This honestly might just be as bad if not worse than the JGR fiasco. At the very least Joe Gibbs wasn’t calling anyone dumb, or the drivers weren’t at each other’s throats. Brandon Jones literally got dumped by Ty Gibbs and showed so much class, Hill got raced okay by Creed (not sure if Creed brake-checked him in 3 or was trying to save it) and whined, as well as Petree, and Richard. No wonder Creed is leaving, who the hell wants a team environment like that?
I can't blame Richard for being pissed if both drivers didn't make it to the championship. But I do think he shouldn't have insulted him publicly
Couldn't have said it better myself
Why would creed break check in the final corner on the final lap with his final chance in front of him 😂
Sounds like Creed made the right call to leave RCR.
@@kjprodouctions9050 well than maybe Richard should have been keeping track of things and relaying to the teams... this would have been a EASY 1-2 finish if Hill wasn't an asshole....and if the teams would have been on top of things... so it must not have been that important to Richard as HE dropped the ball.. and based on his reaction, it makes me happy... he and RCR don't deserve to have cars in the final 4... I bet Creed is counting his blessings escaping that toxic environment... and I guess Andy Petree showed is true colors too... what a jerk...
The fact that Hill doored Creed off the rip and Creed is getting yelled at tells you all you need to know about RCR. Good for Creed on leaving.
What a pitiful situation at RCR. Glad Sheldon is out the door. Nobody needs to work in what is clearly a toxic environment. What RC said was uncalled for and borderline hideous. Sheldon raced his heart out for the win and did nothing wrong in the process. Feel bad for Jesse Love. Kids got to be wondering what the hell did he just get himself into.
@freddaigle170,,,, I totally agree with you on Jesse Love,,,, this young man is a great driver,,,,, hope he doesn't get trampled with all the bulls--t going on in the Childress compound!!¡!
Not a fan of RC calling out his own driver. What was he supposed to do, lie down and let a championship 4 spot slip away? I don’t blame him for going after it. Childress getting so snippy with Creed is just downright unprofessional.
Exactly if it was his grandsons or Dale Sr he wouldn't have said a damn thing
Yep!
Does anybody wonder why he's leaving? Seems pretty toxic in RCR land.
You get your two cars knocked out of the stupid chace crap format and let us see you be professional lol. Giving everyone ice cream.
@@Lancr-jq2or I don’t think anyone is saying RC doesn’t have the right to be angry. He absolutely does. But what does he benefit from airing his frustrations and insulting his driver to the media?
Richard has bullied before, and Creed didn't even do anything wrong...
He always been that way outside of the be owner that runs multi car teams but chooses 1 over the other which is why he had to hire a driver on the bad nine of his career to help his team be relevant again.
Bully but let’s his grand kids run cup cars that aren’t worth a damn and disgrace the number 3
Harvick, Reddick and now Creed. All toxic departures from RCR. Says a lot about the environment there.
I find it pathetic that Childress is mad at 2 drivers that were driving like the guy that made him all his money in the first place if Dale was still alive we all know he wouldn’t put up with this bullshit
*Skinner Green Robby Gordon Harvick Menard Reddick and now Creed
@@RayJProductions97 I mean, I feel like at that point you know the final app of the last race before the final four all those playoff drivers that knew they needed to win we’re gonna be racing hard even if it was against their teammate and that moment in their mind, there’s no friends here and I gotta do what I gotta do to win that’s within the rules and what not that’s what this was a case of here. It was very unprofessional of him to say Sheldon Creed is stupid or you know, however he said it specially to the media you could say that to yourself but that’s not a good look in my mind doesn’t make people want to come for you
@@masoneveridge4078Harvick and Reddick have said they’re on good terms with RCR. And nobody liked Robby Gordon anyway.
@@JimmyDean59I did
I wish Creed nothing but success at JGR next year.
I'm with Creed here, hill raced Creed hard, Creed gave it back. He was still in it for a championship too, why lay over for a teammate, a teammate that already hates you lol.
This is how I see it the final lap of a playoff race you have no friends or teammates because everybody’s gonna be racing hard to get that win especially guys that had to win to make the final four
Honestly, leaving RCR seems like the best thing Creed could do, because they did him dirty. He had every right to go for it, and Hill raced him just as hard. Childress wonders why his team can’t find its ass with both hands and a map, and then goes and trash talks his drivers for doing what they need to do. I can’t help but think the best thing for RCR is for Childress to retire and let Austin Dillon take over the business. Until they fix their culture, they’re going to forever be a B-list team.
I'd actually like to see Austin Dillon run a race team, that would be pretty neat to see
As much as I like Richard, I totally agree. I honestly think Austin would do a great job leading the team. I mean, look at where KB is at because of it! He may not be the best driver, but the dude is smart.
A job or title for Austin would bea great move.#3 car and team could use another example Harvick style driver. Richard has being a multi team owner, for as long as he has really dropped the ball.He has two drivers with championship goals. To think as his remark he can't handle the pressure of two driver/teams any more thoroughly disappointed in Richards decision.Shocking to say the least.
Austin Dillon please take over
Get out of the car
Petree what bull shit are you serving
RC 30 minutes red flag yo set strategy you did not so whose stupid
Creed ho win next weeks race snd move on of course Rc might park you not to see you win
Busch us hall of fame driver what type of cars you giving him ?
Austin Dillon tske charge
Pa pa go sit down your making a fool of your self
@@CorgiButtOnWheelsAustin also manages AJ and JHN, who got opportunities of a life time at Kaulig and JGR.
