Thank you all so much for watching!!! I’m fishing and working hard to continue to bring some epic content to you all. The last two weeks I’ve been traveling and fishing up the coast from Florida to New England. I’m almost done with my journey north then I’m going to fish and travel back south. Then once back in Florida I’ll be there for 5 days before flying out to Panama on August 5th and returning the 13th for a week long epic Kayak adventure at Los Buzos resort. You can check it out at this link losbuzos.com/kayak-fishing-landing/ if any of you watching want to join my down there for that week! Anyway thank you all so much for watching and tight lines!!!! 🎣
Wow, a trip to Panama sounds freaking epic. I was just watching Robert Field’s latest uploads down there at the Los Buzos resort. That place is like the Jurassic Park of fishing. Looking forward to the uploads.
Sweet bro. I’m looking at trips to Baja for the roosterfish as I’m trying to check mark another species off the list. I hope you catch em and check some cool fish off your list as well. Yak Trip of a lifetime 🤙
Rich from now on when fishing for permit don’t wanna be on bottom you wanna be up in the water column. Split shot if anything just to hold it middle of water column depending on depth you are fishing. Typically a split shot does the trick. Try it next time you know you are on the meat. I’m not saying you can’t catch on bottom but the sweet spot is suspended in water column…anytime you watch videos underwater and you see permit they aren’t on the bottom. They are up in the water column. Anyway no criticism just some advice to consider. If the permit are there it will be all but immediate hook up..
@Joiner Thanks for the info… how should I fish them in the inlets? Just drift them no weight? How about from the beach? On a pomp rig? I’m in search on my first permit and fishing from shore between Ft Pierce and Sebastian… crabs are chilling in the garage at the moment lol
@@fishclips2665 I’m not familiar with fishing from beaches or inlets for permit. If I did see some cruising the inlets or I knew they were there yeah I would free line them and feed line out as necessary to continue drifting crab through the strike zone or wherever you know they frequent. Those currents rip through those inlets so it depends. Permit might be hugging the bottom or closer to bottom when in inlets vs on wrecks In that case, I would want to fish towards bottom of water column. Still suspended off the bottom. A bobber with a split shot up from the hook 6 inches or so to keep crab down would be ideal. Again, offshore wreck permit fishing is different than fishing for them in the flats or inlets and beaches…try everything!!! Lol good luck to ya on your quest. 🤙
Die hard follower here. I live I’m Indiana. The longest dark matter rod you have is love to put it up to test too so 50+ pounds blue and flat head catfish send one to me brother I promise you great reviews you will get pictures and all of it either way I understand if not but it would be awesome. I think your dark matterrods would be amazing
Glad to hear, I’ll have to see if I can do a giveaway through the channel for one or two of the rods so then everyone had a chance to snag one. Thanks for watching though tight lines!!
Awesome vid Rich! Will be hitting your former fishing grounds for the weekend: Sea Bass/Fluke trip on the Viking Fleet, staying at the Tipperary, and of course SPs, on my favorite stretch of beach, in the predawn twilight! 😎🎣
Awesome! Good luck out there!! I’m actually in MTk now. I’ve been here for a few days and I hope to be out here for a couple more days. Before continuing on.
Nice video! Again, thanks for sharing and taking us out on this adventure. Enjoyed watching and you had some nice catches. Keep up the good work! And as always, #FishAholicFishing rocks!!!
[ when in Vietnam, one of friend's got crabs 🦀 we got a very small pot and tweezers and may them up.. It stop him from jumping around and a jackrabbit. ]
Great video man!! I was catching bait around Sebastian Inlet last week and found a ton of small blue crabs… so I went looking for permit! Ended up catching a solid 32-33in snook and was really surprised that he ate the crab, funny seeing you have the same experience!!
Yeah I have eaten them before. I think they are very good. I keep like 1 of them a year and usually it’s if I take a family member out or girlfriend and I want to cook it up for them.
Hey brother, love the video as always. Saw that you might be fishing in Virginia the next week or so would definitely avoid Fishing Ocean Waters, and stick to the bay. The ocean bite has been slow if you’re not offshore. Tight lines.
Love your content brother, keep on grinding, I grew up in palm city, we fish a lot of the same areas. Maybe I'll run into you one day. I've got a video on my channel of a release in a super secret spot 😉, hope to be adding more soon. Tight lines brother!
I’ve never used crabs for stripers actually but I know they eat them. Because I’ve seen them spit them up and I’ve cleaned them out if their stomach before. I think they like to eat them during a storm when the water is churned up and tosses the crabs around.
I’m no expert on catching permit so maybe someone else can chime in. But I’ve caught them on soft Sandy muddy bottoms in shallow water and as well in deeper water like 40/50ft over hard bottom. I’ve also seen them hanging on bridges in the Florida keys, and on inlet jetties near me. One thing I think that’s most important is moving water and then they can kinda be anywhere.
I can’t send a pic but two weeks ago caught a 73.3 # blue cat. Send me a link where I could send you pictures. I want to try your dark matter rod so bad against these catfish up here
Quick question.....why do you use flourocarbon leaders, a lot of people have told me to stay away from flouro line all together because its weak, so what are the perks of it?
Yeah I use a lot of Fluor because I believe and most fisher people believe it’s les visible than mono. Mono also tends to have more stretch and fluoro has more abrasive resistance
That was kinda shit luck there at the end. How could you not get hooked up, crazy. Nice 35" snook. ONLY 30 lb leader? I am not fishing for 40" + snook but use 20 and 25lb flouro only. I don't think I get the bites w bigger leader.
Yeah lighter leader is the best in a scenario where there is little structure. There is a lot of bottom structure in this area and I say “only” because at times you can get away with 40,50, 60, or even 80lb leader here and still lose fish. I got lucky I didn’t get sharked or broken off in the bottom.
Can you pin me cause I am first
For sure haha. Thanks for commenting 🤙🏻
Thank you

