Been using D5 almost from the beginning, one thing i wish i did was buying the pro from the get go, from an interior designer, use D5 for both (interior and exterior) and you would save a lot of time and money and effort with some great results that could be even more professional than other big render engines, if you get all the tips and tricks of d5 render
They really are taking huge leaps with each update! but most importantly you also have to check witch one is your computer more compatible with! D5 can also be very computer intensive
@@ShowItBetter I'm good with computer power since I make my living from arch. visualization :D but it's still 2yr old top-tier configuration, maybe it's time for updating to stay in the flow :)
Good thing about D5 is you can learn it within a day of exploring on it and master it in just 1 week. Happened to me and my boss was amazed when I presented him a high quality video. I use Max/corona as my workflow and final output but now I only use it as part of the workflow and the final with D5.
I have been using enscape for a long time before this, slowly migrating to Unreal engine, but with the 2.5 versio of D5 I switched to it and not thinking of going back to enscape.
Please refrain from saying that something is easy. In reality, nothing truly is. When we present our work as effortless, it can create the impression or belief that our profession is not challenging, which might lead clients to undervalue it.
You've raised an interesting point. It's essential not to oversimplify the challenges in architecture. While we might say something is "easy" in tutorials to make it approachable, we should be aware that behind that simplicity lies a lot of hard work and skill. It's a fine line to walk between accessibility and not downplaying the complexity of our profession. Thanks for highlighting this concern
Appreciate it. This is a lesson I've learned over the course of my career. Even some of my long-standing and loyal clients have shared with me that when they made requests or asked for edits, I used to respond with, "Yes, of course, that's easy." Their response has often been, "Please avoid saying it's easy because I'd like to compensate you fairly."@@ShowItBetter
I`ve been usng Revit - 3DSMAX - Corona workflow to work with architecture projects and I just cant be fast enough to make it work. Anyone changed from 3DS+Corona to D5?
Have few question in mind, maybe you know 1. how to scatter local assets ?? 2. Make categories of local assets. 3. I have interior parallax purchase of wparallax in 3ds max, can i import them as parallax in D5 and save in local library. 4. If possible, can i add local png to add as decal asset. 5. Why your hair are white at such young age.😬😬
1. Can't 2. Create folders for each category 3. I think you would have to do some tricks to make it work 4. Yes, just load a decal and then replace the texture Really nice flow on the video @ShowItBetter congrats!
Thanks for helping me out Nuno! glad you could jump in. Maybe I can answer question number 5 lol 5. Genetics? I don't know I guess human bodies start showing their age? haha
Even I consider myself as someone who does not like your renders, I really like what you did there, nice video. Clean, fast , straightforward. Also I had to point out, that D5 can do much more then just elementary stuff. I do usually Blend method now, ( photo of the building site from POV) which ill use behind my model, and everything else is added to blur the line between my model and background photo.. 2mil trees scaled to 1/7 placed as small bushes and D5 hold it up as a king. Also, i wonder, what is name of that monitor? Link does not work. and im looking for some colour acurate 2nd. screen
Hey Mike thanks for the comment! I have 2 lg 24inch monitors, they are pretty basic and low pricing, but handle well the color accuracy. I'll try to update the links in a bit! Also I'm curious, why do you typically not like the renders? what could I improve?
@@ShowItBetter Hi, about renders, they seem to me quite basic. My main focus being you would be on attention to detail and materials. Try to play with materials, use Quixel tools to create textures and add some of their fancy decals on top of them. And mainly what hurts me most, is the auto-grass. You can create a top looking grass in D5 using scatter tool in just few clicks. Yes, its skill on its own knowing how to scale and colour grade each of the plants. and what plants to use in what density in what environment. But is worth the little effort. (Spoiler, its hardware heavy, but if you are making a career on this, you shall have a beats pc already) .. So to sum it up, is D5 library materials + lack of decals (there is never a enough of decals :D , they have their spot almost on every surface, , glass, walls, floors, metals, objects etc..) and lastly and most importantly the grass shortcut. Overall Im glad you are doing a job im lazy to do. Teach people how to do better. Since sometimes seeing a skp screenshot presented on socials or to client hurts people like us. So thanks for that, also if you feel like, go check my work, and criticize me back. Its a nice way to improve itself, even if you sometimes dont agree with the opposer.
@@ShowItBetter Also I had to point it, your renders arent bad, they are great and better then most of visualisers, but there is always a space to improve. I bet you saw dozens of renders, and even on the best one, you could spot sometimes a mistake or spot to improve even more.
@@MarshallTurner-ds8du not my taste, I rather style of videos by William Faucherm but this channel aint bad. Its just renders are not on quality I need. Hello, I'm thinking of switching from Lumion to D5. However, I'm worried about my laptop's performance as I use a 10th Gen core i7 laptop with an 2070 with Max Q RtX Gpu of 8GB.Can it run D5?
well I would recommend for you to check out the computer requirements section in the D5 page, usually a laptop struggles a bit more. For a bit of reference, my laptop has a 3080ti and it struggled a bit on this project.
I've been using d5 pro for a while, they doing huge improvements each update, but there is one important feature still missing - uvw randomizer. Every time the textures look repetitive when it comes to texturing massive objects in scene. Well, I hope they'll add it asap🥲

wow Thanks for this! it really sheds some light. What features do you think D5 has an advantage of from other render engines from your point of view?
That's it...this video just convinced me to make the switch to D5 Render.

lumion for sculpting terrain .

Thanks Brando! More videos on D5 for sure coming up
Absolutely insane. This is a sign that i need a new computer to run those things...

can you try the same to achieve similar results with lumion?
for sure! Lumion is good for some things too
Let's make it with Twinmotion, pls
do you mean the same image?

What is the best frame rate for walkthrough... 30 fps feel choppy
well I always render it at 30 fps, but if it feels to choppy for you then 60 fps can also work

Is D5 suitable for interiors?
for sure! it's really good as well!

you can visit their website!
Can I get this sketch up file?
sorry! this one is not available for downloads :)
