I never heard the KB version (or the song period) but loved this one first time I heard it and had to find out what song it was and who sings it.

My God, the evolution of this performance is both charming and inspiring! One can see you go from uncertain to powerful. Your hands alternating from trying to fly, to griping the mic. But all the while, your voice gaining footing, bending to your will. Literally the greatest song performance that I've ever seen sung, in 49 years. Kate is weeping with pride; and Siouxsie is nodding, smiling in her quirky way, and ushering you forth. Exemplary. Thank you (again).

Man I can't get enough of Meg Myers! IMO she should be one of the biggest stars on the planet. As for me I have been an absolute METALHEAD for the past 22 years(I'm currently 35).... and metal is what I almost strictly listen to 90% of the time. I could never really understand how artists like Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Ariana Grande etc are so HUGE in today's mainstream etc I'm not saying they aren't good....I guess they do their thing quite well. But for me Meg Myers is so amazing and talented and I love her....I think she deserves so much more recognition than she gets and I think she is so much better than most of this shit that rules the mainstream. I'm also proud to know that Meg is from Nashville Tennessee, which is only 2 hours from where I am in Tennessee. Proud to be a metalhead and a Meg Myers fan 😂😎🤘

To anyone who says shes off-key or anything, shes actually hitting all the notes as intended quite beautifully, with subtle yet distinctly noticeable changes in certain runs, and seemingly purposeful changes in key... The soundboard mixer(s) could've adjusted some things for sure, but this is also definitely just one of those songs that is HARD to sing, and will never really sound quite as good or have that same impact when sung live, unless the arrangement is altered so much that it's practically unrecognizable. A stripped down version could be beautiful (the first example that comes to my mind is some of the "one mic, one voice," or whatever versions of songs from Banks, since her music tends to be so heavily produced), but its kinda hard to do that when you didn't write the song and/or don't have a multi-million dollar team to collaborate with... idk. I think Meg always sounds great! I'd love to hear her sing this stripped down though!
