When his daughter is telling him about the swag bag she got backstage, one of the things she mentions is temporary tattoos. I was waiting for the killer to be "Wait, what? Hey! lets put those on for fun!" so he could hide his tattoo. Nope. Not even registered by him at all.
This movie makes sense if it’s taking place in the Hitman games universe. He’s conspicuously walking around the venue totally unremarked, causing random distractions, changing costumes, collecting useful pick up items, etc.
As someone who has snuck/schmoozed their way into *cough* more than a few places I shouldn't have been it's honestly easier than it should be. 😂 Especially if you're a reasonably well dressed, well groomed person. Walk with confidence and act like you know where you're going. A smile and a wave goes a long way I stg. No clown costume required.
I feel like if I was at a concert and then the whole venue was suddenly surrounded by FBI agents and SWAT guys in full tactical gear I would be a lot more anxious than any of the people in this movie seem to be. Like the murderer dad is freaking out but you'd think everyone else would be a little worried too.
Right? Excellent way to trigger a panic and then a potential crowd crush situation, especially given they've blocked exits and are slowing people down getting in and out. Which actually WOULD have been a really clever distraction for this guy to use to get out, because a crush is so incredibly dangerous and can have huge death tolls. It would absolutely have to pull the all the focus of everyone in charge, and they'd be forced to let everyone out as quickly as possible to prevent deaths.
When I saw the trailer I was sure the twist was that the daughter was the killer and her father was protecting her. Shymalan twist worked for and against me.
@@felipeveloso1578it even had the perfect setup for it too. When the Raven was spelling out the profile of the killer so the wife would put it together, she could have just responded "oh, that he's the Butcher? Yeah, we know ☺"
the film would be infinitely better if this were the case. You could easily mislead by claiming he took her phone at the beginning and he silently discovers she is the killer hence the events of the film. There were seeming hints to it too since he could have just gone under the stage without her if he cared about actually escaping.
The Shyamalan-cameo really feels like Shyamalan was plotting the movie and hit a wall like "well how do I get him backstage? OH! I'll take him there myself!"
So you completely missed the point that, in order to get behind the scenes, Cooper lied about his daughter’s condition, thereby betraying his bright side? Truly, haters point blank do not see the meaning, only a form they do not understand)
@@Str52849 Sure, a security guard just happens to be the main act’s family member, and happens to be right there for the killer to run into, and he believes without a doubt some tearful story about a girl’s illness, like 500 others hadn’t tried that already to get backstage…sounds utterly plausible, if my IQ is in single digits. 🙄
The girl not being the killer is probably the most boring decision they could have made. Are you really telling me that being a swiftie would not be an incredible characterization for a fantasy serial killer?
OR, even darker. A movie about an obsessive singer fan, that he/she wants to become that celeb, therefore gets mistaken for the singer. Like you know those UA-camrs who disguise themselves to look like an exact replica of Swift, Bieber, Eilish, or Grande, and even pretend to be them in public; WHAT IF THEY KIDNAPPED THE SINGER AND BECAME THEM? Like King of Comedy, meets being John Malkovich, with a hint of The Prestige (except without the cloning-SPOILERS...).
@@emmettlyra4185 I was thinking of that too, but maybe more camp. Maybe the father treats the kills as a nuisance(it would also explain why he is not discreet at all when trying to find a way of escaping)
It should never have left the concert venue. He should have been walking through that back exit, about to be stopped by the cops, and then the little girl acts cute and the pop star intervenes because, “How could a good dad like that be a killer?” And then it should reveal the daughter knew the whole time and acted cute to help her dad, as they drive off to kill the guy in the basement. The end. Hilarious.
This is based off a time where the police set up a fake award ceremony through a mail set up and arrested 100 people with warrants. To counter the people somehow making it about race below. Though yeah, it’s still crazy because thousands go to a concern while in the real life example the police knew Everyone that entered the building
The biggest flaw in this whole movie to me is them thinking the best way to catch one serial killer, whose identity they don't know, is a concert with thousands of people in attendance. Had the dad just acted completely normal, I don't see how he would've ever been caught.
They were desperate (12 bodies torn to pieces over 7 years in places like bridges and playgrounds) and grabbed the opportunity. The father doesn't know what the police have (fingerprints, photos of his car?). He is very afraid of the profiler also. Not to mention the fact that throwing away the ring given to Riley without Riley telling about it is unlikely)
@@Str52849Can you explain why it makes sense to just let the killer that's eluded the entire nation for 7 years, having 12 bodies under their belt, into a crowded venue of 20k+ people makes sense in anyway? And it **didn't** work, so canonically the plan was a failure. AND he still managed to injure two people at the event lol
The funny thing being, that he saw a random guy being caught, and learn he was some robber who panicked. Like yeah, by acting normal they would have never catch him.
Presumably the wrist tattoo thing? That seems pretty specific in for a man in his 30s. But logistically I’m not sure you can stop every person to check them 😂
It felt like a pretty... ok student film where the director had a very rich dad to fund it and open doors to locations. Except the director WAS that very rich dad.
The girl with the Fryalator melted face should make millions suing the FBI for gross negligence and the entire audience has a class action suit for criminal endangerment. Every single fed in the chain of command in this clusterfuck should be in jail. 10/10.
I remember when I watched I thought that focusing so much on the concert was a weird artistic choice. Then I found out the actress that plays the singer was the director's daughter.
Many of Shyamalan's movies are twist-end movies, but far from ALL. Nevertheless, movie nerds suffer from the fixation and delusion that there must be a twist in a Shyamalan flick, and they even _believe_ they see a twist although there is none. For example, there is no twist in The Happening or Lady in the Water, the explanations are delivered early in the movies.
We were clearly shown that they deployed their main power resources only when the concert had already begun, so the secret was more or less kept; the general briefing was early in the morning of the same day.
13:35 No restaurant on the planet uses 1 gallon glass jugs of oil for the deep fryers.... Not because they're dangerous in any way, but because glass jugs are expensive. We use the cheapest 5 gallon plastic jugs of canola oil that money can buy!