Another heartbreaking finish for Creed. Loved seeing Allgaier and the mayo car win but felt bad for Creed. I don't see anything wrong with it. Creed did what he had to do to get a win and nearly got it.
IMO he 100% brake checked the 21 in 3-4 which got bill wrecked and him 2nd place. Creed threw a fit a fucked them both over.
@@kyle57688you say that as though Sheldon did it intentionally
@kyle57688 the dude would not intentionally slam on the breaks on the last lap in the last corner running in 1st going for his 1st win and a shot at a championship just to wreck a teammate.i agree he slowed down but I'm sure it's because he over drove the corner and had to to turn and make it
He overdrove the corner because Hill slammed him going into 3
So Kyle here is a dumbass for not seeing the true story here the team is getting screwed because Richard is playing favorites and has since he hired Skinner in ‘97
i think it says something about RCR as a whole when ty dillon willingly chooses not to drive for them even those he absolutely can given his family’s name
damn who let you cook
Rare dennydelivers W
Where did you get that bad information. There is no Cup seat available for Ty Dillion at RCR, but every ride he does get come with direct access to RCR. In other words, that's what he brings to his rides he does get.
@@johnlafever3162Having access and being in the garage with them are two different things.
@@garyjackson3531 no shit Sherlock! So his point of Ty "chooses" to not drive for RCR, is a bold faced lie! He doesn't chose not to, there is no room for him, not enough funds, but my point is "the friggin connection is still there" as he brings with him direct access for his team to whatever they need technical help with.
Maybe VP of Competition, Andy Petree shares some, if not all the blame for no cars in the final race by not keeping both teams aware of the points situation and formulating a strategy that would ensure both would get in.Especially when both re-start on the front row.
Eddie DeHondt (7 car spotter) predicted the end perfectly. The front two ALWAYS end up trying to take each other out somehow if they can.
2nd place would’ve been a win for Hill.
@@Mike-qu8bh yeah there’s definitely some poor communication on that part people that have been there a while know everyone’s gonna be racing hard on the final app especially the playoff guys that they have to win to get in it. It’s the final lap there’s not gonna be any friends here everyone’s gonna be doing everything they can within reason to win
True
And if they had done that, NASCAR fines and penalizes both teams for manipulating the chase. All they could have done (and should have done) is make sure both drivers are aware of their own points situation. Maybe then Hill gives a little more and is happy with second.
Eric, thank you so much for doing this extra Saturday night edition. Really appreciate your perspective on this race!
I don't think Creed did anything wrong. He was trying to get into the Championship 4! It wasn't blatant or anything. Seems like some toxicity and favoritism at RCR (shocked, not shocked).
Yep. Ask Mike Skinner. Ask Jeff Green ‼️He was fired the next day after his favoritism comment.
I'm pretty hard on drivers not driving clean, and there were a few moves he made that were borderline, maybe over my line, but come on, it's the Championship 4 and a must win situation, of course he's gonna drive hard.
@@dharley189Ask Harvick as well. Favoritism is a huge part of RCR. Toxic environment if you aren't the chosen one.
Rcr blaming creed when it's 100% hills and the 21 teams fault. If hill doesn't doorslam creed in retaliation, I think creed makes the corner, or at least doesn't blow it as bad. Also if hills team had been able to tell him the points situation, that would've also helped. Richard Childress's response was 100% him throwing a tantrum, I think a lot of people lost respect for him about his comments about creed.
Creed brakes checked the 21 in 3 and 4 which is he lost and why Austin wrecked. Boneheaded ass move. Comments in the media unacceptable though.
@@kyle57688he didn’t brake check the 21, he let off the throttle to not push into the wall on exit
Creed was overshooting the turn the same amount no matter hill hit him or what this wouldn't be a conversation it was all fair for Martinsville til Creed missed turn 3 and caused hill to pile into him
@@kyle57688 I mean, we don't have the SMT data yet to confirm, but I highly doubt he brake-checked Hill. I LIKE Hill and still don't see why Creed would set himself up to fail by being petty in turn 4. I think the door-slam by hill probably caused him to overshoot worse than he would've, he was in the moment, had a nee-jerk reaction to get himself back to his line and just overshot his expectation and slowed down too much. Based on how he acted after the fact, and the fact he'd raced him REALLY respectfully (All things considered, of course), no. I don't believe Creed brake-checked Hill. Hill has sort of changed his tune a bit now which I can appreciate, but both the way he, RC, and Peetree acted were super unprofessional. And I'm both an HMS and RCR fan. So no bias there. (I also can't stand JGR).
@@kyle57688 when he's literally rubbing his tire on the well since Hill door slammed the shit out of him lol. Go shove your quarter panel into your tire and try and turn HAHAHAHAHA, Hills fault all the way.
Love how Richard and Austin act like creed was just one-sidedly bullying Austin. If Hill doesnt door him a bunch of times they would both move on. And then went and whined about how "he didnt let me win"
It's one thing when drivers throw insults at each other. But in my opinion, team owners need to keep feelings like this behind closed doors. They should be leaders. Not 💩-talkers...
Also, ironic Richard calls Creed "stupid" yet his precious grandson has yet to become a championship contender, or improve at all in Cup year after year...