Try Narragansett Bay for big stripers .
Listen to the my friend excitement today👍
Thanks so much for watching!
Thank you for your videos! They motivate me to get up early and explore all the fishing spots I have in the Pacific Northwest.
Awesome!!! I’m glad to hear! I hope you are catching!!!

@@ONE_FLYMINGO Thanks man!! Truly appreciated!
Cool thanks so much I’ll try that next time!! Maybe that’s where I failed.

Awesome! Glad to hear and good luck out there!!
Great day on the water, weather looked nice no big chop and the icing on the cake caught some fish. As always thanks for bringing us along.
Cheers
Yeah it was a nice day out there! Thanks so much for watching!!!
You had a better day fishing than I did on the 5th - Thanks Rich
Ahhh sorry to hear! Hope you get them next time!!

Watching from Brazil 🇧🇷👍
Awesome, obrigado!!!
Those rod are fire!!
Glad to hear!! I love them.
0:37 Dude, be careful who you're foolin' with on that bridge because it's notorious for givin' you the crabs!
Hahaha 😂oh jeez

I love your attitude and work ethic. Thanks so much for another top quality video. Awesome!!
Thanks so much! I’m really glad you enjoyed!!!
I used to catch tons of crabs as a kid with hotdogs on a hook off the rocks at the front of my marina.
Hahah fun stuff!
Nice video! Again, thanks for sharing and taking us out on this adventure. Enjoyed watching and you had some nice catches. Keep up the good work! And as always, #FishAholicFishing rocks!!!
Thanks so much David! Glad you enjoyed!
Hello my friend, how are you? You are a professional at fishing. I wish I were with you on your boat and catch fish with you. Good luck.
That’s my spot !! Shhhhhhh
❤ I loved the video, babe! What an amazing work you do deep respect! Also, beautiful snook hahaha I can't believe they ate the crabs 😂 So cool!
Snook Day haha great video bro
[ when in Vietnam, one of friend's got crabs 🦀 we got a very small pot and tweezers and may them up.. It stop him from jumping around and a jackrabbit. ]
Hahaha hilarious
Oh hell yeah
Very good
Blessings my friend
Good stuff as usual 👍
Thank you
Thanks so much Bruno!!

Thanks so much and that’s awesome! I guess you know at times they are opportunistic feeders and will eat anything they can fit in their mouth
Great video
Mr. Rich have you ever eaten Snook? I don't think I've seen you catch and cook that before
Yeah I have eaten them before. I think they are very good. I keep like 1 of them a year and usually it’s if I take a family member out or girlfriend and I want to cook it up for them.
Great video!
Thanks so much!