Those weren't jugs of oil but soda. Putting glass bottles of soda in a deep fryer will make the bottle both explode. And the sudden rush of soda into the oil makes it boil over/explode as well. Really don't know how people think those are glass jugs of oil. As adding cold oil would just cool off the oil
The concert platform next to the stairs really should have been the way they escape. The movie is called _TRAP_ and they don't go through the trapdoor? It was right there, both figuratively and literally!
Cooper divides his life into two parts: he really loves his family and he really is a serial killer, killing those who consider themselves whole, behaving in approximately the same positive way with everyone. He cannot escape when his daughter is nearby, without her.
I loved Trap it's so funny. One of the best things about it, is Josh Hartnett's performance. He understood the assignment and made the most goofiest expressions.
I first wanted the plot twist to be that the wife actually knew all along. Then, I thought of adding a second twist where Lady Raven is about to get away after trying to free the other victim and fighting the parents, but it turns out the daughter is the real serial killer, and the parents are just covering for her. And in true M. Night Shyamalan style, they went to the concert planning to kidnap Lady Raven all along.😂
It's great to see Josh Hartnett back on the big screen again. He's so charming and charismatic, and has a sweet relationship with his daughter, that you'd almost forget that he's the clear baddie, like Penn Badgley in "You."
@@CantankerousDaveI always bring up Penny Dreadful when Josh Hartnett’s acting is brought up, and so few people even know what I’m talking about! The show wasn’t perfect, but I swear every single person in that cast was giving it 110%.
This whole movie felt like watching a Hitman playthrough. The different exit options, the random shots of target characters doing thing that don't lead anywhere, how whenever the killer does something abnormal no one notices the one person walking away from the scene, it all feels like timed events the player missed or routes to try in another playthrough.
I love the fact Hayley Mills, star of the original Parent Trap, is in this movie about trapping a parent, and is playing the criminal psychologist who is orchestrating this trap.
Yes, great move, I liked it too. The Butcher also has almost supernatural power and the gift of causing empathy among others, being in his light state. Given his abusive mother, who only nurtured his dark side with her cruel punishments, the action takes place in the Unbreakable universe.
It just dawned on me. He bought tickets for the concert but they mentioned in the film that the show he went to was like a last minute thing because the night show sold out. But the actual reason for the earlier show was to catch him. So he bought tickets for a show that wasn’t scheduled yet.
I think we're all just incredibly sick of trailers that show literally all the major beats of the movie. They could've shown a lot of action and the setup without fully revealing that he's the guy they're hunting. Yes, not as necessary with this specific movie, but it should be the norm to keep a lot more of the plot out of trailers.
Me and my partner were lucky to go in completely blind and it was a super fun watch! We live in a small town and only read the one/ two sentence blurb on our theatres website. It looked like the best out of the three movies playing so we just went for it! Great time, we loved it, I got very excited when Russ popped up bc I loovveee him. It’s definitely a big ole nepotism promo movie but I don’t mind bc she has a lovely voice and I’m a huge pop girlie, so I can respect the fact that she delivered on the soundtrack.
@@jasminecollins897 I mean, the second they revealed he was the one they were going after, THAT was the moment me and my friend were like "oh we're seeing this." We both agreed that if they didn't show that aspect it wouldn't have grabbed our attention.
The idea behind the movie is not "let's find out who the killer is", but rather "let's see how he gets out of this situation". It could have worked and would have been interesting in theory, it was the execution that was lacking (not the actor's fault obviously the plot and its increasing absurdity was the problem).
This trailer is beautiful, it creates interest and by the fact that it shows scenes only from the first half, from the concert, then you can clearly see all those stupid haters who didn’t even watch the film and copy and paste the phrase “the whole film is a concert " and "the audience is trapped at the concert of Shyamalan's daughter", and there are hundreds and hundreds of them) Haters not only don’t turn their heads when watching, they don’t even see what’s shown in the film.
I LITERALLY had the same thought of "What if the daughter was in on it/the killer?" And I'm so disappointed that wasn't the case. I did personally enjoy the movie... But i had just seen Borderlands right before it so it's not like it had much competition.
Yeah, I thought they'd hug at the end and he'd mention how his cover was blown and they had to move again and she'd just be like "that's OK, it was worth it". Seemed like a layup 😂
Would've been way better if the kid orchestrated it all. There's a low budget movie kinda like this excluding the whole trap part. It's about a kid who finds out his older brother is a serial killer. And the fuck actually doesn't seem to care untill he himself gets in danger
@@112523 No, the child loves him infinitely and he loves the child. Actually, first Lady Raven and then the wife in the film took advantage of this "weakness". And the wife may notice something that the child will not notice. So idea "if the kid orchestrated it all" it's a nonsense)) Trap it's not about "who did it" and "who framed who"
I kept switching Lady Raven’s name out with Taylor Swift to reinforce how absurd everything that happened in this movie was. Everybody on every security team and everybody guard in the building at this concert is fired because how do you let Taylor Swift get kidnapped.
If you looked carefully, you saw that this was not a kidnapping, she voluntarily put herself in this situation in order to save Spencer, moreover, the team leader led them to the limousine.
@@Str52849she met with him in a locked room with only one entry point, that's a big security no no. When she goes on live and starts speaking deliriously, he doesn't come to the house. *When she texts him to call the police* he still doesn't come to the house, which is just bull💩. The final nail in the coffin (and where she was unarguably kidnapped) is the scene with The Butcher stealing the limo. So after just barely escaping a serial killer, the FBI and her team don't decide to give Ms.Swift anymore security detail. They don't drive her in a more secure vehicle, they don't even switch cars at all. The family and kids get a secure escort, but she gets nada. Jeremiah just causally disappears for that scene so Mr. Butcher can waltz into the car and drive off with her, mind you they already knew that they needed to stop and check her car before he even left the street (since they had just figured out he escaped underground and through the neighbors front yard) which was already bad enough. That's straight up hilarious lol
I personally think that when almost every movie Shyamalan has written has been called unintentionally funny that he might just actually do it on purpose tbh