What does that last part have to do with Austin Dillon lol
@@CaptainDertythe fact that AD has been around for years in 1 tier or 2 tier equipment and cant do shit with it. Both Reddick and Busch have won multiple races since the next-gen car, the car that was supposed to even the playing field. And before you tear me apart for the next-gen stuff... where was he before 2022 and the new car?
I believe I saw Kevin Harvick state that the reason he left RCR was because of the treatment he knew children's grandson was going to get and that he saw no future in that team and that's from a champion something the three car by Dylan has yet to achieve I doubt he will he's probably cuz he's stupid😂
Dillon is far from stupid if he was Busch wouldn’t be at the team
I completely agree he should’ve kept his comments to himself not blasted them to the media. That’s a bad look on you and wouldn’t make me want to go drive for you if I were a driver. Some things are better left unsaid plus I mean it was the last step of very important race. I feel like all the playoff drivers, especially had the mindset. I have no friends right now and did everything we do anything within reason to win and I don’t think Creed intentionally did anything why would he do, something that would risk his race as well
I have never had any reason to pull for Creed. But I have not had a very positive outlook on Hill since he came into the Xfinity scene. Tonight solidifies the kind of person & driver Austin Hill is. Very disappointed with that whole RCR crew. And Andy Petree? Come on.. I think some people forget this is the last development series to get into the top level.. they are not perfect by any means. But, for a seasoned veteran like Andy to come after a guy like that.. he can do better. I stand firmly with Sheldon Creed tonight. He has obviously made the correct decision to jump ship and rebuild elsewhere.
And yet people until now have said Hill is AMAZING!!!! He is an amazing driver! SO CALM!
🎉greed a good driver shame shame andy on you an Richard
I never thought I'd see the day that CHILDRESS is a crybaby, but after hearing Harvick's constant fighting with him when he was with him, I can only imagine how it went back then
JRM’s 2023 season doesn’t look so bad now
Eight wins baby! Four by Sam Mayer, and four by Justin Allgaier
Yeah but we seen time again that JRM doesn't win the championship even though they have more than one car in the championship race. I got a feeling Custer or Nemechek will take it.
@@JustGenius2001 I feel Custer has got it . SHRthis year. Be interesting to see how they start to rebuild.
@@mesquitegirl2013 Well, I hope that I'm proven wrong and one of the JRM cars take it.
It's such a disgrace for the car owner to insult his own driver. If Creed is not racing at Phoenix, I won't be surprised if Austin Dillon drives the 2 car.
Cup drivers can't drive in the playoffs I believe. It would have to be someone else
Maybe love will run it
If Creed doesn’t race this week it will confirm what we all already know - RCR is a toxic mess.
Well I mean Creed did stand his ground so good for him
If this is true Richard then you owe this young man an apology. Creed raced cleaner than the competition.
This is just embarrassing for RCR. He’s so much less mature than Creed, who’s 1/3 his age. Sheldon was so respectful. Hill was a douchebag in the interview.
It’s a good ol’ boys club of toxicity, glad Creed and Reddick are out of there.
Honestly the young guys are so much more mature than the older guys. Respect is earned not given
I sure hope this is a females comment...

I like Hill but he is wrong in this instance and is often a whiny baby.
They called Creed dumb??? Creed was the only intelligent person speaking last night and Hill sent out a message retracting his statement. RCR was long ago a great race team and if i was a potential sponsor for the 2 team i would think twice before putting dollars into it. Clearly they only wanted Hill in and didn’t want Creed. It’s racing go for the win. RCR is a sad organization period.
Racing ain't for sissies
Watching the replay a few times I think the wreck started when Hill doored Creed on the backstretch. That is likely what messed up Creed's final turn causing him to wash high and slow down. Without Austin doing that door Slam they probably finish 1st & 2nd. In my opinion it's basically Austin Hill's fault RCR doesn't have 2 playoff spots.
i have 40 years of racing experience and see it the same....
They wouldn’t have had 2 spots the transfer spot for Custer was 6th he was running in 6th when he got involved in the wreck
Richard seems to have lost very capable drivers to other teams, Harvick, Riddick, and now Creed.
"Exactly why im leaving rcr" Kevin Harvick was right all along. BTW Creed was right and Hill was just being a sore loser and was chaotic in his own will, why would he want to wreck his teamate that hasnt won in the xfinity series yet? pathetic what Hill, Andy Petree and Richard Childress have done to Creed. JGR Might actually be a more positive enviorement than RCR believe it or not.
I get Hill, sorta, but Childress and Petree were as unprofessional as it gets.
Bush league.
I mean all those drivers even the ones not in the playoffs are gonna do everything they can, but then reason to win that’s why you’re there so sometimes it’s having that mindset. I don’t have friends right now so last night those playoffs were gonna race as hard as they could within reason and if that bothers you, maybe you shouldn’t be therecause it’s gonna happen all the time, especially during the playoffs
@@garyjackson3531
And I agree they should’ve responded differently. You can be upset, but no way should you especially to the media call out a driver and call him stupid you can call him out but he should’ve left the word stupid out of it. I don’t care if a driver is leaving or not you do everything to help them and their time with you on a good note and a note
So from RCR's point of view, F the #2 team and all of the guys and girls that put everything into this team? Then F Whelen and the other sponsors, just give us your money so our precious #21 can win?? Seriously? I honestly hope that Creed's sponsors go with him. I just feel really bad for all of the #2 crew that pour their lives into getting their team a win, because apparently at the end of the day THEY don't matter and they will get dumped on by their own employer on monday. That really sucks
Well can't say you're wrong and I hope you're not right. There's bad blood now going to have to change things real fast for 2024. They should pay attention to Jr and see how he runs a team
@@charlieboy7502 So......what if you are on the #2 team as a crew member? Wouldn't you feel that Richard's stab at Sheldon was also a stab at you? I work on race cars and I know what these guys go through. I'm sure it will be a VERY quiet week while prepping the #2. I'd actually be shocked if it even passes tech. Or better yet, imagine if the #7 fails inspection and Sheldon is now in. LOL An old man would be eating a crap sandwich really quick!
