This program truly seems to listen to what users need and brings it to reality. In a short time, it surpassed almost all rendering engines in terms of visual quality, simplicity, design, and speed
Exactly! Every new update has features asked by the community. And more and more I'm seeing people migrate to D5 to use it as their primary rendering engine. It's great to have more competition in this field, a win-win for everyone!
Honestly from someone who switched from Enscape to D5 just days ago. I feel like I've been in an abusive relationship and just got out. D5 is miles ahead of Enscape in everything. The rounded edges options save soo much time. Don't get me started on lighting control, it makes a world of a difference. I really do hope we'll get surface imperfections in the future. As of now i actually think it works pretty decent on AO. Ironically I get ads from Enscape throughout this video =D
Hey Alex! Thanks for sharing your experience, totally get what you mean about that switch! D5 really does bring a lot more control and flexibility. I feel it's a good mix between ease of use while still allowing us to go more advanced with some things. And yes, surface imperfections would be a game-changer! I really hope it comes out soon!
13:42 I already asked for it on the forum, but I really hope they incorporate an undo function for everything you're doing, inclusing brushing. Instead of erasing it would be very handy to just undo the last brush... :)
Totally! It would be even better if you could paint where you want the scatter or brush to be, and then have the ability to set up individual parameters after the "paint" has been applied. So that we don't have to go back and forth between finding the assets, density, or scale and then applying over and over again. Hopefully, they implement more features onto scatter and brushes soon!
I did same with the museum of materiasl, I went in there and copied the ones i lie to local lol. that way i can just modify colros etc. Its a good starting point and some of them are set up real nice
Thanks! In this particular model I mixed a layer of real trees closer to the house. But to completely fill the background and not show any parts of sky, I also used a landscape object from D5. It’s in the library and already comes as a 2d image and curved, so you can place it around your project.
hi nice contentttt! btw can you make tutorial for us how to make animation in small space?because sketchup section cut cant detect on d5 render.Thank you!
Hi, Oliver! This is completely unrelated to this video but this was the only way I knew to ask you.. I’ve just recently signed up on your website and from what my friends told me, your courses are great so I decided to purchase the bundle for all of them.. unknowingly, there was a coupon code sent to my email for 15% off. Is there anything I can do now to still get that discount?
Hey @GlucoseOnYT no worries! The best place to talk directly to me regarding courses is through email (you can find the email in the video description) or instagram DM. Because even though I try to get to every comment, sometimes it’s not always possible and I may miss a few. So, first of all, I’m happy to know you enrolled on the bundle based on your friends recommendation! I hope you also find the courses valuable! Now, website sign up has a welcome email series for new users that offers a 15% discount code for new purchases only on individual courses (not bundles) and only for your first purchase. Our course bundle has already a 10% discount. So they are not stackable. However, send me a message on private (email or DM) and I’ll see what I can do for you! We don’t do many coupons, but we offer a discount for students in developing countries or that need a financial aid to get the courses.
@@LearnUpstairs Thanks so much for the reply. I haven’t started on any of them yet but I’m definitely looking forward to it! About the discount, I totally understand. I appreciate that you’re taking the time to clarify it for me and I’ll be sure to contact you further via email next time if I have any more questions. I apologise for any inconveniences by contacting you here.
I often use Poliigon for paid PBR materials and Quixel for free ones. And yes, there’s the option to batch import the channels into a material,… there’s a button that does exactly that in D5. But to be honest, I prefer to manually add them channel, so that I already set them up exactly how I need them.

I need help. I just switched from Lumion to D5 and I’m really struggling. Two things, I can’t get the grass to look right no matter what I do. I’ve tried the scatter tool and it doesn’t look good. Also, my viewport looks really low quality for some reason. I can’t figure out why. Everything was so easy Lumion. Not sure what I’m doing wrong.
@@benjackson103 Hey! The scatter tool can be really powerful, but it requires a lot of tweaking to get it right. Especially with the individual asset collision slider and scale. Have you tried using some of D5’s grass presets? And regarding the viewport, that’s odd… but have you switched to Precise mode? Shortcut F1. Migrating software is always a hassle… but you need to push past this initial learning phase. Both D5 and Lumion are fantastic engines! They each have its strengths and compromises.
One question regarding Queing up renders. Is it faster to do a que render since its not hogging the visual graphics to render. I also found out that if you minimize D5 and then click render it significantly reduces render times.
Really? That's interesting to know about minimizing! Regarding the queue, I haven't noticed being slower. Maybe because render times for me have always maxed around 5 minutes on a really complex and large scene. So anything faster than that wasn't too noticeable. But I'll make sure to put it to the test in the future!
@@LearnUpstairs Thank you for reply, Yea i started noticing it when i was doing animations for big scenes. I accidently shrunk the D5 window and the renddering times where pretty quick for animations . I tried it with Images and it again was fairly quicker. this is on a 6700xt Radeon card which is not the best. My guess is when you minimise or use render que your not using the full Viewport so D5 isnt double working. So it processes the images faster and animations. Good tip for those of us with crappy computers haha
@@RAJABUKANDURU hey! Have you connected your Archicad model with the sync plugin? If yes, then it’s just a matter of updating that connection with the plugin. If not, then you’ll need to find the imported model on the object list on the bottom left of your screen. Then right click on it, and find the option to replace.

I can t find the D5 render asset anywhere. are you supposed to download materials or the program has already a library on its own?
I think D5 is to Expensive yet for the beginners, R$150 é bastante por mês
Vs. Lumion?
consigo usar o d5 com um nvidia gtx geforce?
Depende do modelo eu acho! Mas vale a pena conferir o site deles na parte de system requirements: www.d5render.com/specs
