As someone who is primarily a metalhead, discovering this woman's music two days ago has simply mesmerized my musical soul....such vocal talent and raw emotion pouring forth from this gorgeous woman....sigh....
Still listening to the play set in 2022. My kids are like.. do you have to put it on repeat! Hell ya... If you want me to clean. This gives me energy from within to get motivated. I love how she feels every instruments beat while singing and dancing!❤ Meg Myers ❤
I just discovered her a few months ago with the desire song and then this and I can’t stop she’s amazing I want to see more of her and definitely live!
I feel like she's so much more into her music than the crowd, despite how much they clap and applaud. She has so much emotion, it's almost like she isn't singing to them. Like only she fully feels what she's singing, so she sings her songs out past the people in the hope that they lyrics will find 1 or 2 who can relate as emotionally and completely as only she does.
It's a summertime music festival in hot, humid Chicago. It's cloudy; it might rain any minute. You're never going to get any more than 50% engagement from the crowd; they can walk to another stage in 2 minutes. That's how it is. BUT it does not make Meg any less MAJESTIC.
That scream at the end always gives me goosebumps. Technically she's not perfect, but it's this imperfection and emotion that makes her an amazing artist ^^
I love Heart Heart Head, but this version in front of this crowd kinda reminded me of Marty Mcfly playing Jimi Hendrix in Back to the Future at the 1950's dance. "I guess you guys weren't ready for that!" "But your kids will love it"

that was a great set. I love how she covered Kate Bush and Stranger Things had to go copy her. I'm sure she was the influence there -- Kate Bush was largely lost in the eighties before Meg came along, and like it says in the Tiny Desk description, Meg is often compared to Kate. (and yeah, i know when the show is set -- I meant for them to go and make it a hit again, like Meg didn't rock that cover)

Ive been listening to it since ive found it. They need to include the band more, they are very unique. Not many bands out there using a cello! I prefer the live sound more than the EPs

If it's outside go anyway and bring some binoculars and a short rope swing maybe you will get lucky and there will be a tree tall enough to peer over. be kool to other peeps property you wouldn't want anything your doing to have a negative impression on meg. hell maybe there will be folks kind enough to let you watch from their roof with them if you ask/bribe. Hell i remember spending $45 each for my wife and me to watch Gallagher at Humphrey's by the Bay. And the second thing out his mouth was how all the people partying on their boats got to drink beer and watch the show for FREE. Never give up. I did so much stuff only adults were allowed because i wanted to so I would show up and use my creative side in my brain and see what came up. I was at the 1st KGB lightshow at Jack Murphy Stadium. But the game (baseball ) and following simulcasted Rock / fireworks were sold out. so me and my to best friends grabbed a portable radio and rode our bikes from E San Diego to Hillcrest and rode north until we hit the cliffs overlooking the stadium from the S. side of Interstate 8. OMG best view ever. we were eye lvl with the fire works no staring straight up form below. What i'm saying is Never Give Up If you want something bad enough try harder. I'm 52yrs now. and my only regret is i will never be 16 again.

Hell i remember spending $45 each for my wife and me to watch Gallagher at Humphrey's by the Bay. And the second thing out his mouth was how all the people partying on their boats got to drink beer and watch the show for FREE.
Never give up. I did so much stuff only adults were allowed because i wanted to so I would show up and use my creative side in my brain and see what came up.
I was at the 1st KGB lightshow at Jack Murphy Stadium. But the game (baseball ) and following simulcasted Rock / fireworks were sold out. so me and my to best friends grabbed a portable radio and rode our bikes from E San Diego to Hillcrest and rode north until we hit the cliffs overlooking the stadium from the S. side of Interstate 8.
OMG best view ever. we were eye lvl with the fire works no staring straight up form below.