So was Creed was supposed to let Hill by just because he won't be back next year? What kind of logic is that? If anything Creed was doing what he needed to be done in order to have a chance for a championship. Then again RCR does have a history of favoring driver A over driver B no matter what or whom the drivers are. Rather it's Earnhardt, Harvick, his grandson, or Hill. Even if their teammates do win, he has favoritism towards those said drivers.
@@stephenholloway6893 and what the hell was wrong with the scenario of BOTH RCR cars making it. Hill only needed a 3rd. I think Hill gassed it and hit Sheldon in turn 3 wrecking himself. And yes Sheldon over drove turn 3 BECAUSE Hill door slammed him on the entry of 3 and upsetting Sheldons car. Like duh!!! Do you need to be blind to work at RCR?
@emaildannymartin I'm just saying that it was unfair to blame Creed for what took place in the race. Nothing wrong with both of them having a chance for the championship nor did I say there was anything wrong with it. But Sheldon had to win in order for that to happen and Austin had to be close behind him to do so but it didn't happen and Creed got blamed for it when it wasn't really his fault. That's basically what my point was. That Childress and Austin used him for the reason why they won't race for the championship at Phoenix.
My respect for Richard Childress took a big hit.
My respect for him is totally gone. For a guy that seems to be nice and friendly, turns out to be a jerk in a way.
RCR showed itself as a very questionable employer to anyone getting into the sport.
He doesn't deserve respect from anyone, respect is earned not bought.
never had respect for richard.is a total asshole.
With the Hill and Creed drama taking all thw headlines, another teammate incident that also happened was the Sammy Smith, John Hunter Nemechek situation. Smith was not happy with how Nemechek raced him on the final restart. Mayhem at Martinsville all around.
Well, i cant blame sammy, nemechek was gonna race for a championship without a win since he pointed his way in during the race, at least give sammy a chance to go for it on the restart by giving him the inside on row 2 behind hill. Nemechek didnt do that and sammy didnt get a chance to fight for a final 4 spot. I understand sammy's anger 100%, nemechek has a history of making questionable on track decisions that lead to him being loathed by others off the track
He even said that John Hunter had made an enemy. These guys don't forget. Especially what happens at Martinsville. What happens at Martinsville comes back to bite you in the butt for the rest of your career. Drivers hold grudges. It makes the races a lot more interesting for the fans.
Sammy won at Phoenix at the start of the season. JH might have been thinking of the bigger picture by not helping his teammate
@@JCman8787 well when you think about it, its the exact same outcome of the ty gibbs/brandon jones incident from last year, yes circumstances between the 2 situations were very different but the same result, only 1 jgr car in the final 4 when you couldve had possibly 2 jgr cars in the final 4, the bigger picture would be to help your company and the team you race for by letting sammy go race the rcr drivers. Im not saying jhn is just as selfish as ty gibbs, but jhn's actions from the race point in that direction
This is how I see it’s the last race that gives you a chance at the final four all those playoff drivers that knew they had to win to get in probably had the mindset. I have no friends at the moment I’m gonna do everything within reason that I can do to win, you’re gonna get pissed off at somebody for racing you hard that’s what you all wanna do is win maybe you shouldn’t be in racing professionally
I feel bad for Creed. Ever since the announcement hes been the scapegoat
Don't hate the player, Richard. Hate the game. This is exactly what NASCAR wants.
It was all good for Algaier and Custer fans. This is NASCAR, I like it despite my two favorite drivers lost (Hill and Creed).
This is where I come for the nascar news, everyday after work coming home ,reliable, consistent, thank you sir!
Man something about the Virginia mountains in the fall makes things in the xfinity series go wild
Does those mountains give out a full moon effect?
Dale Earnhardt (#3) and Mike Skinner (#31) had their issues from 1997 to 2000
Yeah and Richard Childress didn't call either of them dumb. Of course neither of them were about to leave RCR either.
@@marcforget33 I agree his calling Creed stupid was uncalled for leaving or not. You should never do that that’s unprofessional and as an owner, I’d be doing everything I can to make their time with us, and on a good and high note
Darian said it on Twitter and I agree. There’s a reason talents like Harvick and Reddick left RCR
It's pretty obvious that RCR relegated Creed to second-class citizen status after deeming Hill their future Cup driver.
Which I think most people would do
They’ve done that to Harvick Green in a much worse way Menard Robby Gordon and Skinner
The difference between RCR and JRM is wild. In both situations, you have a driver leaving the team. One team has been extremely supportive of their driver and his future, even when his season hasn't been as successful as they had hoped. The other team got pissed off when their driver was racing TO REACH THE CHAMPIONSHIP RACE. Wild.
