I’m surprised Eric didn’t talk about Brad and Kyle Busch’s on track incident after the race. Also Erik Jones deserves a lot of credit for bringing a RPM car to a top 10 finish at Martinsville.

I love Martinsville. Hamlin: He had one opportunity to beat me and he took it. Hamlin in 2018 on wrecking Elliott: We had one opportunity to win and lock ourselves into Homestead. LMAO. I guess Hamlin forgot.

Lets be honest though and Junior said it on the TV. When Bowman got into Hamlin the first time, you could see Hamlin was about to dive in there hard and wipe Bowman out. Bowman could see it as well and moved up the track and gave the position back. A smart move and one that allowed him to go on and win the race.
I was at this race and I went through all five stages of grief multiple times

Can we talk about how both Kyle Busch and Brad Keselowski somehow managed to take cars only capable of 10th-15th and raced for the win at the end? I'm a big KB fan, and don't like Brad, but man, I gotta give Brad credit. When they both get on the wheel, the things those two can accomplish is insane against all odds.

its all tires and position at the end. if you somehow played your cards right. and were decent and had fresher tires. your gonna be way faster that better cars that have older tires
hope brad can still show up in the 6....but youre right. the 2 team struggled all year and still almost fought their way into the championship 4....incredible effort. proud to be a fan....also have to admit i dont mind kyle as much as i used to. and i agree that theyre both elite. and they seem to keep their rivalry clean now.

I am not much of a Brad-K fan either but the guy is a hell of a driver. He is almost wizard like when he absolutely has to be.

#1 Bowman DID wreck Hamlin, literally at this exact race
#2 Chase Elliott already got revenge on Hamlin for that, plus it was literally 4 years ago and salty Chase fans need to stop crying over it
HMS has won about 40% of the races this year in the Cup series. Crazy
The had the better cars at the start and most teams are working on next gen not the gen 6 but still crazy

They also lead the field in failed inspections by a huge margin, probably no correlation there

Hey Eric, I remember in the Weekly Podcast, you and the guys were talking about how unnoticed Bowman was
Well besides his wins he is pretty bland and forgettable. I like most of the drivers including bowman but he doesn’t have much of a personality and he does get beat by his team mates a lot of the time and didn’t start getting wins until somewhat recently.
I forget who, but one of them voted Alex Bowman to suck in this race

Any year without a playoffs or chase nonsense a guy like Bowman getting 4 wins would be huge within the sport and huge for his career, huge for potential sponsors. But it means so much less if you don't have that championship eligible banner on your car because if not the broadcast don't give a shit.

I despise the playoff system for the reason you stayed and also for the fact that as of yesterday someone like logano or Busch could have had the season they have had and beat someone like Larson to the title. I know before you could win the title with no wins and that’s ok but this is the only garbage format that lets someone have a mediocre forgettable season and still have a chance to beat someone with 9 wins and top five runs almost weekly. I 100% disagree with your take on the Hamlin incident. He has proved time and time again he only complains when he is done wrong by his own moves. Intentional or not, he said “that’s short track racing” being clean and not making mistakes kind of leaves the room at these races. Bowman raced him hard, as he races everyone else hard, and got bit. Dennys actions should award him a hefty fine at the least for endangering the camera crew going out and safety crew trying to end the race.
You are right nasscar went after the 00 yesterday, kyle Bush few weeks ago and Kevin Harvick at Darlington when he got out of his car and it ran down Pit Road when he was going after Kyle Busch

for sure Alex "The Hack" Bowman is about to give Denny nighmares when he wins a cup before Denny just as Brad Keselowski did after Denny spoke ill of his driving in Xfinity lol. Honestly Denny is such a hypoctite and his words are truly a projection of 2017 when his teammates were dominant and he was winless. He's a bully who is insecure and wanted to make Bowman feel the same way he felt when he was getting his ass kicked by his teammates. Anybody who knows a thing or two about psychology can see it clear how insecure Denny is and just projects it onto others. Has bowman been as consistent as the other HMS drivers? No but he's had a damn good year, and I think he's well on his way to a long successful career. I hope Ally becomes as fond of him as FedEx became of Denny so he doesn't have to worry about job security.