With Jamie, I though him and the butcher (I forgot the characters name) would have been friends before hand and that’s why he was comfortable sharing that the show was a trap, maybe adding something like stay close to your daughter tonight, trying to give him a warning, but it’s kinda weird how he comprises the entire operation because he told a guy he does not know
The film shows everything. Anyone who watched the film carefully has no questions. Jamie is both a chatterbox and a fan of The Butcher, and can't wait to tell you everything and in great detail about all things Butcher.
@@Str52849Jamie literally has an end credit scene where he freaks out that he helped The Butcher and swears to never tell a coworker information ever again. He was a chatterbox yes, but he only gave up the code because he thought a fireman was a "brother in arms". He was not a fan of The Butcher.
I mean, back when I worked at a concert venue, I wasn't getting paid enough to help people make my job harder. Plus, gossiping with concert goers was so much fun.
M. Night Shyamalan cast Hayley Mills (the original star of The Parent Trap) as the FBI Profiler. He knew exactly what he was doing when he made this movie.
I thought the reason why they showed raven having asthma was to justify why there was an intermission but maybe im putting stuff in there thats not there
To me this movie would be almost redeemed, if the last scene of the movie was the daughter talking to like a therapist, a couple years latter and she saying: well that's what I think happened... ORRR better yet... put in a Shyamalan twist, is her talking with her first victim wile they are like, gagged and tie to a wall or something... better sequel batting two, imo
When you said Lady Raven was in the car with him and his daughter for some unknown reason I thought it'd pivot to like a serial killer road trip with hostages? Like, I think I made a dark comedy move concept with that; Serial killer takes hostage on a roadtrip to avoid detection while trying to disguise it as a normal fun roadtrip for his daughter. I'm kinda attached to the idea now.
You may be interested in “The Family Plan” with Mark Wahlberg. He’s a secret agent rather than a serial killer but it still has the “pretending this is a fun road trip for the kids”.
What's the problem with understanding why Lady Raven is in the car? She wanted to save Spencer, who could be killed by Cooper at any moment. She saw that love for her daughter was Cooper's weakness and took advantage of it. First, when she offered to go to their house, and then, when she unsettled Cooper with the song Where Did She Go, after calling Riley and hiding her phone.