This was a horrible look for Richard Childress and Andy Petree. Their reactions make it seem that RCR cares more about playing favorites than overall organizational success. Childress is coming off as a massive hypocrite considering the guy that made his team famous used to do things way more aggressive than what creed did today
11:10 well he’s not a team owner but Helmut Marko who is the head of Red Bulls F1 driver development program has had the same attitude towards Sergio Pérez this season, like when he said that Sergio being “South American” is why he is not not doing well in F1. It’s to the point where Christian Horner and Red Bull has basically told him to shut the H up.
Marko is an idiot. Not withstanding the fact Mexico is in North America, those actually in South America, especially Brazil, make up a huge part of F1's fan base.
The Mexican Grand Prix is this weekend. The attendance was HUGE on Friday. Looked like a sellout.
The weekend for the US Grand Prix last weekend was 432,000. Mexico will be bigger. Most are Perez fans.
Yeah eventually if he doesn’t Red Bull is going to fire his ass and he’ll have as much trouble finding a job in the sport as a 16 year old looking for a part time job nowadays
Feel for Creed. The favoritism was apparent from the start. RC, the same guy who thought Brad K wrecked A. Dillion at Michigan on purpose, or Tyler Reddick at Pocono. He is straight delusional when it comes to his favorite drivers. Which is why RCR will never be what it once was. Sad.
This is not the first time that teammates in Xfinity tangled at Martinsville. 😉
Nor this time probably wouldn't be the last time either.
How I see it is, it’s the last lap of a very important race everyone’s gonna race hard even gets their own teammates because every single one of those playoff drivers that hadn’t already won or lock themselves and we’re gonna do everything they could to get the last spots available for the playoffsI don’t think anything was done wrong. The only thing that bothers me or the comments made be frustrated but some things you should keep to yourself or addressed with the driver after.
This race was bonkers. This is what racing should be. Xfinity imo has outdone the Cup series this year. It’s just been wild this whole year
Depends on what you mean by "outdone." If you mean more wrecks which creates more drama, then yeah, I guess. Once you get to Cup, the level of driving should limit that sort of thing by default. "Wildness" isn't really the criteria I'd use to determine which series has a better year or was more competitive. I understand where your coming from though.
Absolutely … And the Truck Series outdid Cup this year, too !
@@nomadman5288 I guess you’re right too. As we all know, the Gen 7 cup car doesn’t perform well on short tracks and rod courses and look what we’ve seen from the Xfinity series and even the truck series this year. It’s been drastically different. That’s really what I’m basing it off of
Absolutely. Minus the Sonoma and maybe AutoClub, Michigan and Phoenix, almost every race is a barn burner and I love it! The xfinity series is almost becoming my favorite of the 3
It really has. I just wish 55 year old algaier wasn’t involved.
All those years we thought RCR was a solid organization, turns out it was just Dale's talent papering over the cracks.
The cracks started to form in 2002 with the 30 of Jeff Green running like a fucking R&D car

Hill should’ve said “I hope Creed leaving RCR is as fast as Xfinity 10G”
Creed did what he needed to do, didn’t wrecked him, just got it out of line. Joey did a similar thing back in 2018 to MTJ…..
(At least Richard Childress did not asked somebody to hold his watch😂)
Creed was too nice about it. He seems too fair and nice. I hope he does well.
He knows Joe Gibbs is watching..😉
Congratulations to Justin with the clutch W
He was just at the right place at the right time. Even though JRM has two cars in the Championship 4, I have a feeling that none of them will win it.
He could've had two cars in the final if Hill would've blocked for Creed and come in second. My guy won so I'm so happy I can't stop crying.🤣🤣
Would Austin Hill rather Creed raced him like he did or Creed race him like Ty Gibbs did to Brandon Jones and spin him out?
Don't believe that NexGen car could have stood up to all the beating and banging I seen in this race..Congrats to #7 and Mr. Creed you gave it all, you did what you get paid to do, try to win.
If you actually paid attention (which clearly you don't) you'd realize that the Nexgen car can handle WAY more than these cars.
It’s wild to think that Hill had no idea of the points situation before the final restart. Isn’t that something you want to communicate to your driver or at least make clear so they know what’s going on?
NASCAR gets touchy about that. They call it manipulating a race result. I believe they are the only sanctioning body with rules against it.
Years ago when Martin Truex Jr drove for Michael Waltrip there was some hokus pokus. The bottom line is they added a 13th car (Jeff Gordon) to the playoffs... it was a 12 car deal back then, and Michael Waltrip Racing was no more. Not sure if that was Toyota's idea or NASCAR's.
In the NHRA fans are so vocal that team orders are virtually non-existent. In Formula One teams are not only up front about team orders, it's expected, as every constructor has two cars, and drivers. They will even have one driver pull over to let the other, maybe faster teammate go past, right in the middle of the race. The Constructor's Championship is what pays the hundreds of millions of dollars, so everyone understands it's about total constructor points, not driver points. Especially for teams from 2nd on back.
I completely agree, and I think if they had communicated better with him, RCR would have two cars buying for the Xfinity championship but they didn’t and it’s done and now they have nobody because especially in the playoffs. Those playoff drivers are gonna be racing hard and doing whatever they came within reason to win and if that bothers you, maybe you need to find a different profession.
And I know Creed is leaving, but still, if I were a team owner I’d do everything I can to have their time with us, and on a high note, and on a good note
Jessie Love is going to be as aggressive with Austin Hill next year like Creed has been. So im expecting Part 2 of this next year with RC calling Love stupid
Jesse Love is incredibly aggressive despite being the class of the field in ARCA. I hope he rings Hill's bell often.