Cool thanks so much!!
Met a guy years ago who would use blue crabs to catch monster snook. There’s a video somewhere on here of a 40in+ snook inhaling a blue crab
Cool

Thanks for the videos, you ever use crabs for stripers up here in New England?

Do you do catch clean and cook's if would seem like all y'all would love to catch them and eat them up because y'all catch some great tasty fish
Yeah sometimes I do that. But the snook season was closed during when this video was filmed.
I hear the waters off the florida coast by the keys have been alarmingly hot lately. What have you encountered?
Yeah where I live it’s in the upper 80s low 90s
👂🥇 you guys can go ahead and let the sink or hit the bottom and then reel in pop it off the bottom 👍🥴
Great videos always.. I'm curious as to the brand and model of your boat and how long it is ?
Thanks so much! It’s a 24ft CC fishmaster
37" is my biggest snook. That's crazy.
I’m surprised they liked the crabs!!
nice
What type of depth and structures do you look for permit?
I’m no expert on catching permit so maybe someone else can chime in. But I’ve caught them on soft Sandy muddy bottoms in shallow water and as well in deeper water like 40/50ft over hard bottom. I’ve also seen them hanging on bridges in the Florida keys, and on inlet jetties near me. One thing I think that’s most important is moving water and then they can kinda be anywhere.
Hey. I’m fishing Daytona beach Tmr for 6 days, what lures do u think would work best on the surf??
what is false dawn? is it the same as first light?
Yeah first light.
huh i thought that was only a fresh water thing through the head of a bait
Usually you don't hook crabs on the side the their lungs and insides.
If you go then the their butt they last longer
Rich you need to start your own app and it’s fish regulations ,their habitat, and pin where you have caught them and what lure or bait you used
Hahaha yeah that would be a really cool idea 💡
That’s ridiculous, find your own spots n bait that works if your a real fisherman it’ll be easy
♥
What kind of boat do you have ?
24ft fishmaster. I believe it’s discontinued
🎣🤙🏼
cool and all that you got it to peel drag like that but it is bad for the fish and makes for much worse releases
not saying it’s not ok for it to peel drag but that is way to loose i have caught pinfish with tighter drag than that
Snook have very abrasive mouths. If I played this fish hard. With the jig head. It’s possible for it to brake the line.
they mush
they must be hunger
Most important question is what line is the purple and pink
It’s the Normad Pandora Braided line!
🎉❤❤❤❤
I can’t send a pic but two weeks ago caught a 73.3 # blue cat. Send me a link where I could send you pictures. I want to try your dark matter rod so bad against these catfish up here
Quick question.....why do you use flourocarbon leaders, a lot of people have told me to stay away from flouro line all together because its weak, so what are the perks of it?
Least visible line ever
Yeah I use a lot of Fluor because I believe and most fisher people believe it’s les visible than mono. Mono also tends to have more stretch and fluoro has more abrasive resistance
Award for loosest drag on youtube goes to fishaholic
I'd eat the crabs 😂.
Haha yeah I’m sure you can make great crab cakes?
That was kinda shit luck there at the end. How could you not get hooked up, crazy. Nice 35" snook. ONLY 30 lb leader? I am not fishing for 40" + snook but use 20 and 25lb flouro only. I don't think I get the bites w bigger leader.

@FishAholicTV I get it, keep up the good work. I'm on the west coast, cape Coral. Our fishing pales compared to the east coast
can anyone tell the name of his boat plz
24ft fishmaster cc
Hi can you take me one day with you😊
Rich can you go fishing with me ?
i hate that your boat is a mess
Dude. Every single fish you lost was your own mistakes.
Most fish we all lose is our faults, if you fish you should understand, or you're full of excuses
Why do you cup your drag when the fish is 20 ft from the boat? Enjoy your feed but that shit is infuriating
You couldn’t keep this snook
No season was closed.
WHY DO YOU HOLD YOUR DRAG IT MAKES IT USELESS
boo
Tu n’as pas d’histoire
hey @fishaholicTV what boat do you currently use?
I have a 24ft fishmaster boat.
Great video
Thanks so much!!