My church (which doubles as an aid center) recently got broken into, and that guy made direct eye contact with every single camera he moved or broke - so that part strikes me as being both hilarious and realistic
Haven't wanted to see this one since I saw the spoilers for the ending. The dad shouldn't have been the killer. The guy on his phone cam should have been the killer, but the dad turned the tables on him after phone-guy killed his wife/his daughter's mom. That's the twist I thought we'd get, and the real ending was so telegraphed in the trailers that I thought it was going to be a red-herring.
I thought the secret was going to be that there was a different serial killer they were after, and he just happened to be in the wrong place at the worst time. I would have preferred that.
19:24 In fairness, her reaction does make sense with the context of the ending twist - it's her suspicions of Cooper being the butcher being confirmed, rather than her already knowing. The twist itself barely makes any sense, but it does at least recontextualise that scene.

As a true crime aficionado, this is just triggering to watch... If the police only has the ticket to go on of (and some very loose description), how are they going to know they've found their man? Just some profiling? Yeah no. There's thousand of men at this venue, trying to screen everyone this way is absurd and a waste of resources, because you can't arrest people just on a whim, and that ticket is only circumstantial evidence AT BEST. You need a ton of compounded evidence in order to officially put someone under arrest. Having this many officers on location would only create mass panic (seeing that, I would immediately think of some terrorist threat) and give a potential opportunity for a hostage situation to the killer. The liability is through the effing roof here! Yeah, this movie ain't for me, I know.
This movie somehow managed to insult both - my education (as a criminal lawyer) and my actual job (as an event and concerts manager). I can't even start to describe how stupid all these things are.
When I saw the trailer for this movie first I thought the big twist was going to be that the real killer was the daughter and the dad was just covering for her. Guess I gave the S man too much credit lol.