I’ll start this by saying Sheldon Creed is my favorite Xfinity driver and Tyler Reddick is my favorite cup driver. I may be a little biased since both were mistreated by Richard Childress during their whole stay. Richard Childress chooses blatant favorites. When Tyler Reddick was an objectively better driver than Austin Dillon, he chose the grandson royalty and gave Austin all the equipment. As soon as Tyler got the better equipment half way through 2022, he won. Immediately. Really goes to show that this is a common occurrence at RCR. I now can’t wait for Sheldon to get out of there.
RCR will never stop being toxic. I think Creed is smart to leave. Smelled like he was disliked from the time he started there. He on the outs with RCR anyways, so I don't blame him one bit for sending it. Had Austin blocked for Creed, they both would have been in.
Wrong wrong wrong wrong playoff cut line had Austin blocked for Creed 4th Custer +1 5th Hill -1
I feel like that’s especially in a playoff situation especially the playoff drivers are gonna be racing hard and doing everything they can within the limits. especially on the last lap. Your mindset is probably I have no friends at the moment I’m gonna do what I can and what I need to win.
Now they probably could’ve communicated better with him letting them know the points situation but they didn’t and now they have no cars in the championship and it is what it is. You can’t go back now.
Richard Childress continues to make himself look more and more like an unprofessional and emotional boss. Last year with the weird Reddick statement and now this mess.
Uh he ruined Jeff Greens chances of a good cup career by making him drive a car that was as much of a R&D car as the 7 Atwood had in 2002 and the 77 Penske had in 2005
The Dillon favoritism made Harvick leave Menard left not that long after refusing a team order to let Dillon pass him Skinner and Robby Gordon had to make the most out of what little they had
Honestly Andy Pitree and the other team mangers were to
Blame. RCR should of have orders for Austin to fall behind Sheldon and the two of them try to run away from the rest of the pack and finish 1-2 with both getting in. Terrible strategy or lack of one by RCR
How is everyone not looking at the points graph Hill was 5th -1 when the graph updated the 2 and 21 and he had yet to fall to 3rd when it updated
RCR staring to seem like a very toxic team to drive for. Harvick, Reddick, and Creed have all left this way… says a lot about Childress
Robby Gordon left to drive for himself Green was fired for making comments about Harvick while driving the R&D shitbox car
Bruh I had to wait through 28 minute red flag just for Allgaier to win💀💀
I keep imagining that the entire time Creed is saying in his head, “Damn it, Hill, just push me and we can both get in. Just work with me and we can both get in!”
I am honestly a Creed stan right now. Given everything that Creed’s been doing and trying to do to get a win and yet has essentially been shoved aside in favor of Hill, to the point where he feels that he has to leave…. And then his boss is all vindictive about it? Like damn RCR baring their whole ass about how much they suck internally, how toxic they are. Creed is capable of wins and is just trying to prove it to the audience, not Childress because Creed already knows he doesn’t care.
It’s like the whole Vickers vs Hendrick Motorsports thing back in the day from what I remember (or maybe it was Kyle Busch). He was trying to do what he could but Hendrick doesn’t care and plans to jettison him, so he’s like, “Screw it,” and basically acts on his own and doesn’t care about the stable anymore.
Austin Hill messed himself up on the restart as the leader. He spun his tires awfully, allowing others and Sheldon to have the upper hand. Smh
I'm old school and its refreshing to hear some passion and honesty. Say it like it is and how you feel. I agree with him.
What he said is still unprofessional. It's never a good idea to insult one of your drivers cuz it basically confirms everyone's suspicion that you're favoring the other driver.
Oh damn a race review on an Xfinity race?
That is not on Sheldon Creed, in my opinion I would put an 80% blame on Austin Hill & 20% on Sheldon Creed, but in my opinion Austin Hill sake, he should've let Shelden Creed go and let him and he could've finish 2nd and that would've enough to make it by points and both RCR cars made it in the final 4 and eliminate both Cole Custer & Justin Allgaier, but instead it is no RCR in the final 4 and it gave either Justin Allgaier or Sammy Smith a chance to win but Justin Allgaier edge out Sheldon Creed for the win and Cole Custer pick up stage 2 points was enough for him to make it in and that made the difference, so that save Cole Custer. I feel both Andy Petree & Richard Childress blame Sheldon Creed is the wrong move and if Richard Childress pull Sheldon Creed out of car for Phoenix early that would be the dumb move and maybe either Matt Kaulig #11 or JGR #19 will get Sheldon Creed for Phoenix.
I’m afraid your math is as inaccurate as 95% of the people who watched these videos Custer was locked in over Hill by a point when they came off 4 and Hill wrecked
I thought NASCAR had a rule against “TEAM ORDERS” ?
Maybe a penalty should be applied to RCR racing? A New Creed fan here !
You know, NASCAR is very vague when it comes to team orders. I know deep down inside that team orders are still a thing yet NASCAR has done absolutely nothing about it unless team orders start to get more egregious.
Like wtf happened here would be a fine then for the team for unsportsmanlike conduct *Cough Kyle *Cough Texas *Cough 2010
@@masoneveridge4078 That happened in 2011, not 2010.
A similar scenario took place in the 2001 edition of the British Touring Car Championship.
There was a wild battle for the championship between the two works Vauxhall of Yvan Muller and Jason Plato, the forner being the favourite of the team and the latter considered the wingman that had to play second fiddle.
