely had no ability to tolerate any horror/movies involving young children being hurt or scared. It took me until my daughter was about 8-10yo for that visceral disgust to fade completely. As my daughter got older, and I slowly exposed her to certain horror movies she now loves them too! She’s 17yo now and we just went and saw, “Smile,” together. She also raved about Barbarian, but I haven’t seen it yet. So, congrats on your pregnancy! Maybe you’ll get lucky like me and end up with a buddy to watch horror with in a few years! 👻😄

I couldn’t imagine thinking “I’ll never watch these movies I enjoyed EVER again” so very curious on what you think of it?

I didn’t want to rewatch/watch anything like Mother! or Goodnight Mommy (Austrian film) while pregnant/for awhile after. But now almost 3 years later I’m back to enjoying all themes/sub genres of horror. I think it comes down to hormonal changes, or at least for me it did. When I was about 8 months pregnant I went to see the first Annabelle movie in theatres not really thinking anything of it and it wasn’t super scary or amazing but that scene where she was stabbed in the stomach shook me lol. I literally looked down and my stomach then looked at my husband and we both just said damn 😅 Ever since having my two sons I struggle with anything to do with kids and violence.

I hear you! I saw it in theather years ago when I wasn't pregnant. I recently saw it again a few months ago and the scene that really got me was when she hits the Annabelle doll on the crib, throws it, looks again and sees her baby lifeless on the floor. I grabbed my 6 month old daughter and held her tight after that scene. Seeing babies/kids get hurt in movies gives me a whole new reaction now that I'm a mom myself.

I’m not a mom, but I do have a brother who’s 8 years younger than me. When he was still a baby, I couldn’t stomach seeing babies in pain or crying in film because I would think of my brother. Sometimes, I’d run over to check up on him. Edit: I love horro, but anything involving young children getting hurt is a big no for me. There’s a scene in Doctor Sleep where a kid gets tortured and his screams felt so real and gut-wrenching, I had to skip ahead.

Hey Sarah ! Have you done "Crowhaven Farm" yet? It's truly one of the most frightening films I ever watched as a kid (Actually a TV movie). In the highest grade of tv horror movies, more like a Witchy chiller-thriller. Kinda hard to get hold of in the UK but should easy be able to view it on any media in US...🤔

I had the same experience with Mother. I actively seek out disturbing movies, specifically horror, so it was right up my alley. However, it got to me on a completely different level. I think only a couple other movies made me THAT physically and mentally anxious, and not in an enjoyable way at all. I actually had to stop it at one scene to catch my breath. I would like to revisit it at some point, since it's been quite a few years, but I don't know if I'm ready to put myself through that again.

Midsommer was so different from Hereditary, and yet, it's the same ambiance, like an aftertaste, that I couldn't get rid of for ages. While this is definitely not horror related, this does remind me of the story my mom gave me when I was a baby. Back in the day before VHS became a thing, sometimes Disney would re-release their movies into theaters and my mom took me to see Bambi when I was a baby (I am her first born). My mom hadn't seen the movie yet either. Well that famous death scene actually traumatized my mom and made her cry (she was only 21 at the time so she was still young herself). My mom was a lot more emotional when pregnant and still had those issues after becoming a mother, she did say there were certain things she couldn't watch anymore.