I like to think that the butcher got some kind of supernatural ability because dude teleports around like 3 times during inescapable situations. Also, he took those teasers like a chad😭.
If you mean those artistic film conventions, like in The Bourne Identity, where Bourne "disappears" on the pier after a vehicle passes by, or the characters in Person of Interest constantly disappearing and reappearing, then yeah, I like those standard artistic "teleportations" too. Especially when we're shown the door right next to him that Cooper is looking at, which he can go into to turn up the temperature, when we're shown the exit from the closet, and when we're shown the free right side of the limo after the crowd has retreated from it and rushed to take pictures of Lady Raven running out. Your idea of Cooper being supernatural is hinted at by the video of Spencer's kidnapping, the episode with the tasers, and the episode where the group leader watches how innocent Cooper and his daughter are, hugging and looking at Lady Raven. This could very easily be Unbreakable universe. Moreover, I hope M.Night will do just that in the second part, since Trap has already collected 80+ million in theaters with a production budget of 30 million
Josh Hartnett was one of the best parts of this movie. His character's relationship with his daughter actually kinda had me rooting for him in the beginning because I didnt want to see how devastated she would be
On second watch there is symbolism in the song about forgiveness. Lady Raven says that everyone who has forgiven the person who hurt them should put their phone in the air and Josh Harnett is the only person in the crowd who doesn’t put his phone up. Which is him acknowledging that he hasn’t forgiven his mother. It’s weak as hell because he’s also a dad who just wouldn’t put his phone up. But they were trying to do…something…there.
yeah I assumed they were playing with that too but it so immediately gets undercut with him seeing people getting pulled from the crowd. I wish they would have tried to tie his interest in her more to that than the inhaler scene
You can't even look carefully the second time. It's not that he didn't pick up his phone, it's how he reacted to all those who did. We see that he has not forgiven his mother from his articulation during Lady Raven's speech about forgiveness. Guys, will you ever learn to watch movies carefully?))
@@AmandaTheJedi You assumed it, but only remembered it now, right?)) But the whole film is a comedy, right? Showing the inhaler as a sign of at least some kind of flaw that Cooper finds in Lady Raven, who is whole and represents a positive attitude towards everyone, in contrast to Cooper, who constantly divides his life, you also did not understand. It was probably a funny moment too.
@@orthenightThe monologue is not in isolation from all the previous events of the film. Without it, for example, an ordinary schoolchild watching the film might not guess why Cooper reacts to the inhaler in this way. And throughout the film, from Cooper's mother's visions and Raven's speech about her father before Release, we are gradually led to the confrontation of the ideas of "integrity" of Lady Raven's general positive attitude (this is how she saves Spencer with the help of her loyal fans) to all people and Cooper's "division" into a loving father and an exemplary family man and a monster. But this is the problem with all inattentive viewers: at first they say that this idea was not there, because something was not shown, then, when you point it out to them, they say well, yes, it was shown, but so implicitly)) But in their heads everything is "explained".
I was waiting for your take on the movie! My fiance and I went to see it and we did very much enjoy it. We actually liked Lady Raven's character more than we thought we would. The hallucination thing was stupid, could've just cut that right out.
Then the image of the influence of an abusive mother would not have been shown and there would not have been an obvious contrast between the dark side of Cooper's personality and his light side.
When I originally saw the trailer I thought it was like the audience was "trapped" with the serial killer somehow and he would start killing people during the concert
I really thought the t-shirt the daughter was wearing was nicked off a body or something and that's why they thought the killer will go to a lady raven concert. Then they added another show and only let people in a small area that they knew the killer lived in could buy. Nah random ticket?
And I didn't speculate until the movie explained it to me: the show was added much earlier, and then the ticket receipt for the show was found, thanks to an anonymous tip. Yes, and that puts the tipper in a gray area, considering the possible danger to her family member.
I loved this movie so much! I want the sequel, I want a convoluted soap opera retcon that the family was in on it the whole time, I want Lady Raven back fighting crime, I want it to keep understanding the assignment
My personal head canon is that the dad has supernatural luck. Its not like M.Knight hasn't done supernatural people before in a normal setting. With everything that managed to happen to him as well as him get out of, he just felt extremely lucky. I honestly enjoyed looking at it from that angle as well. Its not like the man didnt plan things in advance but everything even when going wrong just worked in his favor XD
"A lot of the stuff is so very wrong, and so very lazy... and its gonna get worse in a way that is trying to be 'smarter'" really does apply to most of Shayamalan's stuff
Which reviewer said that? Clearly not Amanda, because she can't watch a movie that inattentively) This refers to the fact that the reviewer does not use his headache and generally does not understand why the scenes of the film are shown this way.
I cannot imagine every firefighter in a city would be informed of an FBI sting at a venue. I cannot imagine *a* firefighter that wasn't already on duty making sure a concert that size didn't turn into a pyre for a hundred thousand people would be told. That's by far the craziest idea in this video.
@@iusethisnameformygoogleacc1013 it feels like too many people (aka too many writers) forget that firefighters don’t only respond to fire calls, but ems too. Josh Hartnett being great is what really sells this movie. Is it dumb on multiple levels? Absolutely. Is it also just goofy fun? Absolutely. Personally, I had fun with it for the same reason I have fun with the Hitman games. They straddle the line between serious and goody fun in the most perfect way. I don't know if Shyamalan did this on purpose, but it works. This movie really did feel like a level of Hitman.
Fortunately, a continuation of Cooper's story is planned for development. Shyamalan is writing a new script. Nice catch! One of the small things I found funny was that one reviewer concluded during the screening that Cooper wasn't a serial killer because Apple doesn't allow bad characters to be shown in their movies. What he didn't realize was that it wasn't product placement, since Trap was entirely financed by Shyamalan (as he's been doing since The Visit) and Saleka.
I guess it required suspension of disbelief, but my whole group had an amazing time with Trap. It was just a ridiculous good time. Always love your breakdowns!
The dumbest thing is that the Feds came there because of a receipt. And the guy bought a fixed seat. They could have easily went to the ticket vendor and checked which seat he bought tickets to.
My immediate thoughts: this is 3 movies in 1. Movie 1 was a critique on TS concerts. Movie 2 was a serious Scooby doo episode. You know, Hanna Barbera watched True Crime. Movie 3 was a Lifetime movie. The Pie that rocked the cradle! And I would rewatch. It was not crazy bad. Just M. Night good. 🐤☕️
Additional positive of this film: it reveals those who only watched the trailer (those who say like "the whole film is a concert"), those who do not give any arguments, but only insult (those who say like "Take your meds") and after Trap the audience that does not accept the style of a fairy tale in Shyamalan's modern setting will finally leave. The majority of viewers will be those who like the style of his films and haters for the sake of hate, plus reviewers who raise views and subscriptions on hate reviews, but there are not many of them)