There were some rough battles and confrontations along the season with both of them leading the overall classification, and Plato in his autobiography wrote that his own boss Roland Dane trash talked him in private and ultimately even tried to get him disqualified from the championship finale before the event even started, while both of them were in a dogfight for the title. It ended up with Plato winning the championship after Muller had an engine failure and left the team at season's end.
Stay in your lane 😂
@@scrolldier ?
complete fumble by the 21 team. how are you not gonna tell him the points situation. if he knows that, this doesnt happen, creed wins and hill finishes 2nd or 3rd both making the final 4
Yep now I’ve lost all respect for rcr.
Same. I guess I'm actively rooting against them now
Eric Estepp offers the best race analysis of any broadcast.
As a Kyle Busch fan, I liked JGR when Kyle Busch drove for that team (excluding second half of 2022) more so than I like RCR right now.
At least he won 3 races and got to the round of 12. Should've been the round of 8. But still a good season nonetheless
I liked Busch back then. But not the way JGR chews up drivers and then leaves them high and dry. Lately, it's turned more into Ty Gibbs racing. Cost effective I wish Creed well, though, in that pool of sharks. I'm surprised that MTJ has lasted that long in that environment. Regarding RCR, Richard has always been spicy.
@Nascarsam6161 TyGibbsRacing is slowly dying. I think you are seeing a fall off of JGR. Like most teams, you'll see peaks and valleys, just like RFK trending upwards and SHR trending downwards. JGR is tending downwards.
@@AidenSexsmith Not really. They've won 8 races this year. Three with Hamlin and Truex and two with Christopher Bell
@@kjprodouctions9050 Like most teams, you might have a good year, but then you might have a bad couple of seasons. Who would've thought that in 2021, if you said that in 2023 SHR would be lousy, I think you would be crazy.
This felt like the 2017 fall cup finish
I told my mom and dad, that we were gonna have a 2017 fall cup finish, and then i gave them the "i told you so" card when it happened😂😂😂
I agree Eric. Richard has been in this business forever and he had two of his drivers in position to fight for the win on a late restart at Martinsville. Did he really think either driver was going to lay over and let the other win? It was a great race and I'm not surprised at the outcome. I can't wait for the Cup Race this afternoon.
RC even said it on the radio before the restart that Creed would go hard. This was not shocking and Creed raced courteously given the situation. RC, Petree and Hill just let emotions get to them.
Austin Hill screwed himself. Austin didn't need to win to advance. Sheldon did. When Sheldon got inside of Austin, Austin SHOULD have driven a safe final lap to finish 2nd or 3rd. Instead he fought so hard that he ended up slamming into the back of Sheldon, blowing his radiator, and crashing himself out of the playoffs.
Hill needed to win when he went into 4 in 2nd Custer was 1 point Ahead of him
I've been noticing little things all year long and last year that had me believing that RCR has been favoring Austin Hill. Tonight just verified and put it out in the open. I think Creed would have multiple wins by now if not for RCR and Austin Hill
RC and Petree going after Creed like that is wild. I wonder how they act behind the scenes.
I hate the fact that this is what NASCAR is nowadays. Nobody is professional on track anymore. And then there’s RCR….
I don’t like Sheldon, but wow….
Why did Richard take Creed knowing that he wouldn't bend to him and Hill? Seriously, when did the Creed hate started and why?
@@JustGenius2001 oh my issue with Sheldon was when he intentionally wrecked Sammy Smith at Nashville and got away with it with some soft fine. Idk, he rubbed me the wrong way after.
Anyway. That doesn’t mean I want him to be treated badly for any team. RCR’s back at it again with favoritism. Wanna know what’s worse? They didn’t even talk to Austin (publicly), like Austin ain’t no angel either last night.
This whole situation is a ridiculous mess.
@@JustGenius2001 also W profile, April!
@@IanTheMotorsportsMan_YT Thanks. I bet Jesse Love is second guessing his decision right now.
@@JustGenius2001 who knows
Childress says stuff like that, then was shocked that Reddick jumped ship from RCR at the first opportunity. At the end of the day Martinsville is the cut off for the championship race, its all gloves off come the end of the race
I hope Creed at JGR has the good equipment to run for a championship
What I saw out of the whole situation is Hill and Creed fighting for a win, Creed did what he had to do because he needed to win to make the final 4. But he cooked it going into 3 and had to make up for it in the center of the corner, making Hill run into the back of him. Just seemed to be Creed pushing a little too hard for the win again. The issue is, when this happens, your team is supposed to support their drivers and help keep their chins up. What RCR did and said to Creed shows who they really are, and their team might be the worst in the sport when it comes to mentality and toxicity.
Also something to point out at 3:08 if JHN is who turned Austin Hill what even happened to him? Did he blow a tire or something? I feel like that needs a deeper look
Creed was going to overshoot Hill slamming it made him lose focus and overshot it worse then he would’ve
I mean, let’s be honest every single one of those drivers are there to win so they’re gonna do everything they can within reason to do so especially in the playoffs. Those playoff drivers are going to do that. I think they should’ve communicated better to heal that all you gotta do is just get whatever position would’ve locked him in on points, and then he might’ve helped creed do whatever he needed to win and then now they would’ve had two cars and now they have none. No RC’s post race comments should’ve been kept to himself if he could’ve aired his frustrations differently because calling one of your drivers were regardless of her leaving or not looks bad and makes people not want to come race for you
What was the Most telling to me was at the end of the race before the last Pit stop and for the Entire Race Richard was on Austin Hills Pitbox. Just proves what we all know
Can't be in two places at once
This is why I love Xfinity at Pre-Finale Martinsville. Always bump & runs & hard racing. I think that's the second photo finish we had at pre-finale xfinity Martinsville IN A ROW. I am on Creed`s side though. Austin Hill went too far with leaking Love going to RCR & Creed going to Gibbs.