He had more than one coming from Hendrick because the way he got the lead was to run Chase up out of the groove because he can't pass anybody legitimately Denny is known as the choker or or has to wreck you to win

Exactly, I remember 2016 fall Martinsville race fondly, Hamlin takes out Jimmie for little to no reason. Luckily Jimmie pulls a classic Jimmie Johnson fashion move, and gets back to him, passes him clean, then wins the race, than the championship.
And the guys he's crashed were crying over it aswell right? I remember Chase having twice the tantrum when he wrecked than Hamlin had tonight.
just like Bowman said, Hamlin has knocked people out of the way to win in the past and will do it again in the future. its always okay when they do it to other people but not when its done to them. and then other drivers make fun of them for complaining about it happening, but cry about it themselves when it happens to them.

I was kind of really upset by the whole burnout thing Hamlin did. Still really am. Bowman would never do such a classless thing. Bowman won double the amount of races Hamlin has this year. I saw more maturity out of our Xfinity drivers this weekend and Noah chugged a beer at the start/finish line.

can we talk about erik jones? making miracles happen in the petty machine. imagine if he could bring petty a cup? im slowly starting to lean toward erik jones as one of my favorites. i used to totally dismiss him in gibbs equipment. now he has all my respect.

Erik Jones is another driver that got screwed over by jgr rushing younger talent up into cup too quick and not giving them time to grow and learn. He clearly has talent as he’s a former truck champion and he got into nascar by beating Kyle Busch one of the greatest of all time. Maybe with the next gen car evening out the competition more next season Jones can show everyone he wasn’t a bust.
Say what you want about Kyle Busch, but he KFB’d it those final 50 laps or so with the car he had.

Hamlin seems to forget the time he dumped Elliott a couple years ago at Martinsville. And as far as a hack ,Bowman has won more races this year than Hamlin this year and won as many championships as Hamlin. I also remember Hamlin saying Keselowski would never be anything better than an Xfinity driver when he was coming up yet he has a Cup championship. He did however hire a hack to drive the 23 car.
I don’t care what people on the internet say, I love nascar’s playoff format and races like this are why.
I would keep the playoffs, but tweak it (and call it the chase again), so that the drivers who get into the chase are the top 16 in points at the end of the regular season. Also let them keep their regular season points (and the points they get from each round) through the final race; aka don’t do what they are doing now. Otherwise I would be fine with the playoffs (like when they first started).

@Googlesucks I think they should let the playoff points earned in the round of 8 count for the final race. Like the playoff points earned up to the round of 8 count for that round. Then the final round of 3 playoff points are for the championship finale. Make the semi final rounds of racing mean a little bit more
@@benwalter4842 this format is better because it causes more chaos nobody wants to watch a nascar race with the usual racers in the playoffs, but we can't take wins away and just focused on points it isn't 2010 anymore.

That was an exciting race. For the last 50 laps, I was so tense that I was shaking. I like Bowman, good for him. If I could, I would get rid of both Hamlin and Harvick. They are just spoiled babies a lot of the time. Build a bridge and get over it, guys.

Nascar needs every second of this. People become hypocritical quickly. People don’t want non playoff drivers to just give up but when they race hard they are given grief.
What a fantastic race weekend. All of them. Despite the Truck race being pretty messy. Despite the drama and the high entertainment factor, one thing fans can't complain about is the championship 4 we got. All 4 deserved it: 9 wins, the reigning champ, the most consistent guy all year and the king of the 750 pkg/most recent Phoenix winner. Next weekend is going to be fun.

Great NASCAR race at Martinsville Va. Especially the last 110 laps. Brad Keselowski drove the wheels off that #2 Ford, incredible driving. He couldn't have gotten more out of that race car. It appeared the last two restarts, his car/tires had nothing left.
Props to Brad and Chase. Brad admitted he made a mistake and Chase knew Brad made a mistake and wasn’t too upset.

I really wish that on the last race before Phoenix , they have a wild card spot for a driver that was knocked out during one elimination rounds, that if they win martinsville ( or whatever the last race before is) they become the 5th spot. But ONLY if they win !
As a Bowman fan and being at the track it was an absolutely awesome race! Haha

If anyone is a “hack” it’s Hamlin! He’s dumped far more drivers than Alex Bowman and of course it’s never his fault. Alex has more wins than Denny does this year even without this one. All Denny does is whine and complain. He’s almost as bad at that than Kyle Bush.

Bowman honestly kinda is a hack and I disagree with very little of what Hamlin said. The guy has a 15th place average finish at HMS this season and has less top 10’s than Hamlin and Larson have top 5’s. That’s honestly embarrassing coming from the best team in NASCAR right now and he’s basically undeserving of that 48 seat as is now.

Denny ran shot on Chase at Martinsville when Chase was leading and was about to win his first race. Dummy got ran into and didn't win either.