Beyond being an obvious vehicle for his daughter’s musical career, M. Night definitely seems to have been inspired by Dexter. The concept itself is fairly solid though the execution is terrible, I’m just glad I didn’t bother watching this in the cinema. I missed the after credit scene and it’s enough to convince me it was actually a comedy, somehow despite its many flaws I was entertained and wouldn’t be mad to see a sequel. Though M. Night please give characters deeper motivation and way better dialogue!
I had fun watching this movie, it felt like it was taking place in an alternate dimension or something; everything felt off, but weirdly worked together
When his daughter is telling him about the swag bag she got backstage, one of the things she mentions is temporary tattoos. I was waiting for the killer to be "Wait, what? Hey! lets put those on for fun!" so he could hide his tattoo.
Nope. Not even registered by him at all.
I had the exact same thought.
That definitely crossed my mind too. It seemed like a MUCH better way to hide his tattoo instead of the bracelet that can easily be removed.

And then it should reveal the daughter knew the whole time and acted cute to help her dad, as they drive off to kill the guy in the basement. The end. Hilarious.

Many of Shyamalan's movies are twist-end movies, but far from ALL.

Praying for Shyamalan and his family to gain self-awareness someday, god bless
It was a funny joke. But if you watch any interviews with him in the last 10 years, you will see that he knows exactly what he is doing)
My mom and I watched Old together when it came out and we laughed so hard! If Shyamalan could stop taking these movies so seriously and fully commit to the absurdity, he would probably make an amazing horror comedy.
My hubby didn't understand why the dialogue in that movie irked me so much. It was clunky and dumb. Ending was ok though.
@@Brookings715 it was clunky and dumb, sometimes I don't think Shyamalan knows how people actually talk. That's part of why it was so funny to me though

I'll surprise you now, if you used Google, you would see that Shyamalan does not take his films so seriously. The Visit is a horror comedy. Today is discovery day for you, isn’t it?)
The thing is, the movies are pretty absurd..he doesnt need to force the absurdity.
I'm still not sure how good/bad this movie is, or how much of it's (intentional) comedy/thriller, but I'm quite sure this is the most fun I had with a Shyamalan movie since Split...
The film is very good if you see its meaning. And from the meaning you already understand why it is implemented in this form. There are some intentionally funny moments, too, of course.
I saw it as M Night Shymalan making an unpretentious B Movie that happens to have a budget..and I was entertained
I thought this movie was going to be a slasher film at a concert and when it showed that girls were bullying his daughter, I thought he was going to kill them and that his victims were actually his daughters’ bullies that he was killing and I’m disappointed that’s not what it was.