And then I think RC during his interviews could’ve aired his frustrations differently. He should’ve never called Creed stupid that’s unprofessional even though Craig did whatever other driver would’ve done in his situation, especially on the final life of crucial playoff race everyone is going to race hard that’s just part of race and you have to race hard even against your own teammates and if that bothers you maybe you need tofind a different profession
@@mesquitegirl2013 Exactly.
Wheres denny Hamlin when u need him 😂😂😂
If anything Austin should have let Creed go and battled with 2nd to give Creed the win and him the points in. I blame Austin Hill for that mistake
Exactly
It was a must win for both as Custer would’ve mathematically locked 4th over Hill by a point
Austin Hill needed points and Creed needed a win going into Martinsville. i don't see how Hill could have not raced as hard to help his team mate into Champ 4 and he still would have advanced. He started all the contact and the team jumped over Creed for it. Hill is the apparent favorite who can't do anything wrong to RCR's eyes
30+ years of being an RCR fan might be on the rocks for me after the way Childress, Hill, and Petree treated Sheldon Creed. Not cool. Not cool at all, especially because Hill could have eased off just a little and _both of them_ would likely be going for the championship next race. I hope JGR will give Creed more respect than he got at RCR. Grats to Allgaier for that clutch win, even if I would rather have seen Creed there.
The day Kyle Busch leaves for another competitive team, retires from Cup to do Trucks, or retires entirely, RCR is in trouble.
I’d been on that train since 2013 and this turned me from a fan to a hater like wtf this is a race team not a family run coffee shop with a shady ass manager
Sheldon deserves better. Imagine being a part of the team that wants to favor the other guy. I can’t imagine what it’s done to his confidence when your team doesn’t even support you
And now with this,JRM now has a good season compared to this lol
If they can finally finish the job at Phoenix. How many times JRM came short to winning the championship even though they had almost all their cars in the Championship 4?
Does he actually think Jesse Love wont move him out of the way next year?? That dude is extra aggressive 😂
I’m not putting the blame on either driver, this is the result of the win and you’re in playoff format. Team owners should just let their drivers race it out. With points changing every lap, when teams start trying to make the perfect plan for the finish, usually disaster is the end result
If Richard wanted Austin to win, then he should have given the order over the radio, and then explained to Creeds whole team, why, after the race or in Monday mornings meeting. Then see how much respect they have for him after that. Maybe he should have tried to remember what happened last year while waiting through the 30 minute red flag. Then he would have known what was about to happen, just like every other fan and racer knew.
RCR could’ve gotten both cars in the championship 4 if Creed would’ve won and Hill finished 2nd or 3rd. Creed didn’t win and Hill wrecked so neither RCR car makes it.
Hill was also in a must win as the 4th driver had pointed his way in right as the wreck started had the wreck not happened Custer would’ve finished 6th and pointed his way in by 1 point
RCR didn't want Creed to make it in. That's why the team didn't tell Hill the points. Hill would have let Creed by so they could both make it. Creed raced for the win like you're supposed when that's what you need to get in. He did no wrong
Yeah I’ve lost respect for RCR.
He's certainly had some questionable reactions to things didn't he go after kyle busch in the garage many years ago and now he drives for him
I'm with you. I think my father also lost respect for RCR which is sad cuz he used to be a Earnhardt fan.
Hell the only reason I’m in this sport is because my dad wouldn’t shut up about Dale and after this I want this team to fall apart in the same way RYR did 15-20 years ago
I gotta say….I love all of this😅🤣 this is why I tune in!!! To see guys lay it all out for the win! I love the unprofessionalism, the drama, the action…let these drivers, crews, owners, etc say exactly what they feel and let them handle their problems amongst themselves!!! NASCAR needs to enforce the racing…leave the rest for the drivers & teams to work it out! Next week is going to be very interesting to watch!!!
Brake checking is a brilliant technique at Martinsville. Byron did it beautifully while on the bottom lane a couple of years ago. Everyone knows Byron was going to be booted and he countered it in fashion. Creed did the exact thing on a top lane covered with oil dry.
We don’t even know if that’s what he did but either way everyone’s gonna be racing hard on the final lap of a crucial race so it’s there’s no friends here kind of mentality you know
If Hill doesn't hit John hunter on lap 7 to move him which caused the big wreck, he possibly finishes 2nd and goes to the championship!!! Now he gets moved and he's crying like a baby!!! KARMA
Makes me a creed fan 👍
I'm sure creed was like "I'm going to stop way too much so that I can both shit on my teammate and not make the playoffs myself" what a stupid opinion from Austin Hill. But I don't race for a living so I guess idk
What made Childress famous, a driver that cleaned out everyone in his path. Phuc him
I think it was bill Elliott calling Jerry Nadeau a idiot on a road course and then fired him
We haven't seen teammate on teammate violence and team chaos like that since Days of Thunder.
Uh go back to the first 9 races of this year and count how many times the JRM cars took each other out
But Jr. didn't get in front of the media and start calling Brandon Jones "the most stupid driver he's ever had" or something like that. @@masoneveridge4078