Nice one!) What I didn’t mention was that.. I continued to watch the film under this assumption and up until the VERY end (scene w the wife) I was convinced I was right 😭
I once read a novel where the twist was the daughter was a killer too! She knew her dad was kidnapping people, chaining them in the basement, and torturing and murdering them. She’d go talk to them and refuse to get help as they begged for mercy. Then later when he’s been caught, she took over his, uh, hobby.
I think that was “Mr. Brooks”. It was really good.

They do use the asthma thing actually. Sorry for the bad english love your Chanel!
Shyamalan really said “Your sister just made a movie. Now you’re gonna star in one of mine.”
When I saw the trailer for this movie first I thought the big twist was going to be that the real killer was the daughter and the dad was just covering for her. Guess I gave the S man too much credit lol.
Jonathan Langdon's (Jamie) wife taught my theatre class for a year! She directed the last show I ever did in high school. He used to come by and crash our improv troop practices, super great guy!
The most unrealistic part of this movie was leaving a large stadium concert and arriving home in daylight.
The only explanation for the timeline was this was a 12 hour concert that started at 7pm lmao
I gotta be honest I had a blast with this movie it was a lot of fun💀. I was thoroughly entertained and our lead Josh Hartnett was great. It’s an M Night movie so I’m not gonna argue with anyone who disliked this movie bc this man’s movies are pretty much love or hate no where in between😂.
i took my mom and we both had a blast! i don’t go to m night movies for a rock solid plot, i go in with adequate expectations and once you’re there it’s fun as hell!
In fact, it can be interesting to argue with them, because their mistakes regarding the events of the film and the fact that they watched the film VERY inattentively come out immediately. Besides, they only focus on the form, because they don’t see the essence)

I honestly didn't know it was intended to be a twist that he was the killer. I already got that impression from the trailer.
It was nice of the cops to put his shirt back on and button it up so he had some place to hide the bicycle spoke.
"Stop giving crime advice" was something I didn't expect to hear today. XD
@@AmandaTheJediyeah that would’ve been way more interesting than the “people who think they’re whole” monologue
Everyone knows Shyamalan transitioned to comedy years ago. That's his plot twist.
Guy's the Agent 47 of serial killers.
When I originally saw the trailer I thought it was like the audience was "trapped" with the serial killer somehow and he would start killing people during the concert
I LOVE Josh Hartnett, and am REALLY looking forward to seeing this!! May even go to the theater & see it, if it’s still there.
This is what I think about Doctor Who lol, he once had an affair with Lady Luck and he's been blessed ever since (usually).
16:42 thank you for reminding me that I need to take my daily inhaler
05:03 when the new music and intro for „that was crime advice with Amanda“ 😂
The most common thing I hear over my dad’s radio is “difficulty breathing.” He’s made soooo many medical calls. they absolutely would’ve notified the fire department ‘cause of possible medical emergencies caused by their sting operation.

"How to do a nepotism" with M Night Shyamalan.
I loved this movie. Josh Hartnett was terrific. We need more Josh Hartnett!
Fortunately, a continuation of Cooper's story is planned for development. Shyamalan is writing a new script. It's even better that finally his films will not be watched by viewers who finally saw that they don't like his fairy tale style in a modern setting) Very indicative in this regard is the analysis of the comparison of the interest of the audience of "The Trap" in the USA and in Europe. Why watch films by a director you don't like and get upset after that?) Well, maybe for some hate reviews, funny things invented in them and memes, allowing to increase the channel's audience ;)
I loved it! Saw it with my 18 year old that I took to a huge concert 5 years ago. So it was nostalgic and a hoot
I guess only people of a certain age realize this movie is a hoot😁 M Night himself said it was funny and playful take on the serial killer genre. What she is mocking and laughing about is what makes the movie so much fun!

Plot twist: the entire movie was a viral marketing campaign for Shyamalan's upcoming line of Escanso canola oil.
I guess it required suspension of disbelief, but my whole group had an amazing time with Trap. It was just a ridiculous good time. Always love your breakdowns!
Movie was really crispy.
Extra fried!)
The majority of viewers will be those who like the style of his films and haters for the sake of hate, plus reviewers who raise views and subscriptions on hate reviews, but there are not many of them)
As the father of an almost teenage girl. The biggest lie in this movie is that little girls don’t want to go under stages; via lists, with their dads and look for “costumes.”
She found it strange that her dad was going to climb in there like a schoolboy) Especially when he suggested it to her in the style of a conversation of a younger schoolboy ;)
